  • We have been asked a lot to show our dinners after they are cooked, since we often show them meal-prepped. Well here are a few! Along with some others we made throughout the week.

Hi from Colorado. Don't worry, Sarah, all of our ovens get yucky! I got an oven mat, it is made out of silicone, I think. Then all you need to do is carefully pull out the mat and rinse it off. It seriously made me so happy. You know that I am a stay at home mom, if that makes me happy. Hahaha God bless.

I've never had a self clean option on any oven I've had but my mum taught me a great way to clean the oven which is very easy and doesn't smell at all!
Just make up a paste of bicarb soda and water, then use a pastry brush to brush it onto any parts that need cleaning off, let it dry and then just wipe straight off with a wet rag.
It is a really good non-chemical way to clean your oven and very inexpensive as well, so better for the environment and better for your nose as well as the kids! :)

Just a tip for anyone who likes to go into the grocery rather than online. Naan is almost always on my clearance racks and you can freeze it. I’ve never tried tortillas for pizza but definitely will! And for keto, I use muffin tins, use the big pepperoni or ham as your crust and toppings inside the little cup you made from the meat. It’s delicious!

I usually do the self-cleaning feature on my oven during the night so we don't have to deal with the smells and heat. I just set it before I go to bed and wipe it out in the morning. BTW - I take the shelves out before I run the cycle. If I remember right, it damages them to be in the oven during the clean cycle. Hope that helps.Blessings, Janell

FYI: When you are ready to purchase another range, consider induction. This means that the elements on the stove only heat up when there's a pan on it. The best part is that food never sticks to the glass top surface. You just wipe and never have to scrape. That's one of the best parts of having an induction stove.

Loved this video. I love seeing what you cook for your family Sarah. It's 11:15pm here in Melbourne Australia and you've made me very hungry 😂😂

I was thinking you could scrap w a utensil and then vacuum before wiping. Also maybe fun for helpers....

We add a bag of coleslaw mix (don't buy the one with dressing, just the veggies) and add it to the ground meat and wilt it down. And add the cali rice too. It's SOOO good and filling!

I have a mini dust pan and broom. I sweep my oven after the self clean is done. I use oven cleaner from the dollar store on the glass. Just a couple ideas for you

FYI when placing the aluminum foil on the bottom of the oven, put an extra rack first like cookie drying rack to prevent the foil from sticking on the oven and causing damage to the coating when heated..

The burnt pizza cheese is a big issue in our house, too. No one will "claim it" and clean it up! I usually just use a giant grill tongs to go in and scrape it out once in a while. I also use the tongs and a wet dish cloth to wipe it out, too. Keeps my hands a little safer and cleaner.
And we love naan. I've even used it as a hot dog bun in a pinch - soooo tasty!!!

The naan pizzas are SUCH A GOOD IDEA! We make ours with normal whole grain tortillas and they burn so easily and aren’t thick enough when I do not have the time to make dough. The naan bread is much more like a pizza crust! Will be using this idea!

Take the racks out of the oven, use oven cleaner and hand wash the racks. You could even try hot water , lemon juice, vinegar and washing up liquid

To me self cleaning means you have to clean it yourself lol. I've never even used that feature. But the other oven locking part is great for kids who love to explore.

Belle, a suggestion.........I put my egg yolks in a ziploc bag, add mustard/mayo/seasonings. Then cut one corner, being careful not to clip too much off. You can then mash the mixture to blend and squirt into the egg whites. I love to take any leftovers and make a sandwich with it. Sometimes I get a few!!

I have a self cleaning oven. It says not to use aluminum on the bottom. But what I really came here to say was when I clean the oven I find it so much easier to lift the door off.

For the oven you can make a paste with baking soda, vinegar and some water; and use a wet wash cloth; it will make it much easier to finish cleaning; good luck 👍
