    I just had my first colonoscopy today. Suprep was the cleanse that my doctor prescribed. There are so many videos on UA-cam about the horrible taste that I was actually surprised at how easily it went down. For me, it simply tasted like flat diet cherry soda (having an aspartame or saccharine chemical taste) with a bit of salt in it. It was no problem to drink and did the trick very well. Hope this takes away some of the trepidation that people have about this particular prep solution. (I have no experience with any of the other prep products.)

    My daughter and my husband had a colonoscopy in February and they both had to mix a powder in a big gallon plastic jug with water or Gatorade and drink the whole thing. It didn't work for either one of them. When it came time for their procedures neither one was cleaned out. I had my colonoscopy in March and my doctor gave me Clenpiq. It worked like a charm and I wasn't constantly going to the bathroom either. The solution comes in 2 small bottles that you don't have to mix with anything and it also comes with an 8 oz plastic cup so you can measure your water. The first bottle I had to drink at 5pm the day before the procedure. I sipped it down and halfway through I took a few sips of Mt. Dew, then drank the rest. It wasn't bad at all. It was like a sweet/bitter taste. Hard to describe but MUCH better than the old school prep. Within 5 hrs of drinking the first bottle I had to drink five 8oz cups of water and continue with other fluids as well. The morning of the procedure I had to drink the second bottle of the prep solution 6 yrs before the procedure and drink at least three to four 8oz cups of water and stop drinking anything 2 hrs before my procedure. The 1st bottle started working within an hour of drinking it. I went to the bathroom a few times, but it wasn't clear. I didn't go the rest of the night. The next morning after I drank the 2nd bottle it worked much quicker and by the time I went for my procedure I was cleaned out. Word to the wise, if you have sensitive skin get your Vaseline ready and start coating your bottom before you start going to the bathroom and use flushable wipes. Coat your bottom every time you go. I didn't know how I'd react but I was so sore after the first few poops and I felt like my butt was on fire!! I used Vaseline and it helped but I wish I had started using it from the very beginning.

    I've had 4 colonoscopies and I've tried all of the above. By far the best tasting is Clenpiq. You do have to drink 80 oz of liquid before you start your prep. I drank herbal tea, black coffee, water and chicken broth. Thanks for this video.

    ok, I just had my colonoscopy and my prep was a total non issue. I was prescribed polyethylene glycol 3350, in a 8.3 ounce bottle. This is mixed with 128 ounces of liquid. You have to drink 1/2 of it the day before then the 2md 1/2 on the day of the procedure. I mixed the 1st half with white grape juice and a teaspoon of sugar, and no lie it tasted like white grape juice. There was perhaps a 3% taste of the powder, but that contributed zero effect on the total taste.
    The next day I used apple juice and a teaspoon of sugar just to switch it up and that too was great.
    I was also prescribed 4 tiny pills to take all at one time when I began my prep which helps with the discharge.
    The only thing I did differently time wise, was to start my prep 3 hours earlier so that I could give myself more time to settle down so that I could get some sleep. I also started 3 hours earlier the next day as well. It turned out to be a wise decision because of the continued discharge.
    I only drank 3 quarts of this prep, and it was enough. My paper work suggested that by after drinking 3 quarts that most people are cleared out. I also did not consume a lot of food 2 days prior to this prep to help me with this event and that also helped big time.
    If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

    Can’t afford Clenpiq but my doctor prescribed Miralax because it was the most economical option for me. I made a Miralax lemonade and chilled it in the fridge and it was very refreshing (and also worked!)

      @David 64 Oz total- 32 Oz after 5pm and the rest 5 hours before procedure. On advice of my bariatric surgeon since I am post bariatric gastric bypass and have a functional stomach pouch the size of a turkey egg- my prep is more drawn out- 2 days low residue/ fiber diet, 2 days clear liquid along with 4 Oz cups instead of 8 Oz at a time. So drinking smaller at more frequent intervals. Every 10 instead of 15-20 minutes apart. The old saying is "What doesn't kill me can only strengthen me" - WE SHALL SEE!

    I had to reschedule my third colonoscopy due to the fact that Suprep made me quite nauseous and gave me a bad headache after 2 sips. I also have intestinal issues and a very sensitive stomach so Suprep was not the best choice. Also read the side effects for Suprep which include seizures and irregular heartbeat. Will be taking Clenpiq for the rescheduled colonoscopy which I have no problem with as I have taken it before.

    At 20 years old I am about to have my second colonoscopy tomorrow. I've had a few precancerous polyps so I'm glad I found them young before I were to get cancer. I had no idea there was any other way than the massive gallon of liquid! The flavor isn't awful, it's just the massive volume that sucks.

    • @lindsaymuller1819
      @lindsaymuller1819 3 роки тому

      @@alina16garofalo30 I did not have any options. I imagine that mostly has to do with insurance. Especially because insurance is reluctant to cover a colonoscopy for someone my age. Next time I will make a point to ask to see if any other prep is covered. The one nice thing about the full gallon is you are less likely to become dehydrated. If I have any advice to you, it's mix crystal light, mio, or other approved flavorings in with the prep. It makes it taste a bit better. And since you will probably be drinking a lot of sweet things like juice and gatorade, have plenty of chicken or beef broth on hand. Being able to consume something savory and tastes more like a real meal is a MASSIVE morale booster in my opinion.

    ok my grandpa tried the clenique and the suprep and soo far the most tolerable one would be clenique. Suprep is way worse since it makes u want to vomit instantly js. Whoever is getting an endoscopy or colonoscopy, be sure to pick clenique. Sure clenqiue is more expensive than suprep, but trust me you rather pay more for something you can tolerate than cry over vomiting using suprep. Btw, my granpa drink lemonoade (without the pulp) to get rid of that nasty after taste of clenpiq. hope that helps and good luck to anybody getting that procedure.

      Hey GigiStar. I hope your colonoscopy went well! SuPrep doesn't taste the best, but I think I might switch back to it during my next colonoscopy because it should clean you out pretty well. The video doesn't show it, but ClenPiq didn't actually fully clean me out. I was stressed before my appointment because I knew I wasn't sure if my doctor would be able to get it done. It was all OK, but she did 'shame' me a bit for not being as clean as in the past!

      @@colonoscopyenthusiast8947 I'm sorry that you didn't have a good experience with ClenPiq. I'm glad that your results came out OK. My colonoscopy went smoothly! All clear and no polyps.
      My prep went as well. The SuPrep totally cleaned out. My doctor instructed me to drink 1/4 of the 16 ounce SuPrep every 15 minutes. I drank ginger ale to cleanse my palate between the SuPrep. I then drank an additional 32 ounces of plain water. I thinking drinking the 16 ounces of SuPrep in 15 minute increments (instead of all at once) helped tremendously. I followed the same procedure for my 2nd dose of SuPrep.
