    This is by far the best tutorial on this subject. I have been 18 months now trying to get it to work. One tip I found through trial an error was that when I played back my youtube live streams (electric acoustic guitar and vocal, 2 tracks) there was massive interference/crackle making it unusable. I found that deleting midi tracks on Ableton solved this. While the vocal recording is not totally dry the audio effects are not fully functioning on the live stream compared to recording a song using the same effects/plugins.

    I need help. Downloaded Reastream, installed. it shows up in my plugin list on Cakewalk. Applied to Master Faded. I see my audio signal working. Go to OBS, add a audio capture to sources. go through steps off adding RStream. there is nothin in my drop down menu, and that little box below it that says "close plugin in interface" is not there. i tried copying the .dll to different folders, VST, Cakewalk VST, OBS plugins, i tried so many places i forget where all i tried. still would not show up in that menu. Am i doing something wrong or is something not working? My Reastream does not say "standalone" on it but it was the one at the top of the list. Any help would be appreciated. i need to get OBS working so i can record some tutorial videos next week. i do not need to actually live stream yet. i have bee able to add my phones and tablet as "cameras" and i am getting audio signal from my desktop when i play youtube as a experiment.

    • @shsLULtv
      @shsLULtv Рік тому

      ive logically deduced that this is a Focusrite specific ASIO driver issue, no matter what I do, including manually and physically disabling interface monitoring, the input is always doubled on Monitor track IN or AUTO with record enable within ableton. lowest physically possible latency configuration, appropriate latency offset in pref>audio, channels 1 24bit 48k everything configured to 48k interface+daw, I can get audio into OBS successfully with no flange effect but unfortunately the input monitoring within ableton seems to always flange/double up regardless of input channels selected etc. bit strange. i'll be picking up a different interface i believe to see if that has anything to do with it

    • @shsLULtv
      @shsLULtv Рік тому

      I say focusrite specific asio driver issue because when i use mme/dx there is no input doubling on monitor IN/AUTO at all, but clearly the latency there is un-usable so functionally it's mandatory for me to use an ASIO driver to achieve low monitoring latency in general. i guess we will see

Im able to capture the audio from DAW into OBS and send it to the stream, but when I play the drums on top of a song on UA-cam, The audio comming from my DAW has an offset. Even though Im playing it on time. How can I fix this?

    when I do this I cant find the rearstream plugin, I only find fl vst (im using FL) I tried so many different things but OBS never finds rearstream in the vst list

    • @CMillerMusic

      Sounds like Reastream isnt installed in the OBS default VST path C:/Program Files/VSTPlugins/. Make sure you have the VST in there and if you don't, you can just copy and paste the ReaStream plugin from your installed path, to the above path. Hope this helps!

    last time i tried this, there was a significant delay caused by restream plugin, any thoughts on this?

    • @CMillerMusic
      @CMillerMusic  6 місяців тому

      Reastream will not cause a significant delay. It's a low latency plugin.
      That being said, what makes you say significant delay? Are you hearing to audio's on your ears? If so, you should always turn monitoring off in OBS and only monitor from your daw

    One question (I’ve been meaning to ask this for months):
    I end up with my audio input capture, which I’ve renamed to my DAW (Sonar). I also end up with a track called “mic.” When I play music from the DAW, BOTH meters are lighting up. Is that what’s supposed to happen or am I suppose to mute one? This is the only part I don’t understand. Oh, and one more thing: I imagine the volume faders in the DAW should affect what’s coming into OBS, correct? So, if you are playing a project from your DAW and turn up the fader on the snare, for instance, you should hear that in OBS, correct?

    • @CMillerMusic
      @CMillerMusic  Рік тому +1

      Volume faders adjusted in your DAW will change the sound going to the master, so if you have the Reastream on the master, then yes.
      I'm not sure why both mic and DAW are receiving audio, I would need to see a few screenshots to get an understanding.

    • @CMillerMusic
      @CMillerMusic  3 місяці тому +1

      Abletpn has default folders that it looks in. You can also set custom folders for it to search for plugins.
      My advice is to find the reastream.dll file and where it is installed. Copy and paste it into the file directory that is listed in the Ableton preferences>plugins screen.

    • @CMillerMusic
      @CMillerMusic  Рік тому +1

      @TheZeeshNomat perfect! It just means that the install path was not correct. For future reference, if you install a vst2 into an incorrect file, you can just copy the .dll into the correct filepath. Another way is to create a shortcut from your preferred file path, into the default for obs. Obs will then see them all
