I am size 2XL and I made this sweater, here are some tips: 1. For the ribbings she doesn't mention this but is best if you use a smaller crochet hook or else it will look a bit wonky, I am still thinking of redoing mine. 2. Follow the same steps all the way to the armpit section, THAT is when sizes change, as I mentioned I am 2XL and instead of a chain of 5 I did 25, she looks like she is a size M maybe ? So maybe go for 5 chains more per size? Always make sure to keep trying it on, and that is not too tight around the armpits, once you know how many chains is comfortable for you,( just remember to keep an uneven number of chains here for later), then just keep the rows for body going as normal. 3. SLEEVES, in my size after I did 25 chains in armpit I first tried to follow the same as in the video but just as she mentions there was some extra fabric I didn't like there, so instead I followed the first round of 2 DC decrease, but then on round 2 I did again another 2 decreases on each corner and then round 3 I did only 1 DC decrease, and same 1 decrease until round 8 and then just let that be normal DC no decreases for me, til the end, when you get to the ribbing for sleeves, maybe try SC and then the ribbing w again a smaller hook. Mine took me 5-6 skeins of 240m yarn, and that was 4 colors, body and sleeves (2 white, 2 dark green and 1 orange, ribbing is 1 brown) I also did my color switching in blocks of 5 white, 5 orange, 8 dark green, repeated twice. Hope this helps! ❤
Does armpit section means after finishing the yoke I am a beginner and I want to adjust this pattern to my size I am a size 12 so how can I make it smaller😊
I know you posted this quite a while ago, but I just wanted to thank you for how thorough and clear you were at explaining your process and how to complete this pattern. This was my first project after not crocheting for about a year and I immediately was able to pick up where I left off because of how clear your tutorial was, so thank you!
This is the perfect pattern! Omg it fits so well. Already made 3 😍 Thank you for tutorials, they are always easy to understand and make. I really appreciate your work ❤️
@@Julia-jc2oo it really depends on the type of yarn I've used! I've made it in a weight 5 velvet yarn and that has worked up pretty quickly, about a week or so. The weight 4 yarn ones were more like 2-3 weeks depending on how busy I was :). Good luck with your jumpers! Xx
Hi! Can you give me an idea of the bust size in in or cm, plse? Or how many sts to start off with for M/L, as this tutorial looks quite small. Thank you!
@@AllGrowing so it depends on the yarn weight you use. But for me, I use her pattern of 50 for the neck and 100 dcs same as her as it gives a lovely fit. Then I continue until about row 12 or 13 and check the fit. Trial and error is a big part of crochet unfortunately. I'm a size m/l and found following this pattern fitted nicely up to a 98cm bust. It may differ for you tho! So be sure to try it out until you get the fit you like. :)
After watching many tutorials, I'm going to follow this one this afternoon ❤ I've done countless amigurumis, C2C Graphgan patterns, but never a garment. Wish me luck 😅 and thank you so much for the video 🥰
I LOVE this tutorial!! I feel like I can alternate it to my liking, try different kind of stitches as well, because now I know how it works. Thank you!!!
Great video. I so appreciate that you showed how to do the ribbing without having to turn the whole sweater. I have been crocheting forever and never knew! Thank you.
Thanks for taking the time to make this sweater and video! Crocheting a sweater would be entirely faster (for me at least) than knitting one. Not that I have anything against knitting, I'm just not an experienced knitter. Lots of color possibilities as well with this yarn♥

OH MY GOSHHHH.. I came across your channel a year or so ago for a bucket hat pattern and now coming back to it I see *all* these amazing other patterns! I’ve always stuck with toy patterns and have been afraid to tackle bigger projects like clothing, but you’ve made an amazing, simple and easy to understand pattern, thank you soooo much!
Thank you so much for this video and written pattern! I have just completed my very first sweater, hopefully with many more to come! It was actually fun following along - I expected it to get tedious fast, but it really wasn't. You explain everything really well. I have a question for my next sweater, though: I have noticed a lot of bunched fabric underneath the arms when I let them hang. When they're lifted, it all looks just fine! Is that just a property of raglan sweaters or can I maybe adjust the underarm chain to be slightly shorter next time? I'm a bit scared that that won't let me lift the arm once the sleeves are finished haha
Your instructions are thorough and easy to follow. Have you ever considered doing a crochet skirt that would match the top and/or the cardigan? Thanks again for this video.
You are amazing!Lovely the color combinations and especially how you did the decrease on the sleeves. I enjoyed learning from you and made one for my daughter; My very first crochet sweater. Will make one for my son too. So how do we do a baby size and daddy size? I am going to use your pattern for our Christmas family sweaters. 😅😅😂

Lovely! Thank you for the tutorial, definitely going to be added to my to-do list. I just wanted to know if instead of a Chain 2 space i could make it a Chain 1 so the holes aren't as prominent
This is super cute! I really want to try to make one for myself but the measurements will definitely need to be adjusted for me. I'm fairly new to crocheting so does anyone have any tips on how I can get accurate measurements? 🩷
Hello! Sorry for the silly question but I can't figure something out at the very beginning. When making rows for the ribbing do you make 49 rows and then slip stitch join counting that as the 50th row, or make 50 and then slip stitch. This is my first experience with such a method and I can't wrap my head around it😅 Thankyouuu ❤
Does it matter what size/ply yarn you use? From a chart I found it seems like medium 4 is 9-11 ply wool here in Australia, but I could only get 4, 8, or 12 ply so I went with the 8 ply...which apparently falls in the range of light 3 yarn?
I need help! My yarn is even thinner than yours and im using the same size crochet hook but my project ends up being so much bigger than yours. I pulled all now i will redo with a smaller hook :( but i don't know why it turned out like that.
Hello! I love this video and I'm hoping to use your pattern to make my first every wearable project! I have one question about the step at 9:50. You chain 2 with the peach colour and then go back to the space before it to do a dc. Why is it done that way, as opposed to just continuing forward with dcs after your first chain 2 of the row, and then adding the dc into that chain space at the end?
Great question!! This is so each round will start and end at the same spot. If you were to do it the way you described, your seam would slowly move to the left and be noticeable.
@@VivCrochets thanks so much! Another question - like at 7:20 why are we chaining 2 every 25 stitches when starting the increase, as opposed to doing a regular increase in that stitch?

yes it can be done in single it just will take longer. i think the size is small-medium i made mine it fits me well and my size is medium (i have looser tension thouh)
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial. I want to make for my boyfriend,he’s an XL I’m not so good with sizing, how many rows do you think I should do for the collar length. And how many rows should I do for the body of the sweater?
If you can measure him, I would just make the collar about the size of his neck or maybe smaller so it can stretch. Same for the body! But if it’s for a surprise and you can measure him, I would look up the measurements for XL and use those
Hi ma’am I’m so sorry to disturb you. I looked up the size chart and I’ve gotten the sizing. I did 18 inches for the collar as stated in the chart. I’m doing this with mohair and so far 40 stitches around the neck and then doubled to 80 for first row of the yoke but now I’m so lost 🥲 please help!!!
To increase your square, add 8 double crochets every round! So your next round should have 88 stitches because you’re adding 2 double crochets in each of the 4 chain 2 spaces
I have seen many crocheted sweaters that are made with the same length of both front and back part.. I wonder why is this the case? I thought that the back part should be longer for more comfortable wear of the sweater but I cannot find any tutorial where it would be done this way😮😢🤔

Question: When starting the yoke are the number if stitches double the number of rows of ribbing you have? Or do you add 50 no matter the size of sweater you are making?
you double it. so if you made 40 rows, you would have 80 stitches. just make sure it's divisible by 4 so you can split your yoke evenly
i love thissssss
Sorry I didn't understand how you increased 50 into 100 soon after you finished the collar please can you clear it??
Crochet 2 stitches in each rib of the collar
There are 50 rows of double crochet in the collar. You're working 2 stitches into the side of each row.
I am new to crochet, and am going to make a sweater. I saw everyone talking about 'blocking' the crochet projects, so I wonder if you also did the blocking for your sweaters and how do you wash and dry them?
