I’m a 39 year old dude who has now come the point in my life where I need to watch curling videos so my 6 year old gets the hair she wants. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this inept yet excited to learn
When I was 11 I did my hair for a Christmas dinner at school and I did my hair. First I went in with the flat iron and straightened my curly frizzy hair that was 28 inches atm. After half and hour I was done with straightening alone. After that I went in with my curling iron and that took another hour. The bad thing was, while I was curling the one side, the other side collapsed and the damn curls weren’t even the same💀 so I had to go in another quick round on the side that collapsed. After the night on school my hair looked so f**king good. It was like kinda wavy but clean and I was obsessed. Unfortunately, it took me 2 and a half hours and I didn’t wanna go trough that again. Buuuuuuut a week ago I cut 10 inches of my hair and for me it’s pretty short. I might try it again, who knows🤷🏻♀️😌 Idk why I just wrote this. If your not interested just scroll and don’t come for me😙✌🏻 Bye kids
Hey Brad! I have a question, I wanna learn how to make cool braids in hair and I need like a kinda cheap head with hair but it also needs to be soft so it doesnt get tangled all the time. Do you have any links or suggestions on what I should get? I think my max is like 40 dollars
The quickest way to curl long hair is to tie it up in a high ponytail and then curl the hair coming out of the ponytail. then after youve curled it all then you pull it out of the ponytail and fluff and curl the single ones you missed with is hardly any. This can also be done with shorter hair as long as you can pull a fair amount out to get enough curl to it. Its the quickest and can last for days. It actually looks curlier then what maniqwin has on her head.
@@jelousmoth having to be in class 5 days a week 8 hours a day while still trying to make enough money to pay rent, bills, expensive supplies…oh yeah and tons of homework and reading and trying to get models to practice on so you can build a social media account
Brad: "Let the hair tell you how it wants to be curled today" Me: "cool, cool, so we're doing a ponytail today" Thanks for the awesome tips and tricks Brad!
I've always had problems with holding curls with curling irons. But I once did foam rollers and the ringlets and waves stayed for two full days. What's important is that with heat what fixes the hair into position is not actually the heating part but the cool down. With rollers you gotta get your hair damp ans then dry to the point where its 80% dry and then you curl it. You leave it till it dries or over night covered with a turban, the drying is what sets the curls.
Sydney Snyder i learned by myself is 3rd grade then in 5-6th grade i used a straightener then in 7th i started using a wand and i saw a lot of people doing lose curls with a clamp curling iron and i prefer lose curls than tight curls and it took me a week ish to learn but just remember curl away from your face and just keep practicing on yourself like people curl with their curling iron up right or like upside down where it just falls down but yeah
I really want Brad to put on the wigs and do these on himself. I'm so uncoordinated when looking in a mirror and I always get so disoriented trying to curl my hair.
You know theyre not wigs? They are hard plastic cap and there's a screw in there. Unless your head is REALLY small and has a huge hole for a screw you can't put them on.
@@Meike164 I didn't mean to insinuate that the hair he's doing these on are wigs, but I see how you got that from my comment. I just mean that he's showing us how to style our own hair by doing it on a mannequin, which would not help me at all because of how uncoordinated I am, so I think it would be fun if he put on a wig and then tried the techniques on himself with the wig on.
Ok I’m THAT girl who kept having “hooks” in her hair every time she would use a clamp iron and never knew why-thank you for FINALLY helping me understand why that always happens to me. I literally just switched to a wand to avoid the problem because I could never get it right with a clamp!
I can't stand clip curlings irons but I also have trouble keeping my hair on the curling iron when I use a want but I personally prefer the wand also because of how the size changes
Okay real talk though, him saying “just put some hair spray on it and will stay all night” made me laugh because I can’t get curls to stay more than like 2 hours max 😭
My hair won’t hold a curl either, it’s so slippery. I use a heat protectant lotion when I blow dry, then I use Rusk Working Spray for heat styling. I spray it all over before starting then I spray it on each strand before and after curling, and I let the curls set for 20 minutes before raking my fingers in my hair. Then one last spray of hairspray to finish it off. It lasts until my next wash day. Oh make sure you’re sleeping on a silk or satin pillowcase. The curls stay in longer with that.
Try using a mousse in your hair before blow drying, then spray your hair with hair spray a little bit and brush it out. Then do your curls and hold each one in your hands a few seconds before letting them down and spray them with hairspray right after. Then only go through it with your fingers and after that spray with hairspray again😄 a lot of work and a lot of hairspray but that worked for me😄
Usually people that are like... “outgoing” as him drive me crazy and I just instantly can’t stand them, but for whatever reason I just love him. He’s just got such a good vibe and he carries himself so well
The “drop” in the “curl and drop” technique shows me who’s boss EVERY time...🙁 I can NEVER get it right...BTW, thank you for pointing out “the hook.” Now I know how NOT to get them. 🇨🇦💕👏

I like to curl the front of my hair away from my face to achieve the FARRAH style. Can you do a video showing how to curl layered hair away from Face to achieve that FARRAH flip? Thanks very much. I cut my hair short recently and I LOVE it, but it does need more styling now and I don’t want to use heat on my hair every single day. Are there useful tricks to get waves/curls without heat? Which one did you find to work on your clients or friends who told you their experience? Would love to see a video about this ❤️🤩
After you take a shower try putting some loose braids in and keep them in until your hair completely dries. Or put a bunch of little ones for more dramatic small waves. ❤
Put your hair up in a high tight bun by twisting the hair. Or two buns for smaller curls. Do it when your hair is only slightly damp and sleep in it over night 🙃
I have short hair too (barely touches my shoulders) and am so jealous of all the medium length and long hair people who can do the braid and high bun method curls. I've found that blow drying my hair till its 75% dry and then letting it finish drying in self gripping curlers while I do my makeup is the easiest way for me to get a pretty curl. It's not totally heatless but you could let it air dry until its 75% dry instead of using a hair dryer.
A simple hack that worked for me was wrapping my hair around my tank top's straps! My hair was medium to long lenght and it stayed like this all night longè I had loose curls in the morning :)
as someone w long heavy hair that falls out of most of the curls he’s showing in like 10 minutes! i use a setting lotion or mousse before a heat protectant, then go for smth a lil more along the lines of what he calls more polished (either the first one or the wand thing) using fairly small sections on a smaller iron (the one i like the most is 5/8ths, but even a 1 inch iron is nice - it means you start w more curl, so when they start to drop you don’t lose all the curl as fast). hold the hair on the iron until it feels hot against a finger, and when you let go, push/wrap/wind it back into a lil donut curl shape with your hands and pin it up with a clip or a bobby pin until it cools. makes sectioning/telling what’s curled and what isn’t easier, and if you leave them to cool in that curled position before you brush them out or style them, they last wayyyy longer. that’s a lot of words, but it’s what I’ve found works for me, and my hair really doesn’t like heat set curls otherwise :)
Can you do a video where you curl naturally curly hair? I feel as someone that has naturally curly hair if you choose to curl it, the hair acts different
This is kinda random but isn’t it kinda ironic that a lot of curly/wavy haired people want straight hair and some people with straight hair wish they had curly or wavy hair. You are in control of your hair but always remember that your hair is beautiful the way it grows out of your head!
I think it is a mentality of "wanting what you don't have". I personally always loved curls and waves, because my hair is super straight and it will not hold a curl. Even with hairspray, so I had to come to terms with my straight, silky hair texture and honestly I love it now. Low maintenance works better for me.
Elina Leimane -- I agree. I have very straight hair that refuses to hold a curl. I've given up on wanting what I can't have. However for years I wished my hair could have glamorous curls.
i agree. i used to pay so much money on expensive treatments to make my hair flat and straight. then i travelled a bit and saw that beauty comes in more than one shape/size/hairstyle. so i embraced my wavy hair, and with right products it looks great. what is even funnier, now i need 15-20min to dry it and style it, i just put it in a loose bun with hair clip and its stays wavy for days
Caitlyn Martin my hair is wavy and I do all of the things, I do a pretty even mix of air dry and wave, curly, straight, all of the things. Hair is such a great form of expression 😁
When I was blonde (naturally blonde) I wanted darker hair. Then I thought "Hey, white would look so cool" and when I graduately bleached it white I was like, nah, purple's the thing. Long story short my hairstylist forbid me to touch any colour for at least six months.
I had the same mason and pearson brush my whole life since i was literally 7 years old and i lost it on holiday and even made an insurance claim on it. can't live with out it, definitely an investment. people thought i was nuts having a $400 hair brush but it lasts and makes such a difference for me
Its 1:53 am here right now... I just cut my hair a week ago, and I'm trying to absorb all of the knowledge while restraining myself, really wanting to go do my hair 😅
I curl my hair every time I wash it it looks so much better than a straightener! I have wavy/curly hair and I can never style it curly because I touch my hair too much! 😂
I’ve been really really wanting to chop all my hair off (it currently falls to my butt) but I’ve been worried about not knowing how to style short hair!! This video inspired me! I’m calling my girl first thing tomorrow! Love your videos!!🤞🏼❤️

After you take a shower try putting some loose braids in and keep them in until your hair completely dries. Or put a bunch of little ones for more dramatic small waves. ❤
Esther Mirjam do pin curls or rag curls. Or even those pink cushy rollers.
My day is already made because Brad said”hi beautiful”to me I feel special🤩
Same. Makes me smile every time.
I need to watch his videos first thing. I think it might help set the tone for the day... time to experiment!
If I brushed my hair I would look like a lion that went through a tornado during an electric storm
You and me both smh 🤦🏼♀️, stylists say I have the hair of 8 people, so if I curled my hair my arms would probably fall off from taking all day. LoL
@@Danielle-mg5lf I get it, then it will last half an hour before looking as if you didn't touch it
I’m so happy that he included a tutorial for short hair as well. I recently cut my hair and found it soooooo helpful. Thank you brad 🙃
Every time I curl my hair a few hours later It goes back to my naturally straight hair smh 🙄
Rameesa Khan that’s why he says to add mousse or spray before you curl it! It’ll help the hold gf xoxo
Or bf.. sorry for assuming lol
Gf 😂😂thanks
as someone w long heavy hair that falls out of most of the curls he’s showing in like 10 minutes! i use a setting lotion or mousse before a heat protectant, then go for smth a lil more along the lines of what he calls more polished (either the first one or the wand thing) using fairly small sections on a smaller iron (the one i like the most is 5/8ths, but even a 1 inch iron is nice - it means you start w more curl, so when they start to drop you don’t lose all the curl as fast). hold the hair on the iron until it feels hot against a finger, and when you let go, push/wrap/wind it back into a lil donut curl shape with your hands and pin it up with a clip or a bobby pin until it cools. makes sectioning/telling what’s curled and what isn’t easier, and if you leave them to cool in that curled position before you brush them out or style them, they last wayyyy longer. that’s a lot of words, but it’s what I’ve found works for me, and my hair really doesn’t like heat set curls otherwise :)
Or Maby your hair is too long to hold waves
Can you do a video where you curl naturally curly hair? I feel as someone that has naturally curly hair if you choose to curl it, the hair acts different
Facts I’m jealous of my friends hair when they curl it
You’re supposed to blow dry your hair before curling:) so it makes no difference if you’re naturally curly or not. I’m naturally curly too
This is kinda random but isn’t it kinda ironic that a lot of curly/wavy haired people want straight hair and some people with straight hair wish they had curly or wavy hair.
Me: ah, I'll just skip forward to the "short" section
Me at the 20 minute mark of a 23minute video: f@*k my hair hasn't been that long since I was 9
I had the same mason and pearson brush my whole life since i was literally 7 years old and i lost it on holiday and even made an insurance claim on it. can't live with out it, definitely an investment. people thought i was nuts having a $400 hair brush but it lasts and makes such a difference for me
LoL don’t feel bad I paid $700 for the big one
Brad: says he's going to start with the purple section
Also Brad: reaches for the teal section
I’m seriously offended that I didn’t get a notification for this. Happy 4 million, Brad! I’ve been watching you for years, and it’s amazing you grow.
Omg, right!?! Me too! 😡
Watching brad curling the mannequin's hair makes me wanna curl my hair now and its already 1amXD
"Practice. And dont burn your face" literally sums up me when I started curling my hair on my own constant burns lol
Looking at Brad: are we back in 2000s again?
With nostalgia phases, we very well just might be entering it again lol
Watching this in bed at 12:30am and now I want to curl my hair
Its 1:53 am here right now... I just cut my hair a week ago, and I'm trying to absorb all of the knowledge while restraining myself, really wanting to go do my hair 😅
“You look incredible”
I’m dying from strep throat but 💁🏼♀️
Hope you feel better soon!!
So am I... sore throat and earache... hope WE get better soon.
Original.

White Clouds & Unicorns 🙄 the infection in my throat is more fun than you 😂
I curl my hair every time I wash it it looks so much better than a straightener! I have wavy/curly hair and I can never style it curly because I touch my hair too much! 😂
Me: I want to do fabulous things with my hair too!
My cowlicks: No, ponytail!
I am loving this darker base and highlights on you, Brad! Makes your eyes pop.
Me: laying on the couch sick with a fever
Brad: “Hi beautiful, you look incredible”
Me: 🥺
Same hahaha😂
21:38 Find yourself an S.O. that looks at you like Brad looks at his freshly styled mannequin heads :)
Me: Man I look terrible
Brad: Hello Beautiful you look gorgeous today
Me thank u 😢
Me: has very short, quite curly hair
Also me: yeah this hair curling tutorial will be very useful
I’ve been really really wanting to chop all my hair off (it currently falls to my butt) but I’ve been worried about not knowing how to style short hair!! This video inspired me! I’m calling my girl first thing tomorrow! Love your videos!!🤞🏼❤️
I've been curling my hair wrong this whole time.
What I love about this video, and most videos he does, is that he is so into it. You can tell he loves hair. I love people who are passionate about what they show on UA-cam!
Me: I'm going to use quarantine to give my hair a huge break from product and heat
Also me: *watches hair videos* should I use quarantine to practice doing my hair? *Eyes curling iron*
I'm so indecisive oof
I can't be the only one that freaks out when something hot is next to my head
Fun fact: I have very curly hair. I (technically) really don’t need to know this stuff. But I’m still gonna watch a over 20 minutes long video just because I love the way Brad explains things and educates me
Edit: at 4 am 😂 my sleep schedule is broken
