  • Penang island has become a popular tourist destination thanks to its colonial architecture, natural and cultural attractions, and some of the best street food in Asia. Here are 10 of the best things to do in Penang:
    10. Try The Unique Cuisine Of Penang
    Dishes you should try include Laksa, Cendol, and Nasi Kandar. In the heart of George Town you can also find the Chulia Street Night Market where you can sample some delicious Chinese-Malaysian food, such as Char Kuey Teow & Wonton Mee.
    ☑️ Penang Street Food Tour: www.getyourguide.com/penang-l...
    9. Explore George Town’s Historical Streets & Art Scene
    When walking around the historical area, you’ll find lots of beautiful buildings and wall paintings, which represent images from Penang’s past and daily life.
    😴 Where we stayed in George Town - Attic Hotel: www.booking.com/hotel/my/cham...
    8. Take The Funicular Up To Penang Hill
    Penang Hill offers panoramic views of the city and the mainland in the distance. But you can also find a Hindu temple, a mosque, a variety of nature trails, an art gallery, and even cafés and food courts.
    7. Discover Flora And Fauna At The Habitat
    The Habitat is a rainforest discovery center that takes you into the heart of the jungle. It’s a treasure of biodiversity, boasting an abundance of wildlife. You can explore the forest by walking a nature trail, including informational signs, a canopy walk and a viewing platform.
    ☑️ Entry Ticket The Habitat: www.getyourguide.com/george-t...
    6. Stroll Around Clan Jetties in George Town
    Located at the waterfront, this unique type of settlement was created by Chinese immigrants in the late 19th century. There are now six jetties you can visit, and Chew Jetty is the most popular one with many souvenir shops and places to eat.
    5. Explore Little Indi
    The temple Sri Mahamariamman marks the start of the area and behind it, you’ll find colorful streets with goldsmiths and stores selling sarees and trinkets. But what we loved the most was the tasty and authentic Indian food.
    4. Discover The Buddhist Kek Lok Si Temple
    Kek Lok Si is the largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia. The temple is made up of colorful prayer halls, beautiful gardens, ponds with fish and turtles, an impressive seven-tiered pagoda, and a large bronze statue of the Buddhist Goddess of compassion.
    3. Hike At Penang National Park
    Penang National Park is the smallest national park in Malaysia. There are 3 walking trails that cut through the jungle here. We decided to take the right fork to head to Monkey Beach, which is the most popular and easiest of the three trails as it’s relatively flat.
    ☑️ Monkey beach trail: www.alltrails.com/nl-nl/explo...
    2. Sunbathe On Batu Ferringhi Beach
    Batu Ferringhi Beach has powdery soft sands and turquoise waters to enjoy. It’s a great place to watch the sunset.
    1.Balik Pulau Bike Ride
    Balik Pulau is a hidden gem is covered by beautiful greenery, paddy fields, and rolling hills. It’s less populated and less developed than the rest of the island.

    • @worldwildhearts

      We didn't rent a scooter in Penang because our Malay friend advised against that. That's because Penang is very busy and it can be dangerous to drive a scooter around there. We used GRAB to get around, which is just like Uber, and it's very cheap in Malaysia! We bought all tickets when we were there!

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  4 місяці тому

      We stayed for 5-6 days but we travel slower because of our videos. I think 4 days is okay if you're planning to visit the different corners of the island (like the national park and Balik Pulau). If you're planning to stay in George Town mostly, then I'd say 2-3 days is enough!

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  11 місяців тому +2

      We didn’t rent a car because we just used Grab (like Uber but in Asia) everywhere we went. It’s so cheap (maybe 10usd for a 30mins ride), so we didn’t even bother looking into rental cars. I’d say it’s hard to drive yourself as it can be chaotic, but definitely doable and many places have some parking available

    • @kwloo778
      @kwloo778 11 місяців тому

      I would say very doable on a Sunday when traffic very much lighter and road side parking is free. Other days traffic can be busy and full of menacing motorcycles..

    We are planning to go to another city besides Kuala Lumpur but we can’t decide which one is better to have sea and also culture: Langkawi, Penang or Kota Kinabalu

    • @worldwildhearts
      @worldwildhearts  3 місяці тому

      Hmm they're both very different! Kota Kinabalu is quite far, like you'll have to take a 3 hour flight to get there. The city isn't very nice but the snorkeling is. Langkawi is really an island vibe.. lots of pretty beaches and relaxed atmosphere. Penang is busier and especially George Town is a city, but it also has some beaches and lots of culture.

    • @shubhamchaudhary2517
      @shubhamchaudhary2517 3 місяці тому

      I went to the hill. It was my worst experience in Malaysia TBH. There was a big queue due to which it took almost 2 hours to reach the top. Due to this, I arrived late for Habitat where the last entry is 5:30 PM. If I knew that all this would take so much time, in that case I would have made my plan accordingly. I just spent approx 30 mins at the top, as to get down, there was again a big queue. The management of penang hill/furnicular train is pathetic and unprofessional. And, to be frank, there is nothing to do on the top of the hill. Washrooms are in pathetic condition too. For local visitors, it may be of some value but for international tourists, I don't find anything special. We lost around 180 RN as we could not enter Habitat and Klook is helpless on this. @@worldwildhearts

    Poor penang. Though second to no one in cuisine but their officer are amongst the worst. Especially the airport officer. They are all never learn how to respect. As you know, me as indonesian often visit there for medication. I went home from penang after surgery when i was in airport. They did not even helpful but tease you after push you out from wheelchair. And keep shouting "wayang". Which is mean i faking my illness. From that moment i will never go there anymore. I choose singapore for services instead of penang. If you are really broke and need holiday so bad you can go there. If you have more money to spend believe me singapore is way more better. I am from Malaysia, the Malaysia Government and Malaysia Royal Police work closely with Myanmar Military / Junta that are killing everyone in Myanmar. Malaysian government is helping people kidnap innocent people and torturing them until they die. Please help raise awareness, google Malaysia abductions and youll see that these cases go cold because the Malaysian police are doing these crimes. This month a woman, her husband, and three CHILDREN have been missing for 4 weeks!! I dont know her but this has raised many questions in my city and everyone wants to leave Malaysia. Please do your research before coming here, foreigners are targets in Malaysia and its sad because soon nobody will come to our country!
