Little Sunshine don’t know if it helps but I was having the same problem & started using Sally products. Once a month 2-step protein treatment, 1 x a week color sealer step 1 & 2 - mix step 1 with 4 oz water & leave on 30 minutes, rinse & then use step 2 for 30 minutes. Alternate weeks use BTZ last call mask mixed with step 2 & leave on 30 minutes after shampooing. These are bonding (Olaplex dupe) products. When Washing use Sally ion sulfate free shampoo & ion conditioner. Before shampooing put xtra virgin coconut oil in hair & leave over night. Started using a satin pillow & also a satin cap. Pull hair up in soft high bun to sleep - leaves lots of body & not tangled. Being really careful when combing wet & not using much heat & using ion Repair leave in Spray. Has really helped my hair. Stopped breakage, Looks shiny & healthy after about 3 months. Sally’s has lots of sales.

A tip for girls who don't have time in the morning is to curl your hair at night, tighter than you would actually want it .The curls will fall while your sleeping and you wake up with nice wavy hair. I do this all the time and usually only have to touch up a few face framing pieces in the morning!

I felt so great and I went out and bought a new curling iron and not a cheep one. I was in tears while googling tips to curl hair because my looked horrible when I did it myself. I found your video. This is an easy one for you. It's because your hair is so long. Imagine if you were to attach weights to your curls. That would pull them straight, right? Well hair that long is heavy, so basically that's what's happening.

But I kept practicing and trying new things, and now they ask me for tips, so I tell them everyone's hair is so different and it took a lot of screw ups before I got the hang of it - KEEP PRACTICING.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this tutorial. My husband has never gone to the salon with me on the days my cousin Scott curls it. Those curls last 2 days in humidity of our beach summers, 3 days in the winter months where living at the beach still effects a good curl.

I’ve used a curling iron on my hair (thin, fine) for years and have gotten adequate results-certainly better than NOT using a curling iron (😂). But watching you do this showed me that 1. My hairdresser does exactly the way you do it, and 2. I have been doing it wrong, starting at the BOTTOM of the strand and curling tightly upwards, then releasing the clamp and letting the strand fall. It’s not that it doesn’t work (the hair does get curled), but it doesn’t end up looking as great as doing it your (and my hairdresser’s) way. Thank you!❤

The frizzy roots thing, running the iron over it a bit it a golden tip! I am white, pretty basic hair, it’s fine but there is loads of it. And it’s unruly 🙈 the sleek curl with the fuzzy roots is so me. I always think it makes me look like I’ve got grown out dreadlocks with fuzzy top bits. Dreads are cool, love them, but not if you are trying to aim for a sleek seamless look 😆

    Hey Britney!
I've been watching your videos since your bebe hair and VS hair tutorials. I love the way you see things and the way you live your life in general. It would be cool if you could do a series on life topics like finances, life hacks for women , building a career , life priorities, daily routines. You have always seemed level headed and had your priorities right. Would love to hear you thoughts and wisdom on these topics.
    Love !

I watched a few videos reviewing a curling iron I just got since I had trouble- all of them were using it a different way and getting bad results like I did. I was so disappointed that I wasted my money until I watched this video. I used this technique and it worked perfectly.

I'm embarrassed to say that I'll be turning 40 in a few days and I've never been able to curl my hair. After watching this tutorial, I finally did it and it actually looks good! My one and only issue is that I have a fringe, which I find looks a little odd with a head full of curls. Would you suggest pinning up my bangs, or bringing them over to the side to create a side bang type of look and incorporating them into the curls?

thank you for not side tracking talking long on shit an just sticking to the subject.
Your the only vid Iv found that's explained more in depth where the roller goes in wat sides etc..
I'd love a vid esp if you did it also cause we have same face shape, on where curl should begin, an wen I curl my long stupid thick hair, it's too fat at the bottom giving me oblong face shape so Iv started not curling all the way to bottom, but still trying to master where to make first curl sit, an having so much hair, trying not to make it so thick an full at end..
    Hope this made sense

Make sure you use a heat protector and avoid over using heat and your hair should be just fine. Also consider adding a mask once a week to help keep it nice and healthy.

Very interested in trying this! When the hairdresser curls my hair, it usually lasts 2-3 days. I have fine, low porosity 2c/3a hair but I do love a finished look. I'm 32 years old and am determined to finally master the curling iron. We shall see!

Notification squadddd 👌🏻👏🏻 I always try to help my clients with styling tips and tricks. I’ve noticed, especially lately, people want “wash and go” hair but the pictures they show me are hella styled 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Whatever, Nevermind yes, most people think their hair sucks...but they don’t understand hat you actually have to style it to get a certain look even if it is just “down” lol they don’t know that it’s a blowout/styling

Curled my hair for the first time tonight. I have way longer and thicker hair than you, so it definitely took some TIME. But, aside from burning my neck (near the end of course), I think I did a pretty good job. Your initial tips helped me feel a lot more comfortable using an iron. :) Although with how much hair I have, I am having troubles figuring out how to section my hair.
