I see all of the comments requesting a video on how to make curls last on resistant hair! I will be addressing your hair type, condition, length, shape, products/tools and technique in regards to the topic. There are many contributing factors. Stay tuned!
Hi Brittney Gray I was wondering if you could please make a DIY video how to get healthy hair at home my hair constantly feels rough and gross there is absolutely no shine to it whatsoever and I cannot afford the products that the hairdressers have recommended to me please and Thank you
Little Sunshine don’t know if it helps but I was having the same problem & started using Sally products. Once a month 2-step protein treatment, 1 x a week color sealer step 1 & 2 - mix step 1 with 4 oz water & leave on 30 minutes, rinse & then use step 2 for 30 minutes. Alternate weeks use BTZ last call mask mixed with step 2 & leave on 30 minutes after shampooing. These are bonding (Olaplex dupe) products. When Washing use Sally ion sulfate free shampoo & ion conditioner. Before shampooing put xtra virgin coconut oil in hair & leave over night. Started using a satin pillow & also a satin cap. Pull hair up in soft high bun to sleep - leaves lots of body & not tangled. Being really careful when combing wet & not using much heat & using ion Repair leave in Spray. Has really helped my hair. Stopped breakage, Looks shiny & healthy after about 3 months. Sally’s has lots of sales.
A tip for girls who don't have time in the morning is to curl your hair at night, tighter than you would actually want it .The curls will fall while your sleeping and you wake up with nice wavy hair. I do this all the time and usually only have to touch up a few face framing pieces in the morning!
JadeLeaf1980 Oh really? That sucks, I was just saying what works for me but my hair tends to hold style well. I guess for people who have a hard time with curls staying place, this method wouldn’t work.
Thank you. I am always told I have perfect hair. Yesterday I went to a new hair dresser and she practically begged to curl my hair. I felt so great and I went out and bought a new curling iron and not a cheep one. I was in tears while googling tips to curl hair because my looked horrible when I did it myself. I found your video. After doing it the way you showed, I felt as happy as I was yesterday. THANK YOU!!
Okay but for real this is actually SO helpful. I stopped curling my hair because I always hated how it turned out, so I'm definitely going to give this a try
I wish they made the curling wands longer, my hair is almost butt lenght and gosh, how short those barrels are to me :D please do a video about why the hair is not holding the curl!
This is an easy one for you. It's because your hair is so long. Imagine if you were to attach weights to your curls. That would pull them straight, right? Well hair that long is heavy, so basically that's what's happening.
@@mechantechatonne Well I can understand that, but a couple years ago I had bob, and the hair would not hold a curl more than for a couple of hours as well as now, I guess that's just my hair :D
@@metavoid3441 I suppose you are talking about beautyklove, I watch her but idk I just think the curler does the job better and the curls look more on point :D
I just wanna say that I have been trying to teach myself how to curl my hair for like a year now. This is the one and only video that explained it and showed it so well that I was able to replicate it and I looks absolutely stunning. Thank you so much ☺️ I got a lot of compliments!
The common mistake I see women do as well is clipping the curling iron on, DRAG IT TO THE ENDS (which straightens it) then curl from the ends, up. It will fail every time.
Thank you for this! I’ve straightened my hair for years and am new to curling irons. I’ve watched this over and over and finally managed to give myself some loose waves that my hair stylist can do so easily with a flat iron. I will keep practicing!
I want to share this video with some of my girlfriends who struggle with curling their hair! I have thin/fine hair and had the hardest time keeping curls in my hair up until probably 5 years ago. But I kept practicing and trying new things, and now they ask me for tips, so I tell them everyone's hair is so different and it took a lot of screw ups before I got the hang of it - KEEP PRACTICING.
I bought my FIRST ever hair curler from amazon..With no knowledge of how to curl hair..After going through a loads and lots of research on youtube of how to curl the right way..I FOUND YOUR CHANNEL...You are the BEST..your techniques are amazing..Till now whatever i have watched on how to curl hair,No youtubers have explained it like the way you did..you are amazing ❤❤❤
You don't know how much this video was needed! I'm always frustrated that I can't curl my hair to look like or even similar to the salon lol Can't wait to try it again with this new hair knowledge
I’m 31 and never curled my own hair. I have always had super long hair as well, and would straighten it. I just chopped it a bit shorter than shoulder length, so doing anything to my hair is difficult as it’s so short. This video helped a lot. I messed up so many times but finally got the hand of it! Thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for this! I wish more hair videos were like this: straight to the point, tell me and show me what to do, and that's that. None of this "let me show five minutes of glamour shots with two seconds of explanation" bull.
Okay I literally never comment on videos but I found yours last night and just tried out your technique it worked like magic. I never had my clip facing forward and would always get the bent shape in my hair and it wouldn’t hold or look good but making sure the clip is forward and the barrel is facing the wall made all the difference!!!
I just have to say THANK YOU to you because I finally learned how to curl my hair nicely after this video lol. I’ve watched so many over the years but yours explained everything really well and I actually like how my curls turned out!
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!! I finally used a curling iron successfully after so many failed attempts. “Barrel to the back” is just the tip I needed. I could cry I’m so happy!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!
You are a blessing! I just got a new hot tools curling iron, and I’m trying to figure out how to use the clamp on it. Previously I use the NuMe octowand and I love it, but a wand and a curling iron produce different curls. Soo thank you so much!! 😭
THANK YOU! Finally a video that told me exactly what I was doing wrong. 29 years old and have never been able to curl my hair. Just when I though I got the hang of it, I realized I was only able to properly curl the hair on the right side of my head but not the left- but it was because when I crossed over to the left side the barrel of the curling iron was not in the back! I finally learned my mistake and was able to curl my hair perfectly!
This is hands down the best instructional video on curling your hair for lay people that I’ve ever seen. So many awesome tips all the way through. Thank you SO much!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this tutorial. My husband has never gone to the salon with me on the days my cousin Scott curls it. Make sure you use a heat protector and avoid over using heat and your hair should be just fine. Also consider adding a mask once a week to help keep it nice and healthy.
I'm embarrassed to say that I'll be turning 40 in a few days and I've never been able to curl my hair. After watching this tutorial, I finally did it and it actually looks good! My one and only issue is that I have a fringe, which I find looks a little odd with a head full of curls. Would you suggest pinning up my bangs, or bringing them over to the side to create a side bang type of look and incorporating them into the curls?
I’ve used a curling iron on my hair (thin, fine) for years and have gotten adequate results-certainly better than NOT using a curling iron (😂). But watching you do this showed me that 1. My hairdresser does exactly the way you do it, and 2. I have been doing it wrong, starting at the BOTTOM of the strand and curling tightly upwards, then releasing the clamp and letting the strand fall. It’s not that it doesn’t work (the hair does get curled), but it doesn’t end up looking as great as doing it your (and my hairdresser’s) way. Thank you!❤

The problem I have when I curl my hair is that on my left side of my hair it’s like the prettiest curls but on the right side it’s not the same it makes a crease kinda curl where u see the crease pls help me I have to practice my curls for colorguard
Idk if this makes sense but if your curling it and you twist it and your hair covers the clip it creases it or when you curl it twist the curling iron then clamp it on the hair
Haven Shields - I have the same the problem HENCE me looking for this video. I am going to try this as I am going out tonight for NYE.....Thanks Brittney!!!
The frizzy roots thing, running the iron over it a bit it a golden tip! I am white, pretty basic hair, it’s fine but there is loads of it. And it’s unruly 🙈 the sleek curl with the fuzzy roots is so me. I always think it makes me look like I’ve got grown out dreadlocks with fuzzy top bits. Dreads are cool, love them, but not if you are trying to aim for a sleek seamless look 😆
Thank you! This was great- thank you for troubleshooting and going step by step in your techniques- and repeating to make sure we get it! Also, I kept thinking about Margot Robbie while watching this for some reason, then I realized you remind me of her and also look like her so much
Omg thank your for focusing on curling the root area!! I never know how to create volume! I have fine, strait, virgin hair so I need all the help I can get. Thank you so much! 💖😘🙏
thank you for not side tracking talking long on shit an just sticking to the subject. Your the only vid Iv found that's explained more in depth where the roller goes in wat sides etc.. I'd love a vid esp if you did it also cause we have same face shape, on where curl should begin, an wen I curl my long stupid thick hair, it's too fat at the bottom giving me oblong face shape so Iv started not curling all the way to bottom, but still trying to master where to make first curl sit, an having so much hair, trying not to make it so thick an full at end.. Hope this made sense
I watched a few videos reviewing a curling iron I just got since I had trouble- all of them were using it a different way and getting bad results like I did. I was so disappointed that I wasted my money until I watched this video. I used this technique and it worked perfectly.

Haven Shields - I have the same the problem HENCE me looking for this video. I am going to try this as I am going out tonight for NYE.....Thanks Brittney!!!
Very good tutorial! You got down to it and slow enough to follow. I subscribed.
This is the most informative hair styling video ever.

Wonderful tutorial, thank you so much! Learned so much!
Love this video! I try to curl my hair, but it always looks crazy or goes flat. Thank you for the wonderful suggestions!
Please make a video with tips and advices for new hairdressers would be awesome .love ya💕
Could you also do a video on how to curl your hair with a hair straightener? Pleeeease 🤗
Dreads are cool, love them, but not if you are trying to aim for a sleek seamless look 😆
please do a video on how to do big voluminous curls on long, thin hair!! they never seem to hold
As well long, thick hair. Mine won’t hold either.

Using a bit of the Chi Keratin styling cream has helped my curls stay in place!
I struggle with my hair so much!!! Thank you for making this video! I am excited about doing my hair, and that's something I'm never excited about!
I had no idea how much I needed this tutorial until I found it!
Your hair looks so pretty!!!💇
I just got a curling Iron today, Thank you! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Thanks to you. Nothing else was working on how to do it.
Let's make sure to watch all her ads to support our girl!
thank you for not side tracking talking long on shit an just sticking to the subject.
