I searched all over for this solution, you are my last bus stop.
I've been trying to connect my mixer to my laptop but my laptop wasn't receiving the jack as input or mic, I thought it was driver issue or update issue, after doing all that still no solution, so i was just going for an audio interface solution which I will still get anyway, but you just cleared all my doubt mane.

There is no way on earth you can record an audio signal in to the computer without some kind of sound card either PCI, PCIe, Firewire or USB. I understand you actually do not know the audio ports on the back of your computer is the built in Audio interface. Please get your facts right before post videos
