I’ve watched all of Lower Decks and TAS. If only there was a third Star Trek animated series I could watch.
I've heard rumors....legends...of a show. But it's only mythology, right?
Whispers of a great show that has a second season ready to go
I agree, but I cannot give your comment a thumbs up because it needs to be stuck at 69 likes.🤪
There is a third animated Star Trek series, it's Prodigy
@@Ooilei That was the joke. Thanks.
The audio warble during the Star Trek logo sequence was spot on.
I thought I was the only one who noticed that - such amazing attention to detail.
you mean the wow and flutter?
@@tulinfirenze1990Yes, you're very special, the only person in the world with functioning ears.
@@iViking90 Warble? Wtf is "wow and flutter"? XD
I zoned out for a second when he was talking about Risk and I thought he'd gone into a full megalomaniacal rant about wanting to take over Australia like Lex Luthor in Superman II. Pete Holmes, you're a legend.
Great to see M'Ress animated again after 48 years (since the cancellation of the cartoon in 1975). And, I daresay, animated even better (though that's a low bar to jump).
man has it really been 48 years??! Wow
I'm holding out hope that if _SNW_ gets a few more seasons we'll eventually get to see a Lt-jg. Uhura mentor a young Caitian cadet.
If the same arc features Ortegas teaching Hikaru how to fly while Pavel and Arex learn navigation from Number One... well, that would be mighty fine.
The last episode aired in 1974.
@@hifive789 The last "new" episode, yeah, as 6 more from a shortened second season were offered for the Fall 1974 TV season. But NBC reran the existing 16 + 6 episodes through the spring and summer of '75 until the Fall '75 schedule debuted.
Well, they only ever showed her from 2 angles, probably all her appearances were on the bridge.
As someone for whom the animated series was his first introduction to Trek, I'm glad that style hasn't been forgotten forever 😊
It was such a fun show.
Peck's voice on animated Spock is EPIC!
Was a nice touch to honour Leonard Nimoy's Spock
I love this, but i hope Gazelle Automations gets some credit for inspiring the concept
This is the most diverse bridge crew in all of Star Trek.
and it was not their strength.
Yep and the captain keeps putting his foot in it.
I'm offended!
You mean was lol. Also had the stupidist Captain Kirk lol. Must be an Alternate Universe.
@@sharonec5419It definitely is. The series was announced to be "anything but canon".
this was like a SNL skit from the 2010's.
I’m here for this level of weird.
That was bizarre with a capital B.
More than I expected!
This was like watching the Kobayashi Maru simulation run by a group of wish granting genies,as test coordinators
That has to be Lt. Mary Sue at the end. I'm here for her redemption arc.
Loving the 70s Star Trek animated vibe! I loved the Star Trek animated series back in the day!
Star Trek: Prodigy's Bonnie Gordon as the ship's computer. Would be nice if we could get the rest of Prodigy back.
i'm so bummed that they canceled Prodigy...and they don't acknowledge it anymore :(
@@skippythealien9627It really belonged at the end there with Lower Decks and TAS.
Heading to Netflix!
@@raedwulf61yup! I hope they keep the weekly model, rather than Netflix's usual all-at-once model.
I want a whole show around crewman Dumbass & Screw. Water Maintenance: The Next Animation. 🖖
I would think more hi jinks would occur if they were transferred to Cetacean Observations.
Sounds like a radio DJ pair. “Rock out your morning commute with Dumbass and the Screw!”
It seems so weird that they removed star trek prodigy on the very year where they focus on celebrating star trek animation.
The water pressure system, I feel, is probably there because of Cetacean Ops
Paamount just dropped the biggest retcon in media history. Can't belive this is now how Spock canonically dies.
Multiverse
Man i love M'Ress and man i hope we see her again!!❤
Not gonna lie I did always wondered if the phrase "more ways to skin a cat" was offensive to Caitians
Probably. Also I fully expect T'ana to say it at some point anyway.
🤣🤣🤣 That was absolutely asinine and I loved it!
Suddenly 8 more copies of the left-console water pressure crewmember appear...
"Whaaat?"
When's M'Ress coming to live action Trek?
when they can convince someone to spend about 7+ hours a day in makeup every day =P
When the Great Furry Uprising arrives. And we all hope it will.
a Caitian woman was going to appear as the crime boss that Seven kills in PIC S1 but they said it was too expensive
@@Trakker1985 Red Dwarf did it in 1988, Doctor Who in 2006. This is now 2023. I'm sure we can have live action Caitians.
One appeared on the Federation Council in Star Trek IV.
The fact that his final gambit *worked*! Love this short!
It didn't, actually. He took too long, and the ship exploded.
Love the recreation of the intro in the TAS style
Is that Pete Holmes as the captain?! This is the best choice and I need more of this ASAP.
Spot on my friend 🖖
Agreed. Pete Holmes and Star Trek is a combination I never thought I’d see and I love it.
Love Pete!
I thought he died in the 80s because of AIDs after doing a lot of porn.
@351cleavland That would be John Holmes lol
Love the wow/flutter of the intro
Lt M'Ress back in the fur!
I think M'ress is on the wrong station, otherwise - no notes!
🤣
Awesome! I love how the ending of this episode CLEARLY showed the spacetime event that transported M'Ress and Arex forward in time to serve on Captain Elizabeth Shelby's USS Trident in 2376! 🐱
Huh? It looks like the ship explodes.
@@thequantaleaper to quote Doc Brown, “you’re not thinking fourth-dimensionally, Marty!”
@ussbenterprise oh, I see.. it's some silly non-canon novel thing. Carry on.
@@thequantaleaper it's only non-canon until it shows up in a tv show or movie. :) We did see Shelby in Picard season 3. Maybe if you look reaaaaaaly closely you will see cat hair on her uniform, and if you analyze it with a mass spectrometer you will also see the resonant frequency of the Trident still vibrating her uniform molecules, thereby canonically putting M'Ress and Arex on the USS Trident into canon. Q.E.D.!
I didnt know that I needed Star Trek Sealab2020 in my life, but Im here for it
Yes! That's what this is! ❤️
Kinda felt like one of those Family Guy cutaway gags that went even longer than those do (did?)
Sorry, I know everyone is loving the look and feel of this, which is absolutely phenomenal. But the theme? My God, it's beautiful. I want a longer version of it, it's just so wonderful to listen to.
This was massive garbage. The guy who voiced the captain makes this an snl skit.
@@_PatrickOyour opinion is garbage 🤢
I miss M'Ress i wish she could return again in lower decks!
Feels a bit off seeing M'Ress's eyes both looking in the same direction, and her not sounding stoned out of her mind lmao
It’s almost nothing better than Star Trek. It fills me with joy.
Almost nothing better...
Some definite Sealab 2021 vibes at the end. But they were wearing the one joke a bit thin. You could say...beating a de--
*Clopping noises increase*
Rainbow Dash *was* drawn in a TOS uniform in one of the comics. Command division, lieutenant commander.
(Another time the CMC and Discord were doing sillyness and briefly ended up on a TNG-esque ship... with Discord dressed in the formal Q outfit. That was a pretty good laugh, since Discord is basically My Little Pony Q, right down to being voiced by John de Lancie)
Damn a couple months ago you could have also added prodigy on there but seems like you don't want to ever mention it again
I was not expecting Pete Holmes. That was a nice surprise!
I'm still surprised you didn't ask Gazelle Automations to make these since they did those awesome TNG and Voyager animated segments
And Miikshi is amazing, you know, in case they wanted to up the novelty factor of SNW by having a puppet episode too!! :)
@@StooDogg i still want them to do a DS9 and Enterprise animated segment
@@Calculon1712 Oh yeah!! Enterprise episode 'Proving ground' I think it was called, Season 3 - Shran and the Andorian Mining Consortium scene would be fun!! DS9 Klingon fight from Way Of The Warrior would be amazing too!!
@@StooDogg with DS9, Move Along Home could work in that animation style lol
I was not expecting this to be that funny
Star Trek, by way of Sealab 2021. Okay yeah, I'll take more of these. Thanks.
oh boy.....this is not short enough.
Did that Entrprise have 10-Forward?
Pikes second refit had a forward bar.
Fitting with his love of game shows, I like that the Price is Right wheel spin sound effect is part of his ideal leisure time.
Was it Price is Right? Or was it Wheel of Fortune? It definitely wasn't Press Your Luck because he kept getting whammied!😅
Funny as hell! I watched the TOS and TAS as a kid, and this vaptured the feel of TAS very nicely, and the comedy was priceless...might have been even funnier with Shatner parodying Kirk, but this still gave an OG Trekker a good laugh!
Amen, OG brother
Anything with M’Ress is cool with me.
That was totally off the wall, and surprisingly awesome 😆
You're missing Prodigy. 😢
Prodigy actor was the computer voice
@@peterchristian1815
It's a start. Now they have to un-memory-hole Prodigy.
Animated Star Treks? Like Prodigy!
Like The Animated Series, like Lower Decks, like Prodigy, like several episodes of Short Treks. So, yeah. :)
Oh man. I hope these do well enough to keep them coming.
This was wonderful, Pete Holmes is a gem
Never heard of the guy...
not surprising. He's never really broken through into mainstream comedy, but he's been consistently doing his thing for a long time. TBS actually gave him a late night show for a moment. He also had an HBO show that ran 3 seasons.
@@SwiftNimblefootwatch his Batman or X-men stuff. It’s hilarious.
@@Kiwibirdman1701 And Street Fighter interviews
“One day…one night…boom…Kobiashi Maru.”
That was so stupid. And I want more. 😂
Ethan Peck solid as Spock. That’s not Paul Wesley though? Is meant to be Kirk?
Don't think so. He's drawn differently from TAS Kirk and the credits in the video description just call him "Captain."
An odd choice because 'who else would the captain be...?'
The official Star Trek channel actually posted this? Wow, just...wow. 🙄
This is Lower Decks quality humor
I need to see Pete Holmes reprise this character live!! Soooo funny! 😂
wow, that was... abysmal, actually. I was really excited for these, but if this is setting the tone for what's to come, I couldn't be more disappointed.
lmao, cope
Yep, this is definitely the guy behind TOO MANY COOKS (and quite likely some of the "infomercials" from Adult Swim too)!
Funky acknowledging Kirk's HR violations
the audacity of y'all "celebrating star trek animation" after cancelling prodigy for no good reason 🙃
He took too long to think up of his perfect woman! 🤣
Idk if I liked this or not.
It kind of had the same problem as a lot of bad Family Guy cutaways, where it starts off funny, but drags on too long because they don't know how to end the joke.
Can we just acknowledge that the Division emblem on the Screw guy's delta is a Phillips screw head? 😂
Considering how rocks always seem to magically fall from the ceiling, I wouldn’t be surprised that the bridge would need water maintenance staff. 😆
This almost feels like a Family Guy cutaway gag.
That was so stupid that I had to laugh… and the “boop boop boop boop… boop… boop…”.
Only Casper Kelly could come up with something this delightfully absurd.
This is bizarrely awesome.
Omg, the fish people from TNG: Manhunt! 😂
This reminds me of SNL's TV Funhouse segments.
getting control of Australia quickly is actually a very popular win strategy in RISK
Seeing Spock without hearing Nemoy's voice come out is so jarring... even if the new Spock's pretty good.
Wow, just when you thought it couldn't get worse.
Just stop watching Karen.
and then it didn't :)
@@awesomedayz3465 I don't like to watch Karen because she's annoying.
@@davidm4566 Well played.
@@awesomedayz3465 Haha thank you, good sir.
Edit: no fair editing your original comment. Then people won't see the joke.
Can't wait to see more of these! Setting phasers to FUN!
I get powerful Saturday TV Fun House vibes from this
aha, a parody of an average day on Twitter =P
Wow, this was…rough.
His bit about Risk sent me😂
That was... Weird.
But I love it all the same.
This short is genius 🤣
oh watch more star trek animation? I sure do enjoy Star Trek Prodigy you didnt bother to mention at the end
I believe that was THE one and only true Mary Sue there!
Closing theme song is "Star Battles" by Valentino
Pete Holmes is my new favourite Captian
I would’ve self-destructed the ship 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ok this is off the rails crazy. LOL!
I'm dying. 😹🤣😹🤣😹🤣
OMG. This is the best thing ever!!
Finally, a star trek show which takes longer to watch than it did to write.
Great video but again a censorship of Prodigy in the end card. Like wtf?
This was a fun 4 Minutes, wasn't it? When will it have its limited VHS release?
So this is how he met Carol Marcus.
That was very funny. Let me write some!

This is the greatest thing I've ever seen
Pay the writers and actors!
Haha this is so out they lol i love it
Love the filmation styles
I have no idea how to receive this. What is it supposed to be a comment on? Men? Women? Politics? Diversity? I don’t get it. And it definitely doesn’t strike me as Star Trek. Honestly, I didn’t like it. Sure, I was raised on the original season, so maybe I don’t get today’s productions. But if this is what Star Trek has become, I’m not interested.
i absolutely love this! more please. lmfao
