Brad: "Let the hair tell you how it wants to be curled today" Me: "cool, cool, so we're doing a ponytail today" Thanks for the awesome tips and tricks Brad!
I've always had problems with holding curls with curling irons. But I once did foam rollers and the ringlets and waves stayed for two full days. What's important is that with heat what fixes the hair into position is not actually the heating part but the cool down. With rollers you gotta get your hair damp ans then dry to the point where its 80% dry and then you curl it. You leave it till it dries or over night covered with a turban, the drying is what sets the curls.
I really want Brad to put on the wigs and do these on himself. I'm so uncoordinated when looking in a mirror and I always get so disoriented trying to curl my hair.
You know theyre not wigs? They are hard plastic cap and there's a screw in there. Unless your head is REALLY small and has a huge hole for a screw you can't put them on.
@@Meike164 I didn't mean to insinuate that the hair he's doing these on are wigs, but I see how you got that from my comment. I just mean that he's showing us how to style our own hair by doing it on a mannequin, which would not help me at all because of how uncoordinated I am, so I think it would be fun if he put on a wig and then tried the techniques on himself with the wig on.

After you take a shower try putting some loose braids in and keep them in until your hair completely dries. Or put a bunch of little ones for more dramatic small waves. ❤
Put your hair up in a high tight bun by twisting the hair. Or two buns for smaller curls. Do it when your hair is only slightly damp and sleep in it over night 🙃
I have short hair too (barely touches my shoulders) and am so jealous of all the medium length and long hair people who can do the braid and high bun method curls. I've found that blow drying my hair till its 75% dry and then letting it finish drying in self gripping curlers while I do my makeup is the easiest way for me to get a pretty curl. It's not totally heatless but you could let it air dry until its 75% dry instead of using a hair dryer.
A simple hack that worked for me was wrapping my hair around my tank top's straps! My hair was medium to long lenght and it stayed like this all night longè I had loose curls in the morning :)

I gotta say, if you're not watching Brad Mondo in 1.25 speed or faster, you are *not* getting the full serotonin hit! I love this! I grew up watching the old style of clamp at the bottom and barrel roll the hair around the iron. It always look awful on me! I appreciate you telling us what you're going for with each method. I'm finally understanding what I need to do to get what I want!
I’ve been really really wanting to chop all my hair off (it currently falls to my butt) but I’ve been worried about not knowing how to style short hair!! This video inspired me! I’m calling my girl first thing tomorrow! Love your videos!!🤞🏼❤️
Can you do a video where you curl naturally curly hair? I feel as someone that has naturally curly hair if you choose to curl it, the hair acts different
I have natural curls but my sister has long straight hair which she hates, this video is super useful and helpful, so now I can be a great older sister and do her hair!
Hello beautiful! I'm a bit of a frumpy mum of two and loving learning from your videos. I've already changed my haircare routine and it feels so much healthier. Still not changed my style but it's a start.....
I would love to see more videos like this, it would be super cool if you taught us how to style face framing pieces(: I feel like my hair always looks bomb but when it comes to the front I don't know how to properly curl those layers so I feel like it kind of messes up the look. Love you brad ❤️
Hi Brad.... My hair is layered similar to the FARRAH FAWCETT hair style... I'm having problems separating the hair when gathering the amount of hair I need to put in the curling iron... I like to curl the front of my hair away from my face to achieve the FARRAH style. Can you do a video showing how to curl layered hair away from Face to achieve that FARRAH flip? Thanks very much. You seem like such a nice person.
When I was 11 I did my hair for a Christmas dinner at school and I did my hair. First I went in with the flat iron and straightened my curly frizzy hair that was 28 inches atm. After half and hour I was done with straightening alone. After that I went in with my curling iron and that took another hour. The bad thing was, while I was curling the one side, the other side collapsed and the damn curls weren’t even the same💀 so I had to go in another quick round on the side that collapsed. After the night on school my hair looked so f**king good. It was like kinda wavy but clean and I was obsessed. Unfortunately, it took me 2 and a half hours and I didn’t wanna go trough that again. Buuuuuuut a week ago I cut 10 inches of my hair and for me it’s pretty short. I might try it again, who knows🤷🏻♀️😌 Idk why I just wrote this. If your not interested just scroll and don’t come for me😙✌🏻 Bye kids
Brad: Hi beautiful. You look incredible. Thank you for being here. Me: No Brad thank you for being here. You wonderful upvoting comments are Greatly appreciated. We all love you
This is kinda random but isn’t it kinda ironic that a lot of curly/wavy haired people want straight hair and some people with straight hair wish they had curly or wavy hair. You are in control of your hair but always remember that your hair is beautiful the way it grows out of your head!
I think it is a mentality of "wanting what you don't have". I personally always loved curls and waves, because my hair is super straight and it will not hold a curl. Even with hairspray, so I had to come to terms with my straight, silky hair texture and honestly I love it now. Low maintenance works better for me.
Elina Leimane -- I agree. I have very straight hair that refuses to hold a curl. I've given up on wanting what I can't have. However for years I wished my hair could have glamorous curls.
i agree. i used to pay so much money on expensive treatments to make my hair flat and straight. then i travelled a bit and saw that beauty comes in more than one shape/size/hairstyle. so i embraced my wavy hair, and with right products it looks great. what is even funnier, now i need 15-20min to dry it and style it, i just put it in a loose bun with hair clip and its stays wavy for days
Caitlyn Martin my hair is wavy and I do all of the things, I do a pretty even mix of air dry and wave, curly, straight, all of the things. Hair is such a great form of expression 😁
When I was blonde (naturally blonde) I wanted darker hair. Then I thought "Hey, white would look so cool" and when I graduately bleached it white I was like, nah, purple's the thing. Long story short my hairstylist forbid me to touch any colour for at least six months.
Brad saying how he likes the combination curls thingy while me sitting here who has never used any styling iron and is looking to get one because I thought my natural waves/curls that I woke up to every morning is too tame and abstract is honestly making me not want to buy any styling iron and motivated me to keep my super healthy no-heat hair lifestyle instead and wow was that a mouthful :D
Loved your flat iron video, will try out these tips, too! I have short hair, growing it out to long, and I couldn’t find a right way to make it look stylish until I found your flat iron video. Those flat waves finally made me feel beautiful after a 1,5 year of tideous growing out procces from a pixie cut. Forever grateful for your tips!
I curl my hair every single day but its always the same so this was actually a good video for me. I didnt know there was so many different styles of curls you could get with a curling iron👌🏼
I totally agree that a curling iron can create magic! I got my brunette hair balayage’d yesterday and they curled it after. I am officially hooked on the curling iron! Between the color and style, I look five years younger!
Thank you for this video ❤️ I've had a shoulder length Bob for about 7 months now and I get so frustrated trying to make it have that natural wave/curl. My hair is naturally curly and wavy mixed but always looks like I was electrocuted once it dries so I have to straighten it. But then It just stays straight. I have so many different barrel sizes and today I found this video and I finally got the look I've been trying to achieve all this time. Ugh. Life changer. Thank you. I'm ready for my date night ❤️💪🏼
Thanks for the tip, my wedding is in May and I bought a curling iron to do my hair. So wish I could afford to pay you to do it! You make it all look so awesome!
Brad: hello beautiful, you look stunning today. Me: (literally every time I watch him, hair in a bun, slouching in my pjs, breaking out with no makeup on) awwww braaaad ♥️♥️♥️
Iv just had an asymmetrical bob put into my hair and I cannot wait to start wearing my hair like this moving forward. I have super tight naturally curly hair (which seems to not be in fashion or look nice) so il start using heat again to my hair to straighten out and create waves 🙏🏻 wish me luck. Il send a picture Brad! Il try this tomorrow on freshly washed hair.
Brad, I am 19 and trying to get into a hair dressing apprenticeship as I love love hair and love making people feel good about themselves through their hair. You are my inspiration! 💕
Hey I started watching a couple years ago and have been hooked ever since!! I finally got the courage at 39 to go back to school in cosmetology. I have picked up on things pretty well, but damn that marcel!!! I have been pretty fluent with styling tools and have been using the Curuso steam curl set since middle school (went through 4 or 5) , and I know how to use a flat iron and a regular curling iron....but learning the. Marcel took 3 smoke break and 2 buckets of tears (not so much crying but felt like it) . I finally got the concept of it but it's going to take some practice to get the hang of it!!
Fun fact: I have very curly hair. I (technically) really don’t need to know this stuff. But I’m still gonna watch a over 20 minutes long video just because I love the way Brad explains things and educates me Edit: at 4 am 😂 my sleep schedule is broken
I wish my curls would last long! I live in a very humid place and my hair is thick and prone to frizz. When I curl my hair it falls instantly! These styles are sooo pretty
I haven't used a marcel iron since cosmetology school. They taught us to do it with one hand and it was challenging at first. Marcels are perfect for vintage waves. I have to start using it again.
So fun to see this video. I collect vintage curling irons! My best is a 1920 Subpedo Marcel electric marcel iron, i just wish I had a power adapter for it.
The “drop” in the “curl and drop” technique shows me who’s boss EVERY time...🙁 I can NEVER get it right...BTW, thank you for pointing out “the hook.” Now I know how NOT to get them. 🇨🇦💕👏
Its 1:53 am here right now... I just cut my hair a week ago, and I'm trying to absorb all of the knowledge while restraining myself, really wanting to go do my hair 😅
hehe my 4 year old son saw you for the fist time yesterday on TV and he goes "mom does he like pink?" I said "ya he does!" and he goes "oh I do too just like him!" 😍😍😍
Ok but why is this video so underrated???! I don't even remember getting it's notification! Luckily i found your video wheni was looking for how to curl my hair :D
Okay real talk though, him saying “just put some hair spray on it and will stay all night” made me laugh because I can’t get curls to stay more than like 2 hours max 😭
My hair won’t hold a curl either, it’s so slippery. I use a heat protectant lotion when I blow dry, then I use Rusk Working Spray for heat styling. I spray it all over before starting then I spray it on each strand before and after curling, and I let the curls set for 20 minutes before raking my fingers in my hair. Then one last spray of hairspray to finish it off. It lasts until my next wash day. Oh make sure you’re sleeping on a silk or satin pillowcase. The curls stay in longer with that.
Try using a mousse in your hair before blow drying, then spray your hair with hair spray a little bit and brush it out. Then do your curls and hold each one in your hands a few seconds before letting them down and spray them with hairspray right after. Then only go through it with your fingers and after that spray with hairspray again😄 a lot of work and a lot of hairspray but that worked for me😄

I have struggled with a lot of health issues and problems as myself and I always used to cute my old fringe snd it wouldn’t grow shave pieces if my hair and I never knew how to cope. Now watching his videos helps me so so so much xx
"What is ThAt?! THATS DISGUSTING!" 😂😂
*Brad is the only person who calls me beautiful all the time :")*
Anytime I feel low, I come to Brad's channel just to hear him say to me "hi beautiful, you look incredible".
Thank you darling
*Hands down the best restoration of anything i have ever seen. Absolutely beautiful*
Can you do a video where you curl naturally curly hair? I feel as someone that has naturally curly hair if you choose to curl it, the hair acts different
Facts I’m jealous of my friends hair when they curl it
You’re supposed to blow dry your hair before curling:) so it makes no difference if you’re naturally curly or not. I’m naturally curly too
“hi beautiful, you look incredible”
me in bed, the 3rd day in a row with the flu in sweats and unwashed hair: 🥰🥰🥰
LOVESE0K feel better!
Is also sick..after working a 12hr shift and Brad's like your beautiful and im like . You wouldn't be saying that if you could see me Brad.
Washing hair is overrated
Ugh same, honey, I've been sick for a week now, hope you recover soon 🙏🏻
@@aamu3 You too!!
I have natural curls but my sister has long straight hair which she hates, this video is super useful and helpful, so now I can be a great older sister and do her hair!
I like how Brad said: “How to have a chic bedhead after sex kinda moment!” That it’s a vibe. OMG!!! 😂🤩❤️
Hello beautiful! I'm a bit of a frumpy mum of two and loving learning from your videos. I've already changed my haircare routine and it feels so much healthier. Still not changed my style but it's a start.....
can we just appreciate how Brad always starts a video by complimenting us
Literally was just about to curl my hair. 😂
Perfect XD
OMG ME TOO
Will you do a video of hairstylists from the 80's compared to modern stylists and how the hair generation has evolved?

I might try it again, who knows🤷🏻♀️😌
Idk why I just wrote this. If your not interested just scroll and don’t come for me😙✌🏻
Bye kids
Brad: Hi beautiful. You look incredible. Thank you for being here.
Me: No Brad thank you for being here. You wonderful upvoting comments are Greatly appreciated. We all love you
Brad: Look how little time that took.
Me with hair 3 times as the mannequin: Yes that was fast. I should try it.
Same 😂😭

Could you do one on how to style extensions ? Curly/long loose curls??
"Practice. And dont burn your face" literally sums up me when I started curling my hair on my own constant burns lol
him : you look beautiful.
me : ilyt bro. you look handsome as usual.
I just love how Brad compliments us every single time 😍 makes my day 🤗
Iv just had an asymmetrical bob put into my hair and I cannot wait to start wearing my hair like this moving forward. I have super tight naturally curly hair (which seems to not be in fashion or look nice) so il start using heat again to my hair to straighten out and create waves 🙏🏻 wish me luck. Il send a picture Brad! Il try this tomorrow on freshly washed hair.
I go to cosmo school and when I first got my marcel iron I hated it, but now I will NEVER go back to spring irons. I love it so much💕
The new intro is the VIBE I didn't know I needed, its amazing well done 😂
Emma Watson thanks babe!!
@@BradMondo you're welcome!
Watching you style hair is so relaxing. More of this please!
*cat walks in front of phone right when the video starts*
brad: hello you’re beautiful
me: you hear that cheli, you’re beautiful 😌
But I’m still gonna watch a over 20 minutes long video just because I love the way Brad explains things and educates me
Edit: at 4 am 😂 my sleep schedule is broken
I wish my curls would last long! I live in a very humid place and my hair is thick and prone to frizz. When I curl my hair it falls instantly! These styles are sooo pretty
Madison Burke i can link a spray to help you rectify this if you like? It is a god send!
Melissa Louise Madden yeah definitely! I’d love to try it
Brad: says he's going to start with the purple section
Also Brad: reaches for the teal section
I haven't used a marcel iron since cosmetology school. They taught us to do it with one hand and it was challenging at first. Marcels are perfect for vintage waves. I have to start using it again.
So fun to see this video. I collect vintage curling irons! My best is a 1920 Subpedo Marcel electric marcel iron, i just wish I had a power adapter for it.
The “drop” in the “curl and drop” technique shows me who’s boss EVERY time...🙁 I can NEVER get it right...BTW, thank you for pointing out “the hook.” Now I know how NOT to get them. 🇨🇦💕👏
Watching this in bed at 12:30am and now I want to curl my hair

For me, it's more like half an hour!
same!!!
Then only go through it with your fingers and after that spray with hairspray again😄 a lot of work and a lot of hairspray but that worked for me😄
Overnight curls are the only ones that will work in my hair. I've been using the scarf/ robe tie method.
