    i used output instead of input bcuz I wanted to hear what was happening on fl and at the same time having more control on the latency than the one I have with fl studio asio and... IT WORKS, you're the only one who says clearly what we need to do, applause and thanks

    Thank you so much for mentioning needing to press the 48v button if you're using a condenser mic! I was trying to figure out for about 39 minutes why I couldn't get OBS to pick up any sound thru my mic...all I needed to do was press that button. Saved me a lot of time!

    This was super helpful! I had a youtuber tell me my mics on my kit were muted friday night. I mustve had a setting turned off. So I restarted watching this video. It worked! I'm a new music producer learning how to use my interface! Explained really well thank you!

    other obs content tutorial creators should watch this video to see how to present 'how to' instructions...! great graphics, nice even narration (not talking at 78rpm...!), clear concise instructions without assuming the viewer knows what you are talking about or showing on the screen, and a final demonstration of how to live stream connect... thank you...!

    Hi! Can i use Focusrite 2i2 to get different tracks for the different inputs? In this example, so that voice goes to one audio track and guitar goes to another separated audio track in OBS?

      I found a great solution to all this bs. I was having no luck also. So watch this video. ua-cam.com/video/tj54m6vl38M/v-deo.html. You just need to download Reaper (Free) and use the ReaStream plugin in Reaper and in OBS / StreamLabs. It's a quick video and it works perfectly. Zero Latency. I'm running a full Reaper scene with EZBass, Steven Slate drums and Archetype Gojira and it's flawless.

      If you don't have one of our interfaces with a loopback feature, this can be a tricky task, but there are ways to make it work. You can play the audio from a device like a phone or a tablet by connecting an aux chord to one of the inputs via a 3.5mm to 1/4 inch TRS cable. Or you can use a third-party internal audio routing program such as Soundflower to send route audio from Logic to the inputs in OBS. Please let us know if this helps or if you have additional questions.

    Txs for the top explanation. Am looking for an interface for android, -means i want to sing on an android app smule or starmaker and the mobile headset (Android phone/USB C input) is not enough for a good vocal, what kind of usb / DC interface is ideal to connect the interface to a microphone then to a smartphone first. The interface could also be connected to PC or Ipad or laptop for live streaming. Do I need a mixer and a power supplied interface (as the interface without power would use the smartphone battery) Or a device like Yamaha AG06, Focusrite or Behring uc22? Txs for your kind support

    This did not help me. My FocusRite is getting signal from the 1/4" that goes to a Tip and Ring RCA to my NuMark Mixtrack Platinum FX BUT my Audio Input Capture Source is not receiving signal. It's probably a settings issue either with my PC or OBS as Serato Lite does not have much settings to toy with.

    • @chrisrunoff
      @chrisrunoff 3 роки тому

      I had this same issue. It seems the Scarlet treats each input as a single line. An RCA to 1/4" RCA Y cable won't work unless you unplug the left or right channel on the RCA side or get an RCA to Dual TRS and plug 1/4" into lines 1 and 2. There may be a way to correct for this in the Focusrite Control software but I wasn't able to find a setting which worked.

      Perhaps you already figured it out, but you need to set offsets. You can do that in the Mixer on OBS or whatever software. Just start a recording and try out some offsets on the sources that need it, then stop the recording and listen to see if they're synced.

So in-person participants can listen from external speaker and zoom users through zoom app. I found Mic's input is not routing to external speaker if we connect cable from Line Output to external speaker's Line In.

    • @FocusriteHelp
      @FocusriteHelp  2 роки тому

      If we understand you correctly, yes. That's possible. When connected to your computer and selected as the audio input/output device, Scarlett will pass all audio to and from your computer. Audio from your Zoom call will be output to headphones/speakers connected to your Scarlett. A microphone connected to your Scarlett would capture your voice for use in the Zoom call.

    • @FocusriteHelp
      @FocusriteHelp  2 роки тому

      You can't expand the number of inputs OBS accepts, so you will have to do some channel summing somewhere. You could run the mixer into the interface and then choose the corresponding line in OBS. You could also play around with internal audio routing software/drivers such as Soundflower or BlackHole, which would allow you to use the audio from your DAW as an input in OBS. Hope this helps.

      Actually I did not solve this but I figured out a work around. I'm using a small mixer plus the first two inputs of my audio interface. Could not find a way to use all the channels. I did a small research on this and the only information I've found was that these programs only work with 2 interface channels.

    would I use a interface with direct monitoring or should I use a microphone on my amp directly through obs? trying to record covers and not have latency

    • @FocusriteHelp
      @FocusriteHelp  2 роки тому

      It's not entirely clear what you're asking. Either way you would need an interface to get the analogue audio data from your mic'd amp into the digital realm of your computer. Using the Direct Monitor feature doesn't affect the signal chain at all in terms of processing; it's simply a tool that bypasses the computer and sends the audio straight to your headphones to monitor. So it really depends on what your setup is. We're happy to chat more about this via DMs on our social channels.

    Is there a way to separate the 1 and 2 audio channel so I can have 1 with my mic and 2 with my guitar. It's incredibly annoying how i cant use my mic at all if i want to stream the guitar audio and vice versa. Bcs the thing is ONLY audio channel 1 actually gets through to OBS and channel 2 doesnt seem to work AT ALL. And even if it did, I still want to put a VST filter (neural dsp) on my guitar audio so its not just a very mild and quite honestly, BAD clean sound, and so if I use Neural DSP to get dist, a better clean, or whatever, my MICROPHONE also gets it. I dont really feel like speaking with distortion, delay or reverb.

      Hi, we're sorry to hear you are having trouble. If you are working with a 4th gen Scarlett, you should be able to combine the inputs to solve this issue, info on how to do so can be found here:

    I'm trying to do the same thing via Streamlabs, but through the audio interface, just recording a mic, while I speak over a game I play (and stream the game as the video capture in the main window). For the game's audio, I've had to use BlackHole to capture the internal audio. However, I've had to set up a Multi Output Device (if you're familiar with it), but I can't just set up the audio interface as the other output along with blackhole as the Multi-Output device. The audio interface is where my headphones are connected to, to the audio out for headphones, but for some reason I also have to select External Headphones in the Multi Output Device and hook up a second pair of earplugs and headphones to my Macbook, for any sound to actually come out of the headphones in the audio interface. So weird.
    Does anyone know why I need to also have External Headphones selected in the Multi Output Device in the Audio Midi Setup on Mac, for any sound to come out of the headphones on the audio interface? The two are separate headphones... so what's the link exactly lol?

      Hi, thanks for reaching out and we're sorry to hear you are having trouble with your Scarlett. It sounds like you are creating an aggregate device, you may have to reorder the outputs on your device to make sure that your audio is assigned to the correct headphone output, you are likely able to disable the built-in audio output in your Audio-Midi settings. If you think there may be a glitch in your computer's audio, you can try resetting your Mac audio preferences. Info on how to do that can be found here: support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/206849239-Audio-issues-on-macOS-how-to-reset-Audio-Preferences

Mutiple reboots, disabling Nihimic, a brand new OBS, when we downloaded Focusrite control on this box it said we needed to upgrade the firmware so we did that...(now hope it still works on my DAW box) I KNOW it's something stupid! Can you use this technique to stream a session on your DAW?

    • @FocusriteHelp
      @FocusriteHelp  Місяць тому

      In theory, yes that's certainly possible. The process would be slightly different as you would need to route the DAW audio internally, using a virtual audio cable application. Common options include VB-Audio Virtual Cable (Windows), Soundflower and BlackHole (Mac). If you have a Scarlett 4th Gen audio interface this can also be achieved using the dedicated 'Loopback' feature.

      There are a couple possible causes for that. Make sure that there is nothing that could be causing interference near your interface such as a router or a phone. Then you should make sure that your cables are functional, and balanced where they can be. If you are still having trouble, then you should reach out to the support team at this link and explain the issue.

    I’ve tried actually everything. I have a iostation24c absolutely everything in every single video I do is correct and it won’t work. I have the mic on my mic and it won’t work. My mic works it’s the apps fault. I have no idea what to do. I have a bluebird xlr condenser mic. Everything’s plugged in. Every other app works perfectly but I can’t hear my mic on any streaming thing like obs or streamlabs.
