    I can't tell you how many curling videos I've seen on here and yours is probably the most useful one. You offer details that perhaps the others consider mundane or too basic. Thank you.

    This is the greatest internet tutorial I have ever seen... about anything. Well organized, well spoken, well planned, incredibly thorough. You had all of your things together and at hand. All of your steps were in order and well edited. Informative. Answered all my questions. Thanks for posting!

      Oh, I have a review on a curlipops reverse curling wand, you can watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/A37hB-qREhY/v-deo.html
      You'll get the hang of it in no time, and once you do it will seem so much faster and easier than an old school curling iron ;) Thanks for watching!!

      I have the regular one in orange with the glove. My hair never curls well with a clamp curling iron, so I'm excited to master this. Thanks so much for the great tips and vids! :)

    I still have this. Bought it from Sephora years ago. I just bought the limited edition shark mainly for the blow dryer and defuser. The barrels work to curl my hair even though they are short. the Amika curly wand is my favorite to curl my hair with.

    Hi Rebecca! I followed you here from an LFR Fam review. Excellent tutorial! I suggest something else for the ends of the hair strand. Curl each strand any way you choose, but skip the ends. Let curls cool completely. Change to a regular curling iron and finish the ends, allowing the clip of the iron to hold the ends for you.
    Take a cooled curl by the bottom. Grab it with the curling iron, about 1-2 inches up the strand- whatever is comfortable for you. Slide the curling iron down until the ends are inside the clamp. Roll the curling iron up as high as needed, and count to 10. Release. Is the curl as tight as you want? You're done.
    If you want it tighter, repeat the process, but count to to 15 or 20. Release. This way, there's no stressing about those ends, so no chance of burning your hair while you fiddle with the ends of the strand.

    Thank you for the great video!
    This is likely something everyone else already knows, but I’m new to wands. When I’m trying to twist my hair around the barrel, I tend to “run out of real estate” on my wand, leaving a good-sized portion of my hair uncurled. I’ve tried only curling the bottom parts, which, I guess is okay, but not what I had in mind. I’ve also failed miserably trying to curl the top parts, then trying (unsuccessfully) to start where the curls leave off. Yeah. No. Maybe more experienced folks can do this, but I just can’t seem to get the second curl to line up properly.
    My main “problem” is having “naturally curly” hair and I honestly didn’t know what a wand was, nor did I have the skills to use a traditional curling iron correctly! (I am 49 years old and have only in the past month or so learned that to get the organized spiraling that I wanted, you did NOT start by catching the ends of your hair with the clamp and roll upward, starting from the ends!
    Any input or advice in re dealing with my issue (described above) would be greatly appreciated!
    :-)

    thank you for sharing this! i just got an EVA NYC 4P interchangeable barrel set and was overwhelmed as to where to start. i've used a 1.5" clip barrel before and didn't know how to use clipless barrels and what the different sizes can do. i'd add 1 tip: hair should be completely dry before curling. what i'd need some input on is the temperature setting. my wand comes with a digital reading and i can set it to a specific temperature. what temperature setting works for chemically treated (always colored) fine hair? i asked my stylist at the salon to curl my hair using their wand and she used 230 degrees at around 6 seconds per section.

    • @TheRebeccaReviews
      @TheRebeccaReviews  8 років тому

      +Rica Ramos Santos oh yes, definitely wait until your hair is dry! Yeah, I would say for your hair you should go with a lower setting. As you get more comfortable you can experiment with raising the heat for the desired look, just be careful! Nobody wants to be that girl who burned her hair off! LOL

    Great tips! I've only used the old fashion curling iron until today and OH MY GOODNESS!!! Where have I've been all this time? I have very thin hair and not alot of it to make things worse. My hair is very long (small of my back) and lately it's been looking really sad. I was thinking of cutting it all off but decided to try a curling wand. It was so easy and fast! My curls lasted all day (with the curling iron I was lucky if 8 made it out with a bit of a curl). I will use your tips on getting a fuller look. Thanks!

    Hi Rebecca, I just sub to your channel. This video was the first I watched as I just bought a curling wand. Other videos and I watched a lot, gave zero tips, so thank you so much! Really helped me. I haven't used it yet. I have very thick mid length hair, wavy, pain in the rear end hair to be honest lol! I washed it yesterday let it air dry. Today I flat ironed it for the first time in over a year. I've been staying away from heat because I'm letting my hair grow out after a former hair dresser butchered me, yeah. Sorry, don't mean to write you a small novel here 😀 tomorrow I'll try my new wand. It came with Aragon oil & glove too. Thanks again! Peace 💕💕💕

    This was a great video! Hopefully I can do better. I just tried mine for the first time and it didn't do too well. My hair is thick and I didn't section it. Thanks for the video!

    Thank you! I've always used a traditional curling iron, and I'm curious about the wands. These are great tips for starters, but I really want to know the benefits of using a curling wand vs. a curling iron. It seems like a lot of trouble to use a wand, and the curling irons have that convenient clip on them.

      Once you get used to it, curling wands are very quick and easy to use. You don't have to worry about creasing from the clip, and you get really lovely sprial curls because you are starting at the base of your hair. Curling wands are useful if you are curling the ends of your hair, especially for shorter hair. Most people find that the curls last longer with curling wands too. I use both, depending on the look I'm going for :)
      I hope that helps!

    Rebecca... this video was great thank you so much!!! I only have one question that I can't seem to find from anyone.... Do you have to start with straight hair?? my hair has lots of natural wave to it.. I am just looking for more curl?? should I straighten it first???

    • @TheRebeccaReviews
      @TheRebeccaReviews  10 років тому +2

      No need to start with straight hair :) As long as you pull the sections straight in order to wrap them around the curling wand. If you try to loosely wrap your hair the natural wave my end up just looking wonky. Honestly you should have no problems :)

    Thank you for making this video, I just got a new curling wand for Christmas and now I know how to use it and Cool on # 9 I never knew this one in my lifetime of curling my hair ... that the cooler it is the more the curls will stay and I have very fine hair so I don’t like to use heavy sprays because the curls have fallen out, what products would you suggest to use so they don’t fall out after letting my hair cool?

    • @TheRebeccaReviews
      @TheRebeccaReviews  5 років тому

      Try a spray that’s meant for loose hold. My current favorite is Marc Anthony coconut oil volume hairspray- it smells great too!
