Great reaction to another amazing cover by #HomeFree! This one is heart-wrenching and harmonically beautiful and rich all at the same time! Their tight pipe organ chords and fullness give it a cathedral sound.

This is a brilliant cover done extremely well! The lead vocals along with the harmonies has such a resounding effect on one’s soul. The echo effect always gives me chills every time I watch/listen to it. This is my top favorite from Home Free so far. They’ve done some amazing covers that really make you feel something! Love, love, love your reaction and review!

Hauntingly beautiful yet sends a powerful message. They remind me of a pipe organ at the climax of the song. Sends shivers up the spine. Your reaction is quite different from most reactors. I always enjoy it when a different spin is put to a reaction. This is ear candy and shows Home Free as the master singers they are.

One of their most hauntingly beautiful performances. I still haven't been able to get through it without crying a little. Thanks for the Home Free reactions.

This is so hauntingly beautiful. A master class in 5-part harmony. The original of this arrangement by Club for Five is definitely worth a listen, too. It's quite different because it is mixed male and female voices with instrumental accompaniment.

So haunting. It’s one of my favorites of theirs. Love Tim and Chance’s leads. Love the echoes. This was written by Dire Straits about the Falklands War. So well done by the boys and the video is haunting as well. Good one sir!

Mark Knopler of Dire Straits wrote this in response to the Falkland War, a guitar-heavy song. The Finnish a capella group Club For Five arranged it for a capella and graciously allowed Home Free to use their arrangement. Tim only added the echoes to the arrangement. A HF masterpiece and one of my favorites.

Guitar heavy is right, HF got it right, for me. Noise of battle followed by Tim's toenail rattling bass drop between verses, for me anyway. Mark got the lyrics, HF got the presentation.

@@glennspreeman1634 Agree. Never thought of comparing the noise of battle to Tim's bass; interesting observation.

I had to listen to Dire Straits several times before the lyrics really hit home for me. As a veteran of the Vietnam War, Home Free's version brought back so many memories that tears are my only response.

Hauntingly beautiful version of this Dire Straits song.
Having Tim and Chance take lead commands your attention and the importance of the lyrics.
Home Free just released the first official video with their new high tenor Adam Bastien called Something To Talk About

I always describe it as hauntingly beautiful and the video certainly mirrors it. I love Tim's breathy bass lead and putting Chance's higher lead into contrast. Their voices fit the song so we'll. And those notes at the end sound like a church organ. The hole song gives me goosebumps.
Onto another topic concerning Home Free: they've released the first song/video with their newest member: Something To Talk About. It's awesome.
    Thanks for the reaction.

The Falklands War was a major war between the United Kingdom and Argentina. This war saw both nations fighting over ownership of the Falkland Islands as well as South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. The war lasted from 2nd April to 14th June, 1982 and claimed the lives of 258 British soldiers.
The events of the war were what inspired the lyrics of this tune, which sees the singer singing from the point of view of a severely injured soldier who is about to die on the battlefield. His comrades stay by his side as he prepares to depart the earth. In bidding his fellow soldiers farewell, he tells them not to worry, for “every man has to die”. In his final words, he tells them how foolish “we” are “to make war on our brothers in arms”. By this, he means they should never have fought the opposing soldiers, who he considers their “brothers”. In his eyes, the war was pointless.

This lament for humanity has to wrench your heart. The lyrics resemble some ancient poetry, and you are correct; the pure music transcends all language.

The movement in the background vocals IS amazing. It is an arrangement that Tim reached out to another a capella group (Club For Five) for permission to use their arrangement. The CFF arrangement has some subtle beatboxing, where this one has none, and I think the deeper voices of HF give a better sound, but the moving BV's are beautiful in both.
