You should throw all the pond muck into a 5 gallon bucket with water and let it sit a while. Turn it into liquid fertilzer for your garden.

Add neem oil to your bottle of garlic. Sold in health food store and together are a tremendous help with keeping the slugs and snails off.

Emma you need to move your rhubarb. It needs loads more space than you've given it when it starts growing like mad. It will dwarf all the things you've planted next to it and shade them out.
You could just leave it there but you'll possibly lose the things you've planted around it. When established the rhubarb will cover a square metre + with huge leaves that will block light to anything under them. Good luck though. 👍

I use a child’s beach net to scoop the leaves of my small pond it helps to keep the algae down, if I get some I use a twig to twist the algae round and round it gets it out easily.

You might want to leave your garlic a few more months till the leaves turn yellowy, with having such a wet winter needs some sun for a mint or most things harvest nearer june time

17:04 I have somewhat doubts about tree and sun having a massive impact on the pond weed... My pond is far from trees and stays in full sun all the time (when sun is out) and there is still a massive growth of pond weed. I would catch it out here and then. And I'm using a recommendation from my plot neighbour - put some buchweat straws in the pond to slow down the growth. I'd buy it in the "PetsAtHome" - put one in and it floats there for a while. When it is completely under water then it is time to change it. And why one would catch the pond weed out with gloves when you can use a small fishnet..

I’m sure someone has commented on this already Emma, but just incase they haven’t… The radish flowers will finish & turn into pods. They will look like small pea or bean pods. So you just need to leave them for a bit longer, but if you can hold out it’s definitely worth it because they probably LOADS of pods 🙌🏻

Hi Emma, your galic and the shallots should be left for another four to six week before you think of lifting them. There ars two types of garlic hard neck and soft neck, if your galic is the hard neck type it will produce a flower spike (in that time) called a scape , (and these can also be picked and used in things like stir frys) after the scapes appear hard neck garlic is usually ready to harvest.

Though few, there are some plants that actually suffer when planted near garlic. Be sure to keep asparagus, peas, beans, sage, and parsley far away from it, as their growth can be stunted. Hope this helps x

Have you never heard that cats choose people? It seems clear to me that this one has chosen you. And by the way, *licking* another being is a way cats show affection, particularly when they lick a human no matter how rude we may find their choice of location for the licking to be. This cat reminds me of one who twice lost his owner (same owner, and I am not certain *why* the owner had to surrender the pet he was so close with) and who was desperate to become *somebody's* cat; he was staying with my next door neighbor who did a lot of cat fosterage work and the twice-lost kitty would "claim" any human who would tolerate her or was kind to her. Frequently that one climbed all over me---literally.
It's not true that cats are naturally aloof (I say this for the benefit of those people who still believe that they are) or neurotic or inveterate loners; we make them that way by treating them as if they are.
Your Rocky is acting very much like a cat who needs to find his "belonging" arrangement and I'm betting that if you give him/her some time for "just we two," with jaw rubs (very gentle ones!) and forehead and between-ear pets, you'll find he's less frantic for attention once he's learned he'll get it and that he can afford to wait a minute or two.
He appears to be very affectionate and in need of loving.
Garlic. There's a garlic grower (I want to say professional, but I'm not sure I'm recalling that correctly) who rather than gauging the percent of yellowing of the leaves counts the number of still-green leaves remaining to determine when a garlic of a given category (porcelain, rocambole, artichoke, turban/Asiatic, etc.) is ready to harvest and claims it's more reliable. I know this half-bit of information isn't terribly helpful; if you ask it, I'll see if I can't find the reference on it.

U have planted the courgettes too close together, they need a lot of space because they get very big..

Emma, I wouldn't give Rocky any more treats, or anything to eat at all! He's used to you feeding him now and you won't stop him coming - he looks like a pedigree to me so he's obviously well looked after. Best to just say hello if he visits, not feed him, imho.

That's what I was thinking, he's hindering ur work/filming. Also, the more he comes the more poos hell leave in ur allotment.

Hi.. New to your chanel & really enjoying them, I'm a newbie to growing.. it's the actual flower you eat..
Radish flowers have a mild flavor that allows them to be used on all sorts of dishes. However, because they are ever so faintly radish-y, they are best used on savory dishes instead of sweet ones. Try using them as a garnish for seafood, salads, meat dishes and more.
