DS9 and VOY were concurrent for several years, with Voyager starting at DS9. It makes sense for them to sound the most similar, one was established and sending the other on its own way.
I feel the same. Got goosebumps at that point. 😍 VOY has for me always had the most beautiful intro music. I am a bit sad that DSC goes into a more foreboding theme, but I also understand that it needs to speak to a younger audience who is used to more action. Here the theme was beautifully performed.
Loved DS9 and Voyager transition. Voyagers theme is so emotional. A crew attempting to stay optimistic so far from home. Impossible odds against them, but soldiering on.
DS9's theme was powerful, because it was so lonely. That single trumpet carrying the melody for the first verse. The Voyager theme had a similar meaning. Loneliness and (shall I say) despair.
@@bobbwc7011the way the producers had a magic reset button at the end of every episode was pretty sad. The show had a 7 year story arc (get home) but couldn't show accumulated damage to the ship? Come on now...
@@mikehatz3942 Voyager isn't flying through a barren wasteland. There are various celestial bodies to collect raw materials from, civilizations to trade with, replicators with which to fabricate replacement parts, and a crew to do repair work. Voyager's biggest problem isn't repairs. The biggest problem is running out of fuel or dilithium. Scarcity of fuel is the reason replicator use is rationed and Neelix prepares meals the old-fashioned way. One wonders how a starship with fusion reactors could ever run out of fuel, though, considering the abundance of hydrogen in space. Gas giants are made out of it.
Gene is smiling down when he sees how far his creation has gone. How many lives its touched, how much progress its inspired. I'll bet even he didn't think it would still be going after 50+ years.
Wow, this... this is a lot. I used to watch TNG, Voyager, DS9 and Enterprise every evening with my father a few years ago. It was like an evening ritual for us two until alcohol slowly took it away... he died last February. It makes me want to cry, but at the same time I‘m so grateful for Star Trek. It reminds me of the good times we had. Thank you for the beautiful arrangement.
My dad was.murded by Kidney failure years ago. We watched the movies and tng together. While ST is dead to me sents JJ and Discovery but the old trek brings back some great memory's. And as Gene would say. Hope for the future.
As a composer and arranger myself. The transitions are phenomenal. So hard to not make something like this sound like a "medley" You've created an overture to Star Trek!
don't you think she blunted a few notes that are expected to stand out, even falling flat in a few spots? I dunno, there were just a few spots I was disappointed.
Voyager may not have been the strongest of the classic Trek series, but damn its theme tune always gives me goosebumps and this is no exception when it popped up in this beautiful rendition. Sublime work! :)
One of my favorite parts of the Voyager theme is the subtle homage to "A Star Beyond Time" (Ilia's Theme) from ST:TMP. 🙂 All of these are beautifully played. Thanks! 🖖
@@roy1701d I hadn't heard that one, so went to give it a listen and see what you mean! Do I detect an influence here on the opening of the Picard theme too?
I'm proud to admit that I'm a Trekkie, and hearing all of these themes meld together into one beautifully composed piece is stunning. Very well played!
...estava refletindo sobre isso, a forma orgânica como as trilhas se uniram formando uma longa e bela composição. Fiquei realmente tocada pelas belas lembranças que me trouxeram de Star Trek. Uau! grata.
And adventure and hope. They were on a journey in the direction of home unsure if they would ever see anyone they knew, again. This brought them closer than most crews ever could. I could hear that in the theme song.
Grandmother just died today. Listening to this really helps deal with the loss. Wish she was still here along with my grandfather he really loved the Star trek series.
My mother got me into Star Trek with first contact. For years I dismissed it, but we eventually sat down and watched a few episodes but then decided to watch enterprise together. We’ve not finished it, but when I hear the theme it makes me think of all the good memories we’ve had watching it. Brings a tear to my eyes.
First off: that is probably the most interesting violin design I’ve ever seen; secondly: this was an awesome take on the themes of one of the best tv series.
Not having ever played violin, I would still imagine that this design is a blessing to necks and spines. I've always wondered if violinists suffered from scoliosis and other issues from prolonged tension of supporting a violin the way it's traditionally done.
@@RetNemmoc555 ergonomics have never been a priority in anything "classical". Star Trek dreams of advanced technology that's actually unambiguously *good* - that solves humanity's biggest problems, removes the motivation behind humanity's darkest impulses, and gives us the means to achieve something greater than merely surviving or acquiring wealth. What a beautiful dream. _Human civilization must survive._ It must not be allowed to collapse. This dream must not be allowed to fade away before it can be realized.
there are tiny bits of surprising lore in this video. There's a lil defiant flying through Ds9's rings DS9 transitions to Voyager just like in the beginning of Voyager The Enterprise main theme is Faith of the heart, but a ton of fans regard "Archer's theme" as the actual main theme of Enterprise, which is the one played in the video. Nice.
Thank you for noticing 🙂 we tried to be as faithful as we could be with the lore of the franchise. Could have gotten a Starfleet uniform or better makeup but alas... quarantine 😅
@@VioDanceMusic I think it was quite brilliantly done. Could be seen as going through the years with the TOS style uniform from the start to the end. Almost like having a time machine .
"Archer's Theme" was the music that was actually composed by one of the Star Trek composers, and not a ripped off tune from another soundtrack (Where My Heart Will Take Me was already used for the Patch Adams soundtrack). I really hope the "Strange New Worlds" soundtrack will be very reminiscent of Courage's TOS theme.
@@VioDanceMusic perfect choice. I admit I gritted my teeth waiting for the Enterprise theme, but your choice was absolutely beautiful and seamless. Thank you, you made me cry a bit!
The transition from DS9 to Voyager was visually terrific. The transition from Voyager to Enterprise was musically flawless. And the Picard theme... just outstanding! It was funny, though, that you went with Archer's theme (the outro) for Enterprise, rather than Faith of the Heart, which I'm sure Trekkies everywhere greatly appreciate you doing! LOL Great work!
What I love about all these themes is that they talk so clearly about the personality of the shows: TOS is adventurous; TNG is bold and epic; DS9 is hopeful; Voyager is longing an sad, it struggles, but with a hint of hope (my favorite for how it sounds here); Enterprise and Picard I haven't watched, but Enterprise sounds very classic Star Trek and Picard sounds super nostalgic (which would be fitting); Discovery sounds very cerebral and defiant. Love all these shows. Love how you've arranged their music. :')
The Enterprise theme played here is "Archer's Theme" which is actually the outro music played during the credits. The main theme is, controversially, the song "Faith of the Heart" by Russell Watson.
picard is pretty awesome. the theme is the best IMO since ds9. the composer talks about his influences... part nostagia... flute... tng at the end... but the show is all new and forward while honoring it's past. ua-cam.com/video/4WztwVpx74A/v-deo.html
@@mami3427 I was a baby when TOS first aired, but my mother watched it and chances are I was in the room as well. By about ten years later, it was a Saturday morning show (after cartoons) and my father watched it before we made the weekly shopping trip. So I, reluctantly at first, watched it with him, eventually coming to love the show. So there is a valid reason to assume that most TOS fans are 50+ years old by now. But! Through the magic of the Internet (and video sales and rental stores, and ongoing syndicated airings), younger generations have been exposed as well. My sister once made a TOS reference to her daughter (currently about age 15, then, probably about age 10)… being a rather inquisitive child, my niece insisted on seeing an episode of this show her mother had referenced. So they watched an episode via some streaming service and my niece was hooked. I believe Mr Spock is her favorite
@@mami3427 l've watched and enjoyed each series from TOS through Enterprise. They have been inspiring, high points in my life. Always love classical orchestral music so Faith of the Heart was initially jarring, but I came to appreciate it because of the lyrics and recognized the tone was meant to show the spirit, courage, isolation, and audacity of early explorers. Successive season's arrangements were equivocating mistakes. TOS began as I started middle school so its theme always has the most thrilling impact. I found that TOS enhanced the beauty of the starry night sky with mystery and optimism. Each series had weak points. The near weekly Capt. Kirk romance became irksome. TNG started with weak scripts, then improved. Voyager failed to follow through with the Maqui tension and character development of Chakotay, and I loved Seven of Nine's character arc despite the producers suffocating her in a constricting bodysuit. Eventually my interest in Enterprise faded and I stopped watching. Perhaps because Deep Space Nine jettisoned self-contained episodic story treatment and had Star Fleet crew intermeshed with other humans and species, it has blinded me to its failings; it remains my top favorite of the 5 series.
Today I realized that the sequence of Star Trek melodies can be compared to the progression of themes for a single human lifetime. The Original Series begins with a youthful and energetic theme that suggests the ambition of a young Captain Kirk. The Next Generation conveys confidence and pride as the Federation has become very established in the galaxy. DS9 provides a powerful theme that seems to reflect on the experiences of not only the Federation, but also Benjamin Sisko's nonlinear memory of his own past suffering. A beautiful and wistful theme represents Voyager's Captain Janeway and her crew in their nostalgic longing for home while it also embraces Star Trek's original sense of adventure. Another extraordinary composition, Archer's Theme calls forth a mature sense of serenity and wisdom in a melody that rivals the elegance of Voyager's theme. On the other hand, Discovery seems to convey agitation and instability, suggesting a time of chaos and decline. Representing the twilight of a lifetime, Picard's evocative and sublime melody clearly conveys the melancholy of Jean-Luc Picard himself. The Original Series: Ambition The Next Generation: Pride Deep Space Nine: Reflection Voyager: Nostalgia Archer's Theme: Wisdom Discovery: Agitation Picard: Melancholy
@@AnthonyD0311 I listed the shows in the order of their creation in the real world. Let's hope the franchise will find a source of sustained regeneration for the future.
I would say self-confidence instead of pride for TNG, and impatience instead of agitation for STD, but otherwise agree. My first thougt on Voyager was homesick, but nostalgia fits better.
Amen, Cody. DS9 is definitely the most haunting and dare I say profound of all the themes and reflects the shades of grey throughout the best Star Trek series.
I was too young for TOG but saw it in reruns in the early 70s. Then got SO EXCITED that they were doing a new one with STNG. Watched all of DS9 and Voyager, but got pissed off with Enterprise when they turned the Vulcans into practically villains so I stopped. I just watch DS9 and Voyager in reruns.
I don’t know or care about what producers would say but as a spectator, as a fan, the transition from DS9 to Voyager was such a beautiful moment in the whole Star Trek saga!!!!
That transition from DS9 to Voyager had me on the verge of tears. It's so beautiful. The Voyager theme almost always brings me to tears. It's such a gorgeous song and I have loved the show for longer than I can even remember. It's always been a part of my life so it has such a special place in my heart.
The Enterprise theme... Archer's theme is such an amazing track and this piece of musical brilliance just emphasises that. Thank you for such a beautiful rendition.
Holy gods, the Picard theme hit my heart. It makes me so nostalgic for a time I don’t even know when. Perhaps the future, or perhaps the vast amount of references to the past in the show. Great work on all of them!
I remember when Star Trek had the first black protagonist or female captain protagonist, as well as so many various topics covered by the TV episodes. Who knew at that time that they were already ahead of their time in covering all these social issues but they didn't make it an issue, they just portrayed things in a normal and customary way.
As a child born in the mid 1960s, I was somehow blissfully unaware of the social turbulence happening in the real world at the time and simply assumed that large cities were as peacefully integrated as seen on Sesame Street and the humans on Star Trek.
While Janeway was the 1st female captain in a series, there is a cameo of an African American female captain of a starship at the beginning of Star Trek IV. Nice to see how much the Starfleet changed between the end of the Original Series on Kirk's Enterprise & Star Trek IV. The series finale of TOS was all about a female Starfleet officer going insane due to the rule that females are not allowed to be starship captains. People tend to view Trek in an alternate light in how they portrayed social progress. Roddenberry was VERY inconsistent at it. In BALANCE OF TERROR of the TOS, RACISM was very much a part of Starfleet, and still existed in Star Trek VI. Bu magically, by the time of TNG, Roddenberry decided females captains were okay & everyone in Starfleet is PERFECT without conflict or racism. While I LOVE how TOS evolved, when they changed from The Cage with a female First Officer to the TOS with Spock as 1st officer, the network was FINE with keeping the female 1st officer but t was RODDEBERRY who decided to scrap her & promote Spock instead. So, even in the late 60s, the NETWORK had NO PROBLEM with a WOMAN in a command position . There is also a PR story Roddenberry said - that may or may not be true - about keeping Uhura around but HE claims the network says a BLACK female can NEVER be in command of the ship. I find that questionable since they were fine with a WHITE female in command. But the 60s was probably more RACIST than SEXIST, so who knows!? Oh well, people like to think of Trek's optimistic non-racists, non-sexist, perfect humans in the TNG era instead of the reality of TOS. And that's fine. Facts & reality aside, Just sayin.
@@europeanpatriot8031 Go home wokey, your name isn't fooling me. Discovery made a black protagonist for political reasons, in DS9 it was story telling and world building.
It shows how much of an impact it had on his life. He’s just as much Kamin the Iron-Weaver as he is Jean-Luc Picard the Starfleet officer, diplomat, and vintner.
Im not a big fan of Picard. the show is (as Jean Luc says in the Picard show) an UNMITIGATED DISASTER! the theme is pretty good though. Its way better than the Discovery theme which is just very generic, stock music sounding.
Star trek is what keeps me hopeful each day as I watch the news, study human history, and enjoy my daily life. Because in spite of our wars, neglect, and current social problems, I truly believe in Gene Roddenberry's vision.

We failed there lol - "You should have stopped at Enterprise / Last 2 are not canon / Discovery sux": While we also prefer the older Trek, we think that these series are part of it and couldn't leave them out. Besides, you can't deny that all the soundtracks are beautiful and they have the most amazing composers! - "That's not a violin / It has frets, you don't know how to play the violin / electric violins are for losers": I record all my tracks with my acoustic "traditional" violin, or else it would be impossible to keep a consistency on our audios. As you already have figured out I don't play live on the videos and use different electric or acoustic violins depending on the video's theme. However, an electric violin is an excellent option for live performances and it doesn't mean that the violinist is less talented. - "Too many flares": Like J.J. An admiral telling Picard to "Shut the fuck up"... what smooth-brain thought that up?!
So cool! For years, Voyager's theme was the only one I didn't skip through when binging. Now, I cannot get enough of Picard's theme. So beautifully written and arranged, almost as if you can feel the optimism to do good, be good, and inspire good within in.
You know it's a good cover when the artist gives you a new larger appreciation for the piece. I was never really into Star Trek, but this just gave me a new found appreciation for the intros...and as usual I will sincerely say "beautiful as always".
The haunting melody of Picard is so appropriate. Tinged with sadness and regret, to me it represents the sound of a human mind struggling to remember a word, or a memory, that is just out of reach. Like a word on the tip of one's tongue that one is trying to find. A poignant statement on the aging process of a man who led a well-lived life. Elegant and wistful, aware that the end is approaching, searching for meaning, purpose, and a just-right epitaph. This video represents a lot of hard work. Well done!
As a lifelong fan of the franchise, I'm intimately familiar with each of the themes from all the series, and this rendition was absolutely beautiful. The entire bit had me moved to tears.
I grew up with TNG, and to me that's the ultimate show, but there's something incredibly special about the DS9 theme. It's just so...grand, emotional, and fits the series so well. And your rendition of Archer's theme may be the most beautiful version I've ever heard.
Both ds9 themes are great! Season 1-3 was a few horns. As season 4 started the station was busier so they made the theme deeper with more horns and guitars
It is just amazing to me how well the Voyager theme has aged. I used to think it was ok but nothing too special at the time, but hearing it now.. It's totally amazing
These themes make me long for a lost world. Our world. I miss the times when we could all experience Star Trek together just by tuning in at the right time. Today, so much is separated into subscriptions and paywalls. Was an occasional 30 second ad or two really so much to endure that we’ve given up our shared lives and our love of the vibrancy and hope that Star Trek embodied?

I mean, it's easier than ever to watch Star Trek in all it's glory. I agree about a long lost world though, Star Trek was hopeful, uplifting Sci-Fi, it portrayed a better world, progress towards a utopian world from a time in history when we looked forward to a better world. Fast foward to today, and Sci-Fi is no longer hopeful, it is dark, dystopian and it reflects how we all feel in this depressingly backwards time of fake news, anti-intellectualism and violently partisan politics. I long for a time when Sci-Fi is hopeful again, because we are hopeful.
Hearing them all like this...how many of us have such emotional investment in the STverse--I think of the friends I'd watch it with, now somewhere in a nebula, and this medley transports them all back. Such a great project for the lockdown and so well done.

DS9 and VOY were concurrent for several years, with Voyager starting at DS9. It makes sense for them to sound the most similar, one was established and sending the other on its own way.

VOY has for me always had the most beautiful intro music.
Voyager was a shitshow, unfortunately.
DS9's theme was powerful, because it was so lonely. That single trumpet carrying the melody for the first verse. The Voyager theme had a similar meaning. Loneliness and (shall I say) despair.

I've never noticed that the Deep Space Nine music was so beautiful.
Best of the shows, too.

First off: that is probably the most interesting violin design I’ve ever seen; secondly: this was an awesome take on the themes of one of the best tv series.
It is a Mark Wood electric violin, famous for the fretted fingerboard and a balanced weight.

@@lawrenceallwright7041 That's probably why at 4:26 the camera panned from the violin to the Insignia on her shirt.

"Archer's Theme" was the music that was actually composed by one of the Star Trek composers, and not a ripped off tune from another soundtrack (Where My Heart Will Take Me was already used for the Patch Adams soundtrack).

That may play into why I liked it better than ds9.

Wait until you listen to Enterprise's "Faith of the Heart" and tell me if you still think it is very classic Star Trek :D :D :D

My mom was the original series. for me it was the next generation. I love all trek tho.

The original Star Trek, Star Trek next generation, and Star Trek voyager raised me. They will forever hold a place in my heart
I fuckin love Star Trek sorry
The Original Series: Ambition
The Next Generation: Pride
Deep Space Nine: Reflection
Voyager: Nostalgia
Archer's Theme: Wisdom
Discovery: Agitation
Picard: Melancholy

Such a beautiful tribute video to all the Star Trek shows, absolutely amazing, great job!!!!!
You do realise that you pointing it out, makes you a part of the problem which you just described, right?
Truth is truth. And fact was fact. Nowadays too many cannot. WILL NOT. see that. I fear for this country
A 92 yr old trekker

We stopped answering to comments but wanted to clarify some things that some of you keep stating over and over:
- "Badge on the wrong side": we did it so it's seen, if not the violin would be blocking it.
- "TOS bridge is wrong / LCARS / looks horrible / etc": yeah, we know... We failed there lol
- "You should have stopped at Enterprise / Last 2 are not canon / Discovery sux": While we also prefer the older Trek, we think that these series are part of it and couldn't leave them out.
Abrams, Davor feels that there is no such thing as too many flares... Only too few flares.
For all of you that have left nice comments and appreciate our work, we thank you! We try to read all the comments at least once a week, and it's very heart-warming to see the reception this video had.

They're all amazing and each one makes me cry joyfully.
Good times, good times. Remember when the future was optimistic? I remember.
It still is.
I remember, and I remember when Star Trek reflected that hope. Discovery and Picard are definitely a sign of the times, and it doesn't look good.
These are difficult times. However, we should remember this: "There is no correct resolution. It's a test of character." (James T. Kirk)
Pepperidge farm remembers!
Yes but remember that according to star trek timeline we’re headed towards the wars on terrorism and then the creation of enhanced soldiers.
I forgot how beautiful DS9's theme was. I enjoyed this so much.
DS9's theme makes me want to learn an instrument just so I can play it :)
The Picard theme gave me chills. Brilliant medley!
Thank you ❤❤
The music was absolutely lovely, of course. But I also want to add that it was a very handsome use of CG and AI graphics. Well done.
"Stirring" doesn't even begin to do this justice. This is deeply moving. Thank you for making this.
My Dad was a true Trekkie. He went on to join the adventure Thursday. God speed Dad

@@Daisy-ef6bq yeah ok troll
I legit cried while watching this. Picard's intro is probably the most beautiful
This is one of the most beautiful violin suites I have ever heard. I am truly humbled by your talent.
You know it's a good cover when the artist gives you a new larger appreciation for the piece. I was never really into Star Trek, but this just gave me a new found appreciation for the intros...and as usual I will sincerely say "beautiful as always".
Thank you!! I recommend you give the series a try (my favorite is Voyager)... but that is if you are a scifi fan 🙂
Well done!
2:28 any bets the doggy will get promoted over Harry Kim 😂
Poor young Harry!
LOL
I thought that was Harry Kim, I just thought I got evolved again, but this time to a dog!
I like how as trekies we just ignore Seven's optical implant and just see the operations station and think " Ah, yeah good old Harry"
I'm sorry but that was very clearly seven, the implant my dude
I love the people who are into star trek they are the future of humanity ❤
It is what we all yearn for...a future with hope
Absolutely 💯 @@wy498
As a lifelong fan of the franchise, I'm intimately familiar with each of the themes from all the series, and this rendition was absolutely beautiful. The entire bit had me moved to tears.
I grew up with TNG, and to me that's the ultimate show, but there's something incredibly special about the DS9 theme. It's just so...grand, emotional, and fits the series so well. And your rendition of Archer's theme may be the most beautiful version I've ever heard.
I agree with everything
Yep. Agreed.
Both ds9 themes are great! Season 1-3 was a few horns. As season 4 started the station was busier so they made the theme deeper with more horns and guitars
Thank you ❤❤
It is just amazing to me how well the Voyager theme has aged. I used to think it was ok but nothing too special at the time, but hearing it now.. It's totally amazing
This is an utterly gorgeous compilation, the transitions are flawless and it makes me weep like a baby. Bravo, girl.
Carry on.
TOS ran at about 48 mins an episode. Now they have almost 25 mins of ads today, so you can see the TOS only heavily edited today, a butchered classic.
Just watch it for free I do screw cbs
@@davidmarquardt2445 I mean... I think they're all on CBS all access streaming w/ no ads; I think I get them included w/ Amazon Prime w/ no ads; or you can get them on DVD/Bluray with no ads / no streaming / work forever / top quality. (or pirate them). :D
The spirit of star trek lives on in internet piracy
Hearing them all like this...how many of us have such emotional investment in the STverse--I think of the friends I'd watch it with, now somewhere in a nebula, and this medley transports them all back. Such a great project for the lockdown and so well done.
That's a beautiful comment. Thank you ❤
TOS: nostalgic and intriguing
TNG: thought-provoking and awe-inspiring
DS9: story-driven and dramatic
VOY: emotionally moving
ENT: action-packed
STD: STD
@@Gaalsien you do realize the correct term is DIS or DSC? Not fucking STD. We dont call voyager or enterprise STV or STE now do we.
DIS and PIC aren't trek at all. So no problem here. Orville is trek! 😁
@@diymicha4905 Quite right. 'The Orville' is the true successor to STTNG. 🙂
@@HoneydewMellon Yep. The moment someone calls it "STD" I know they have nothing of value to contribute. Kind of like people declaring that X recent Star Trek series "isn't Trek" because they don't like it.
This is just absolutely amazing!
I gotta admit, I really love Picard's theme. It's very beautiful.
