Best gardening channel!! Not stiff, not boring, always brightens my day. Thanks Emma and friends ❤
Lovely pippin xx
Those carrots were great Emma nothing wrong with the size of those.......early days....
Emma make the robin a little bird table and put mealworms on it.
Pippin is delightful. Loved watching him devour his carrot. Such fun!
With those weeds at the start of the video. A good thing is to lay down black plastic and deprive the weeds of light. They will soon die.The black plastic can be held down with two old car tyres.
Hi, just came by you channel today. Looking for inspiration. You have really bad techniques for your garden. I love it. Thanks for the advice I already follow. Aka not bothering with feeding labels. I like the suspense/humor in your videos already. Your inspiration is uncanny. 😂
Hi Emma it’s 7.00pm Friday night and I’ve just nicely got in from the allotment. I’ve been there since 10.00am and didn’t have a plan. However, I’ve finished painting my shed inside and pulled all the horrid bindweed from my beds and feel as though I’ve really achieved something today. I only went down to water/feed and I completely forgot to do that!!!!
Also that’s why all my gardening tools are bright pink! They sell them for visually impaired people but some of us need that extra help even without visual impairments 🤦🏻♀️
Pippin looked happy 😅
Pippin is gorgeous 😍
Thanks for sharing. Really cute footage of the Robin!
Sweet cherry pie Emma love it keep it up you make me get out in my garden!! 🍒❤😁
Omg Pippin ❤️ soo cute
Land cress tastes like watercress peppery and great in sandwiches and saladsxx
Love Pippin 💖
Another amazing video keep up the fantastic work on your plot
Regarding the Polytunnel your best bet is to buy the proper plastic cover. The problem with the green fabric is the sewn hems. Nothing you can do will make it last any longer than a few years.
The actual frames last longer as they don’t rock around as much.
Pippin is absolutely adorable ❤
Love Pippin x
Even if those carrots are small they will always taste way better than any store bought carrot! ☺️ love the humor there especially after seeing you get frustrated and over gardening. Gardening can be hard work and stressful but when it works it is SO REWARDING. I loved your homegrown carrots! I actually purchased heirloom oxheart carrot seeds which is a shorter carrot variety but we have thick clay soil here where I’m at and they are suppose to do well in it
Have a nice break😊
Good morning Miss Emma.. greeting from Indonesia country
I love the Pippin spotlight. ❤🐇❤ Thanks for sharing him, so precious. 🥕🥕🥕
Me too x
Pippin could have his own channel, he’s a good quality inspector and oh so adorable, enjoy your week off xx
You can buy new covers for the poly tunnel frame when the cover breaks. It’s a shame they don’t last very long though.
Yes, regardless of what you are doing, there'll be frustrating times.
Putting a puzzle together, for instance, can get hard. Sometimes you'll just have to stop and come back later when brain and nerves have rested.
Pippin was well impressed!!!
Emma your sacrificial plant looks like a greyhound cabbage xx
You can also use a more indigenous ground cover crop like purple or white clover. It is a huge nitrogen fixer especially after cutting it back, putting it in your compost then reusing the compost across your plot. It will help retain moisture so not much watering, it will keep pests away because of the high nitrogen content and also help plant growth and reduces weeds because they can't stand good soil.
You'll get three years at the most from the green mesh polytunnel covers. Mine is full of holes this year so I will be replacing it with proper polytunnel plastic this autumn.
Cracked me up when you found that fork. You make gardeners world look shit😂❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hello Emma, I like how keep yourself level knowing when to slow down or even stop. It is so good to stop and just enjoy your garden. Doing small jobs does count. Just sitting with a tea, coffee, juice or water and watching nature as it unfolds.
Have you ever given a thought to having a small garden with bunny plants for your bunny to come out to eat them. When you get tiny carrots whack it into the bunny garden for bunny to pull and eat. I bet the kids would have fun with that also.
I hope you have a fabulous week fun memories with the family. Cya next week!!
I would love to get out side and do some gardening, but we are in the high heat of summer we are at 119 today and it's just not good to do any yard work with these hight temperatures , I wish I have your weather now ,cant wait for cooler temperatures!🥵🥶
Some suggestions for catchphrases for your next merch launch.... all emmaisms.... "I don't speak robin".... "oh rocky" lol
How about clearing that area, adding some dwarf fruit and then membrane and cover with wood chip and have a little orchard?
In the spot next to your polythene, maybe try Rhubarb?
Aww pippin is adorable. Makes me miss my house rabbit days - lovely little guys x
Hi Emma, new subscriber from southern California. Nice little carrot harvest, don't fret as long as you can eat and enjoy them! You'd probably do better just to build your own poly tunnel. You can find higher quality material to cover it and it will last so much longer. Built right and it won't blow away either.
If you push the carrot down before pulling it up it will break off the hair roots and reduce the risk of snapping.
Hi Emma you could take the green off & put a white plastic one just buy the plastic & put over your fame if you know what I mean lv Irene 😘 xx
Another great video, glad my carrots looked like yours. Have a lovely week off
Saw your story on Facebook and knew I wanted to be a garden friend. Looking forward to following your allotment journey.
Those carrots look great Emma!! 🥕🥕🥕
Another amazing video thanks Emma. Pippin us adorable 🥰
Potatoes help grand keep some of the weeds a way
Thank you
When my tomatoes have a touch of yellow I give them tomorite and a stick of chalk in milk (some old bloke told me it's Calcium they need) - life of luxury boring Toms!!!
Love your Cardigan Emma 😊 Great carrots 🥕 well done 👍🏻 Your allotment is looking great X Tender heart cabbage in your poly tunnel.
Hey Emma, I love your videos, I watch them all of the time and they are really inspirational for me 😁
Awww your bunny is so cute!!!! I pulled some carrots today too, mixed results as well but enough for dinner for 2!
Enjoy your break, thank you for the videos, as a beginner they are really useful for me💙
Great advise Emma, them carrots look great enjoy your week off see you in August 🥰
Have a lovely week off Emma. You soo deserve it. Kick back and enjoy your family. Happy Summer Holidays ☀️🌱🐝🐞💕
Lovely carrots 😊
I weirdly found the fork I have been looking for for ages today... Great videos, by the way, thank you. V Inspiring
I did some things I was suppose to do for a while and it feels good now that its done so now I can start on other jobs, enjoy your vacation Emma
its so funny growing stuff as i always end up saying.. FFS only one or two good years of growing green beans and beetroot at the start of growing vegetables, after that its been a Disaster.. but its so much fun i keep growing each year saying.. this is gonna be the year.. yes right.. it just ends up being more for the Bug Banquet
I have the same poly. Mine didn't last long. However I use the frame for growing beans, cucamelon, tomatoes etc up. Lovely in the summer sitting in the shade of beans etc.
Mostly what robins are saying is “get out here and dig up some worms for me”
❤❤❤❤
Hi Emma I loved your cardigan, I was a bit distracted by it trying to work out if it was tomatoes or apples, or was it something completely different. 😂. Did enjoy your video though, you are such an honest soul.
Hi Emma you can buy a replacement cover for your poly, probably get it cheaper in the winter, your bunny just loves home grown carrots, how cute 👍🥕
American landcress is a lovely salad leaf, peppery like rocket. The leeks are still young so don't give up on them but they don't like weeds around them so you may need to thin out the cress. Take care.
I think it's rabbit approved!!!
Love your rude carrot - made me giggle!
14:25 Giving out advice before trying the advice. Really made me laugh 😅. I find I do the same in UA-cam comments. I watch so much gardening/allotment channels I find myself replying to comments with suggestions that I've never actually tried myself 😂
The walking away when you've had enough is great advice though. I need to take that advice. I was weeding a big section on my new plot today and I kept saying to myself keep going even though I was knackered and not enjoying it. I need to be aware of that and just stop earlier.
American land cress is cress just bigger than our cress.
Gaffer tape on the inside to fix tears in the fabric 👍
aaaaah like seeing Pippin hoover the whole carrot up like that lol Carrots might not be huge but you did better than me this year none germinated, I'm still going to try again for the 3rd or 4th time
Oh! Your bunny is so cute 🥰 The moment my adorable cat dies, I will get me one! Enjoy your week off! Bue
I know it’s not gardening related but can you please do a video on your sweet sweet house Rabbit 🐰 🥕
There's that loose soil again for your carrots. The looser the soil, the better the carrots.
Hiya Emma Thankyou for a visit. I wonder in the autumn your back area you can build a 3 bay compost, re poly maybe repurpose with different covering? Just some thoughts? Oh the wee Robin is growing did you decide on a name? My suggestion was Charlie. Anywhoo Take care and agree sometimes we all need a break from this or that. Pippin was like I’ll have more please yummy thanx Mummy lol blessings Luv Ontario Canada 🇨🇦🐝
Hi, have you got a video of when you were building your pond? Thanks
On the poly tunnel front, maybe you could invest in a greenhouse, money permitting of course. 👍🏻🤙🏻😜
My polytunnel is in a similar state. Two years in th UK's weather is pretty much all they last for. The zip to the door gave up first which was a pain. Don't trust keeping the frame either as it's mostly rusted.
So true they are rubbish,l might pay £20 for one but definitely not £100 😊
You can order another cover if you like. I have one and my zipper broke on mine.
Hello Emma, enjoying your updates. Are the carrots you harvested grown in the compost that you sieved in to that bucket? Thanks
Soil is everything…learn the soil…have fun !! I wouldn’t plant you in a bad neighborhood 😎
Wish my bloomin cosmos would produce buds / just lush foliage 😢 but lettuces done great been giving them away had that many/ can only eat so much lettuce 🥬
From what I've watched on carrot reveals and from my own experience of growing carrots it really seems that to get a decent sized carrot requires 4 or 5 months of growing. At least you didn't have carrot root flies though.
LOVE your bunny! But as an American, I have to tell you that I have no clue what American cress might be. It's nothing I know growing up in this part of the US. (Southeastern USA)
Did you put the Polly tunnel away for the winter, as I have a small greenhouse of the same build, all the hook ties on it broke because of the sun gets to them, so I just punched small holes in the material & went directly around the poles. But I did clean it & dried it out before storing it for the winter
You’ve got to give your carrots time to grow
Love the carrot harvest. Have you named the Robin yet? I'm still in favour of Bobin the Robin 🐣🥕
Or rambo. To go with rocky the cat. Maybe adrienne 🥊
If you want to find something stop looking for it
Hey Emma, is everything ok? Iv not seen your vlogs come up, are u on holibob. Sending you love and kisses. Ben&Luis
buns can eat lots of the carrot tops , the carrot not so much as its high in sugars . my timmy is a house bun too ,he loves the tops and he loves strawberry leaves but wont touch the fruit . hes a weirdo
Think you may have pulled your carrots too early 😂❤
Yeh just a bit longer Emma
I am getting fed up with just weeding and everything being eaten bij slugs and snails. I really am thingking 8f giving up
but my Pumpkins are looking great so far???
Hosgeldin guzel kadin❤
I was wondering if your camera ever gets wet and watered by accident? heeh
I know what you mean if your not in the right head space you don't enjoy it becomes a bit of a fag. I just take some time out but regret it when I do go down and see all the weeds😢
Have a good week.x
those polytunnels are rubbish Emma, if you get 2 years out of them you are lucky.....feel sorry for you over that....
Hi Emma, the plant in question at 10mins in looks like a sugarloaf cabbage. 🥬
