On the same day of having completed the Penang round island, I decided to extend the ride across Butterworth and simply head south to towards Taiping.
The general plan is to carry on for as long as I can.

It looks thirsty work. Did you find it easy enough to get water along the way, or did you need to carry a day's worth? If you did need to carry it, where do you store that much on the Brompton?
As you know Malaysia is both hot and humid, water is paramount, I normally carry my standard 800 mls on the bike + 1 or 2 x 500 mls in my ruck sack (65L capacity) as backup, but I certainly found many "roadside cafe/kiosk", where you can have ice teas (teh tarik), fruit juice and buy more bottled water (cash only) if need be. I did have to stop for respite / lie down every mile or so, due to the intense heat, hence I carry a mat everywhere I go.
Finding water and food along the "normal" highways (avoid the PLUS highways) aren't difficult, I tend to choose roadside cafes for drinks so I can keep an eye on the bike and not have to cart it inside a restaurant.
In an emergency, and should I need to, I can use the Grab app to summon a "taxi" :), Grab is like Uber. It works in Singapore and Malaysia.
@@ODOB Good to know about 'grab'. In Thailand it was 'Bolt' - both worth downloading beforehand for travellers to those countries.
@@wayneriley7557 forgot to mention, you can only add credit (money) from your UK based bank card once you are in Malaysia, I tried to register my card with Grab whilst still in the UK and it didn't work.
