    As a lazy girl may I recommend using front post/ back post hdc or dc for ribbing on sleeves and coolers etc. much easier to me than crocheting up and having to slip stitch back into the sleeve/ neckline whatever. Plus it looks nice!

      Blocking synthetic fibers like acrylic isn't advised because the shape will not stay. Natural fiber yarns like cotton, wool, etc..helps to keep your garments same shape (as how you blocked), blocking will help your stitches pop, as an example lacy crochet stitches will stand out & be more visible when you block.

    Great video. I love crocheting without a pattern and think it is a great skill for people to develop that works especially well with crochet.
    I make what I call "three tube sweaters" where you make your chain for the neck width, join it together and work from the top down. After you get to the shoulder width you want you make your sleeve holes and continue, adjusting width as you like, then you add on the sleeves. Like you I also don't like to sew anything and this method allows you to sew nothing. You can also do a cardigan with this method, just don't go in the round, and add your button field and collar after.

    Thanks for this easy to follow approach. I prefer oversized, simple lines that let the yarn be the focus. These designs lend themselves to exactly that.

    I make my sweaters on the round. Usually from the neck down. Then, sleeves are started from the arm hole down. I never have to sew anything. Even the granny square sweater can be crochet together as you go. Great video.

    I caught your cardigan video when it dropped about 6 months ago, so I was excited to see this in my feed. I love your energy and the way you demystify the process. I swear folks make it so much harder than it needs to be. I'm pretty decent at knitting and I love how it looks, but crochet is so much more fun and is always going to be unique because it cannot be replicated by machines. All things that have been crocheted have been made by hands. By hands. No exceptions. By the way--the sweater you're wearing is gorgeous! Great video.

    I use 2 panel when the directions of the stitches matters and you want the same direction front and back. Sew the two panels and leave the sleeve opening to fit your arms. You can then do the sleeves as a spiral instead of a panel.

  • @cinnamon2559

    If you haven’t already try a raglan!!! Its so easy and quite litterally requires zero sewing (aside from weaving in ends). You can make a cardigan or sweater and have the option of a top down or bottom up

  • @klindaba
    @klindaba 4 місяці тому +2

    I recommend working in circles because it has even less sewing, so I would start from the neckline then work on body and then add sleeves, or start from the bottom in a circle so I have the back and the front at the same time, but that way the sleeves have stripes in a different way so it kinda looks worse, so I should probably try making sleeves like in this video if I'll be making one from the bottom
