GlamFam thanks because you knew damn well we was gone ask about that popping ass shirt you sporting
So like, with the mannequins, would you recommend synthetic hair or real hair for beginners?
You have beautiful hands 😍🙌
Since I just had my hair colored on Sunday, how can I curl my hair without damaging the color? (It's purple)
You may want to opt for more heat free methods of styling like dampening the hair and setting it on a flexi-rod. Direct heat can often strip certain fashion colors
I’ve been a tomboy my whole life and am starting to get in touch with my “feminine” side. I‘ve been learning how to doll myself up with makeup and hair, but curling/straightening hair has totally scared me the most. This video was so helpful, I’ll definitely be getting those gloves after this! Thank you!
That sounds like a really fun journey to be on.
All the best x
Same
me too i got cosmetology classes and i kind of regret it but i learn some interesting facts! keep trying and dont be scared to burn yourself
Same. I have been natural for 15 years with NO heat at all. Back in high school I had a relaxer and went to salon each week. Am so scared of these heat tools, but want to start doing straight hair for winter. I need all the info I can get to prevent damage. Linwood is a good teacher thoughtful. I am gonna watch some Glam Twins vids too.
same same same same!!!
💜💜...We don't bake cookies at some of these heat settings...😂😂😂
Lol true story!
Truth!
😂😂😂😂 yaaasss lol he is definitely speaking the truth! New subscriber here! Thanks
No kidding
I used to flat iron my hair at 450°. It’s really thick and curly but still it didn’t need that. My hair was frizzy and broken off. So please don’t use anything that hot.
This was so helpful because I can’t curl for nothing. But I’ll give it another whirl
I hope it helps out! 😊👍🏽
Lol ugh me too I look crazy rn but won't give up now
Delores McEachern Exactly! Same.
Was that a pun
You are not alone 🤣 imma keep trying instead of giving up this time I’ll get it eventually
Finally. Finally! I learned to curl my hair *properly* with a wand exactly like yours. I've had it for five years and kept getting Shirley Temple curls. I wanted beach waves. I finally learned out to do it.
You have such a clear, easy to understand teaching style. Ty!
The same here!!! I’m so glad I stumbled upon this video! I’ve had this same Babyliss curling wand for years and could never get my curls right, I was only getting those Shirley Temple ones!
He meant what he said. BEGINNER tutorial! So informative and by far the best video for beginners! Thank you!!!!!!!
“Her name is Vanessa” 😂😂
I thought it was a real person until I saw the stand! 😂😂😂😂
My daughter watches tutorials all the time, and they drive me nuts. YOU ARE AWESOME! You're not over the top. You explain why you're doing what you're doing. I dig, man! Thank you!
Thanks so much! I’m so thankful for that!
I've been curling my hair wrong then😂 omg I learned so much from this video thank you so much you describe these steps so well
i did my little sister's hair for homecoming tonight and this video saved the day for sure!! i was so proud of how they turned out, and she loved them. it took a few strands to get the hang of it, but once i did, they looked just like yours! thank you!!
Thank you so much for the video! I learned everything. How to hold, possible product to use, technique, & that I'm cut out for a flat iron - the best. My daughters had the wand sitting way back in the back of the closet & this was a spring clean find.
Thank you for explaining the different hair types and heat settings. Also, how to wrap to get and beach wave VS a standard curl. Soooo helpful!! You are amazing.
Hey! I was a complete first time amateur trying to Curl my locks with a wand my parents gave me years ago. You seriously helped a girl out with her first time doing her hair with a wand! Thank you so much I was able to navigate the rest pretty easily ☺💫
Once again, I’ve learned a lot. Using the little stand portion to balance the curling wand while curling is an awesome tip. Thank you Linwood. Be blessed
Thank you! Yeah, doing that makes you less likely to burn the clients scalp. I’ve seen many students go wrong on that one! Lol
My pleasure! Thank you for watching!
Such a life saver!!! I had to help my grandmother do her hair today- never done anyones hair aside from mine- with a straightener.
NOW I understand why my beachy wave attempt looked like a Shirley Temple curl, LOL! Your tutorials are so helpful and well presented, I'd love to have you as a cosmetology teacher. Much Love from New Mexico USA!
Perfect I have never been able successful with doing wand curls
I hope this helps then! 😊👍🏽💜
Yeah me to and my hair is to long even tho it's not that long
I''ve had my "wand" for over a year and it's been sitting in my closet for over a year... Thank you so much for your video..I have very fine hair and by following your instructions I was able to get a beautiful wave☺️ Thank you, again💖
I adore your family. And these videos are simply the best . Very informative and fun at the same time .
Thank you! Im glad you enjoy them! 😊💜
Thank you for getting straight to the point! I learned everything I was looking for in a short amount of time. I'm going to a concert with a friend. It's going to be epic! Well, as epic as it can with two middle aged women! Thank you for your helpful advise🌻
Thank you! This is a awesome tutorial! Well actually all of them are! Also what really helped me was not turning the heat on while practicing wrapping the hair around the wand to get the motion of it!
I twist as I wrap, and the curl ends up amazing! And it lasts for days!
Excellent! 😊👍🏽
Thank you. I love how easy you break it down and the tips about the heat.
I watched 4 other videos before watching yours. And yours was the most helpful! Thank you for your tips!
wow, this was so informative. My curls always came out like the curls you get from a curling iron even though I was using a wand. I have both though. Sometimes I prefer the bigger curls I guess but I am glad to know the correct way now :)
my hair is really thick & just really long & evertime i try to curl my hair with a wand just like that one , it never came out to pretty curls until now .. thank you so much !❤️
My daughter asked for a curling rod for her birthday... I love your detailed instructions!!! She been in the Air Force for the last 6 years wearing her long, thick strawberry blond hair in a bun. She’s so excited about trying something new. T
Really needed this as I’ve never learnt how to curl my hair so this was very helpful ♥️

This was so helpful!!!!! The wand I just got has a glove that came with it!!

That awko taco moment when you have really fine hair and have been using it at 410...
Hopefully this video helped you moving forward then!
Omggg this is by far the best tutorial I’ve found.
thanks for posting; i liked the way you presented the info; the audio and video are both clear; the voice was warm...in short, very informative, i will try it next time.
Thank you for doing a very good job showing how to properly use the wond. I have the same wond as u was using so it really hdlped.❤😊
This video was so helpful for me thank you so much, also I love your outfit it looks amazing.
I got a Remington rod today. I found it at a thrift store for cheap lol and even though I have burned my fingers a few times it ACTUALLY curled my hair. Which is great because my hair don't want to ever hold them. Its like one side I'll get a few curls the rest just roll out. And I don't mess with it either. It comes out straight too. And I've used many different curling irons like with the clamp. So I'm happy that this rod actually does something.
That sounds great!
I got a Conair rod for $3.99 @ thrift store. it works beautiful
New sub here! I found your channel while looking for fish braid tutorials and I love your videos! You have a beautiful family!
Aww thank you so much dear! I’m glad you are enjoying the channel!
I have this curling wand and I love it! The info about temperature is really helpful. I remember using one of those butane curling irons back in the 80s. Fried my hair right up! 😳
Yeah the wrong temperature setting can ruin your hair life! I need to do a video on hair texture so people can more easily understand their texture.
Yes and another FryDaddy was crimping irons!! 😂😂😂 Sadly, I have started seeing them in stores, making a comeback yo!! Those wretched things need to stay dead. Fry yo head AND make you look like the dead!! 😂😂😂
You are an artist. This is amazing.
Thanks for this video. So helpful.
I have that same curling iron, I love all babyliss products. They are superb.
Thank you so much. Your instructions are so easy to follow.
My joy! Thanks for watching!
Yep I was wrapping my hair incorrectly for what I was trying to get so thank you! A little late but glad I found.
I wear my welding helmet and gloves when I want to curl my hair
That’s serious right there!
😂
Lmaoo!
i just had a breakdown trying to curl my hair , gonna try this out and see if it works i’ll update in a bit 😋
Thank you, this helped me out a lot
This is wonderful how good he explains step by step
Thanks so much! Thanks for watching!
Thank you! This was most helpful!
Your videos are always so great and informative!
Can you suggest a curling iron or wand for thick hair?
My hair are super straight and so far nothing can really curl them. I end up with pin curl them or use rugs - old traditional style.
Which isn't bad, but it's certainly time consuming
I'm so glad you didn't fall. 🤣. Love the shrit. This is so good that you have the break down on the temperatures, so many people think that they can use any heat tools at there max temps, I was one of them cause I was always told thay my hair held heat well, I have fine hair. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Such a pleasure dear! Girl if I had fallen this video would’ve been much more interesting! 😂 Thank you! Alison got me the shirt for my birthday!
Yeah I see a lot of people using irons at the highest temp because they think it’s faster, meanwhile it’s burning their hair up!
GlamFam, it would have been, before the tutorial begun, 🤣😂. Ms. Allison, Has taste. Love you all. Keep up the great work. I'll keep on tuning in. ❤
I have a wedding to go to today and OMG your videos have helped me so so much I've been doing this wrong for so long lol. Thank you!!
This is the best to go by tutorial I’ve been curling my hair wrong for years 😂❤️
Thanks so much! Thanks for watching!
I got a glove with my straightener/wand kit! it does look like a shower glove lol. I never did anything like this with my hair because my hair is fine and doesnt hold any styles, and im afraid of damage (colored hair) but this new infrared technology is less damaging and seems to hold even my hair type...it gave me hope that I can feel pretty and like my hair :)
So, i have the tools but not the know how! thanks for these tutorials, they are easy to follow and not filled with bad info like some homemade tutorials can be.
You are such a great teacher!!!
Thank you so much this helped me a lot!!💖 you are the best!!
My pleasure! Thank you so much, and Thanks for watching!
I love this! And I go to a pivot point school so yay!!!
Thank you! Pivot point is typically an excellent academy!
I learned Soo much thanks for the video!!!
This might sound a bit odd, but I'm very new to using a curling wand, and I'm having a lot of trouble sectioning my hair. So I curl one piece, and it get's lost in all the other uncurled pieces, and It ends up being a big mess. Any tips on how to just section my hair so that it is easier to manage? I tried just keeping one side tied back, doing a half up half down, just going in blind, but it always ends up messy and I loose my curls I've already done. Also, I have long hair (which isn't extremely thick). Sorry this is such a weird question, I know it might seem simple but I really am a mess!
I would say to put it in as many sections as necessary. For some clients I use 5-6 clips and I section small rows with a small duckbill clip as well. It helps keep everything organized so it’s not all tangled up.
GlamFam Thank you!
My pleasure!
Same with me...it is not as easy as it look like
Capri Gold deadass me af
You don’t even bake cookies at some of these temperatures 🤣 love it! Thank you so much for actually showing the difference between the curls! Now I know why they haven’t been coming out how I wanted!
My pleasure! Happy I could help!

I’m so happy that you found the video to be helpful! Thanks for watching!
Linwood I learned so much. I am truly addicted to your channel. I watch all your videos and learn and laugh and feel like family!! I looked all over but - I can’t find the second video to this one. Did you post it yet? My hair is naturally wavy and I have ALWAYS wanted to learn how to do those old Hollywood waves. It is probably the only thing my mixed head of hair is good at. Can you posy the link?? Love you and your gorgeous family!! 😘
It hasn’t posted yet, that will be the next video on this channel. Look for it on Tuesday or Wednesday I’d say.
I do have a tutorial you may like then on retro Glam waves, those are more like old Hollywood. The ones I’ll be showing on the next video are like present Hollywood beach waves.
GlamFam ah!! That pretty much explains it then 😂. I thought I’d missed it somehow. Okay well I will look through some of your other videos and check out that one too. I think will enjoy both styles. Wavy is my thing. ☺️ Thanks Linwood!!
Such a pleasure dear! Thank you so much! 😊❤️
Thank you ×100!!! I have super thick hair and I kept putting it on the lowest setting 🤦🏼♀️
Thank you so for this video, it really did help me, however I was wondering if you could please do a video using one of those bubble curling wands. I would really lijjw to know exactly how to use those. Thank you
Great info Linwood!! But what temperature do you recomend for synthetic wigs. I've used a steamer before, but th it s is totally different. My Raque Welsh needs a few curls! Thank you Sir 🙋♀️
Synthetic hair usually responds well to about 250F
he’s funny i like him . you just gained yourself a new subscriber
Thank you so much! Welcome to the GlamFam!!
Your video was awesome and informative. Thank you so much for making it. Btw, you have really beautiful hands and nails! I’m super jealous!
Thank you so very much! I greatly appreciate you!
I have learned everything! And the stuff I thought I knew I had wrong.... :3
I have that exact curling iron!
Thanks you really helped me ❤️
This was very helpful. I will be revisiting this video and trying again. Aside from the curls, can we talk about how perfect your manicured nails are, they look better than mine!! 💅👍
Omg this was so helpful to learn about why my curls were coming out like Shirley temple curls!
Thank you for the temperature information. I'm not trying to fry my hair over here. Side note: my curling wand came with one of those gloves you mentioned. :)
