I bought this and totally love it! I changed the tuners to Kluson tuners (Kluson KEDPNCL3-N) and the pickup covers to cream colored to match the binding. I returned 3 sets of tuners until I found the direct drop ins in the Klusons. The new tuners add about 2oz to the headstock and PERFECTLY balance the guitar! I like this ZM better than playing my CS Les Paul!
What's amazing about this guitar is that it has the wiring for splitting the coils, for some reason it's not done out the factory but man, really makes this a versatile little guitar.
I prefer it this way if it’s a cost thing. Then I can purchase a guitar then if I feel it needs coil splitting, and get some extra cash, I can make it happen.
Damn, I wanted to love my green ZM, but at 6’4 and wide shoulders…it was simply too short. I really liked the nicely rounded fretboard, sound, and layout. If I had a signature model, it would be a 2023 Zach Myers but the size of a Hagstrom ha.
Excellent review, although you'd have to add in the technical specs to make it perfect. Still, you played a few different genres and showed the versatility of sounds this guitar produces. Great job.
Had to go back to hear "Fort Worth" ...... me too .... River Oaks kid. I got the first gen Zack M in the spalted maple top. Lot of eye candy fur shur. Same experience as you. Plays very well. Neck does feel great too.... I added push-pulls to do the split trick. So fun to play for hours. Great review. Thnx.....😊
Thanks for watching! This guitar would be great for ambient/post rock. Lots of versatility for the various soundscapes you could explore. Not to mention it plays great.
stripped mine of all the hardware/electronics and replaced w/ PRS vintage locking tuners(cream), SD Jazz Neck, Tremonti Treble w/ cream rings, full CTS electronics and PRS USA knobs. Cream on cream with this is what looks best to me, not sure why ZM mixed cream and black, but its his design. It breathes fire now and still has some unique tone due to the semi hollow design. People who've played it can't believe its an SE.
It is a very comfortable guitar with a very sweet sound and good sustain; excellent bass and mids, but for my taste when I play in the bridge position it lacks treble.
When I had one, the previous user had replaced the bridge with a Gibson 490 to balance that. I have that in my SG, but the semi hollow made that pickup scream! Did lose a bit of the PRS ‘plush’ sound, but also didn’t need a boost cause of how well it cut the mix. I miss that sound.
This by far is the best demo I've seen on this guitar, including Zach Meyers himself's demo. This is better. Bravo!
Thank you, very humbling. Mean a ton.

Just bought one a month ago, have no regrets!

Agreed
I own this guitar since 2022. Absolutely love it. Very comfortable to play and looks so pretty. Highly recommend this one.
That Zach Myers SE is one of the top 2 best looking SE guitars along with the Peacock Burst on the Hollowbody Piezo SE.
Thanks for another excellent review.. You always gives a true idea of the gear you show.

Fantastic content and review
Thanks so much for your demo. How do you think it would fare in ambient/post rock?

A lefty ZM is dropping in the fall.
I found this guitar to be horrible, never stayed in tune, bad for recording
