As a fellow drummer, I could say you definitely delivered a powerhouse rendition of this Candlebox song. Especially at the end, you we're really in the groove.
thank you, when i was younger i found this record to be very influential... this song in particular was one of the first songs i learned that had a lot of ghost notes on the snare... it's a lot of fun to play along with... thanks for watching....
Awesome! One thing I would have liked to see on the chorus would be having your high hat hit on the quarternotes (the 1,2,3,4,5,6) with the petal...it was kind of inactive during the chorus, especially towards the end. It would have given the cover that "driving" feel. Instead, it felt like all the cymbal hits were a little up in the air. However, still the best cover of this song on youtube imo. Also thank you for playing the ghost notes. Hardly anyone does with this song.
thanks for the comment, yeah you're right that would have given the song a good rhythm during the chorus section... i'm a big fan of Jimmy Chamberlain, and he does alot of that type of hi hat work when he's playing the ride cymbal, it's very effective.... the first candlebox album was one of the first instances where i really tried learning ghost notes, it added so much to the rhythms of the songs on that album, scott mercado was fantastic on that album... glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
I just played what I felt like playing. On a different day perhaps I'd have played less rolls, or maybe more rolls.... Who knows? I think the original drum track serves the song perfectly, but I'm not recording an album and in no way am I trying to replicate the original drum track perfectly. Just having some fun.
