I just finished making this sweater 15 minutes ago. It took me about 4 days. I've only ever crocheted simple blankets. Your instructions were so easy to follow that I didn't even have to look at the written pattern, I did it all from the video. Thanks!!!
@@sylviajacobs31 I did the XL and used one of those jumbo balls of Caron worsted weight yarn. It turned out very big because I didn't take into account that it's supposed to be oversized, not fitted
Nour Tal It came out beautifully!!! I made it a little too big, but for a first sweater, I'm thrilled!! I've now made 4 other sweaters since this one (different patterns). This one definitely gave me confidence!
I find myself coming back to this time and time again. I used this to tackle my first wearable crochet project, and now almost 4 years later it's still my go-to pattern for holiday presents. Quick and simple, but a very cute and wearable end result!
I just made this sweater. It’s my first real adult wearable. It was so easy to understand the pattern and video tutorial. Thank you for giving me the confidence to enhance my crochet skills.
My teenage daughters thought this pattern was adorable. I just finished the first one & it turned out fantastic with Hobby Lobby “I Love This Yarn”. I made the size L for 42 inch bust with I hook for ribbing & H hook for body & it fits just like it shows. I had more rows everywhere but the stitch count came out perfectly in width so I just added length. Took 1 1/2 skeins each of three colors. I did change neck ribbing to slip stitch with H hook instead of single crochet because it came out wavy with SC. Great pattern!
I love a V neck jumper. For me personally I think they give a more trendy look to a finished piece, rather than just a basic boxy jumper. So cute. Keep up the great work Carrie x
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart... I doubted myself for so long for being able to crochet anything rather than scarves... I just finished the sweater it took me two weeks watching your tutorial was easy and very detailed yet not too long thank you!! Greetings from Egypt
Thank you for this pattern. Finished my sweater/jumper today (9/27/24)...started a week ago. I used DC but followed all of your steps. It came out lovely. Color: All Dark Purple/Amethyst with just one lavender and one charcoal grey stripe together (2 rows each only) on the bottom front panel about 6 rows above the ribbing. The ribbed neck, I made it charcoal grey. Just lovely. My first sweater. I made a few errors in counting and had to frog some as I worked on the panels. Glad I did! Looking forward to wearing it during the winter months. Thanks again.
I just finished making this sweater (dark green, light green, grey) and it turned out nicely. I only altered the ribbing on the neck. That's the second crochet garment I ever made. Thank you for sharing and for your clear and easy instructions.
@@mariacenteno7463 hi, I more or less eyeballed that. I had 4 balls of yarn of each colour. I used 1.5 balls of dark green each for the front and back panels and 0.5 ball for each sleeve, 1 ball of light green each for front, back and the sleeves. I crocheted in grey until the desired length and had about half a ball of grey left. Total length 74 cm, 28 cm dark green, 21 cm light green and 25 cm grey. I hope this helps.
Excellent pattern. Ready to make my own V neck sweater. Love learning new tricks. Have been crocheting for almost 70 years and you are the best teacher ever. Thank you so much. Happy crocheting everyone.
I love your sweaters. I did allready 2 different of your patterns, the last 2 weeks. They turned out so perfect. And now I will try this one . Even the ones who looks difficult but beautiful in the structure, you make it so easy to follow.. thank you very much
Thank you thank you for always including the different size stitch counts in your patterns when doing a different size than the one you are working on.❤❤

My 1st sweater i have made just by seeing this very easy pattern.. it was so easy and it tooks only 4 days to complete this sweater... So happy with the result 😘😘😘
I wanted to let you know that I just completed this sweater! Thank you so much! It was very easy to understand your instructions. I'm a little rusty with my crocheting skills because I haven't crocheted in years but, I was able to pick it back up with ease. It took me about 3 weeks crocheting on and off in my spare time. I love your way of teaching and I will start the basket weave sweater today as well! Definitely looking forward to creating your other projects in the future!
This was the VERY FIRST crochet item I ever made. I literally learned how to do all the basics of crochet during completing this sweater. I love it and it turned out so well!
I just finished making this sweater, which was my first wearable, other than shawls, hats, headbands, and scarves. Although it’s bulkier than I had hoped, I am thrilled with it! I used a 4 weight yarn, but I think it was a little too stiff for this pattern. I wear an XL, and started making that size, but after seeing how large it was going to be, I frogged it, and scaled down to the Large. Thank you for such an easy to follow video and written instructions!
Carrie you always have such beautiful patterns in your tutorials.👍 really like that you give directions for sizes larger than small. Bless your heart. Stay safe and healthy. God bless.
Hey Carrie god bless you!! I’m learning crochet 🧶 with you and you know what? I’m learning English with you too. You are very talented and you are so sweetheart too. Stay in home Carrie stay safe.. thanks to you I’ll be able to make a sweater for mi children’s this winter coming. Today is May 19 2020. I hope I can finish until that time. I have 5 😂
Hi Carrie! I have just finished my first crochet sweater and all thanks to you! You are such a good teacher! You explained each step clearly and it was easy to see your work. Thank you!!

Thank you Carrie for this video. I’ve been wanting to make a sweater. I’ve never made anything but an afghan. Plus a v neck. I love a v neck on tops. I’m going to give it a try.
I just finished watching and I’m so excited to make my own next time I go yarn shopping! The best tutorial I’ve seen, and you helped made this very simple to follow. ☺️
The ribbing on the neck is genius! Thank you so much, I am making a sweater now and couldnt figure out how to do ribbing on the neck. Your trick is helpful and one I won't be forgetting. ❤
I've just learned crochet yesterday and you don't know how jealous I am seeing how easily you do the half double crochet stuff :'D got stuck on those three the loops everytime (purely my own fault for learning by using a small 3,5 mm hook haha) This tutorial makes me less nervous for wanting to make my own sweater though. Hopefully I'll be able to make this someday :"
I made this sweater too along with Carrie's awesome help!!! Came out very nice!!! I had to do a little tweaking but it turned out very nice. Now onto sweater # 2. I'm going to do this pattern for sleeveless summer tops too!!!!!

Made this sweater and it came out beautiful! Used a grey, beige, and mauve colours and it came out great. It's super straight forward and easy to follow. It came out pretty oversized but I like it that way!
I saw a couple people asking for a gauge: 15 hdc by 12 rows equals 4in square. I’ve made this sweater is fingering, dk, worsted and bulky and this gauge worked perfect.
I just finished this sweater last night!! I've never made anything I've considered "clothing" until this!!! It actually fit, too! Thank you for this tutorial. I'll make more of these but, next time, I won't make mine with as many different colored stripes (15) as I did. It was way too many ends to weave in. LOL
My first (non cardigan) sweater! Just finished wet blocking which helped a TON but lemme tell you, GAUGE KIDS. Mine turned out cropped solely because of my own laziness to gauge. 😆 Luckily I love cropped sweaters! Haha Thanks for your pattern, I am over the moon.

I'm finishing up my first attempt at this now, I made the sleeves too long and it's wayyy too big, but I started the sweater when I was 50lbs heavier, it's turned out great all things considered and I can wait to make some for my family
Hey Carrie, I just love this sweater and I especially love how the sleeves are sewn on. I might begin making this next (a little rest of my hands from other projects). Thank you for a great tutorial.
Just happened to see your channel. All I can say is wow, you are such an amazing teacher , so calming to listen to and follow your instructions. Can’t wait to make mine.
I love this video and am thrilled that I have the front and the back finished. However, with the stripes on the arms, how do we count for those? Do I use the ribbing on the sleeve the same as the ribbing on the waist, and the stripes are the same amount of rows up on the sleeves as they are on the chest? Anyone?
