It was intentional because there were many similar errors in cartoons of the era the original animated season aired in
@@DancingRasputin Yeah one of the people working on the animated series had a kind of colour blindness and he didn't realise. That's why we get orange Orion and pink Tribbles & other colour mistakes.

It is noteworthy that in 2 short seasons, Ethan Peck's voice has become the embodiment of Spock (with just a hint of his grandfather to give it a touch of class). No need for Nimoy impersonations, Peck has made Spock his own.
Certainly did not see that coming when he was introduced in Discovery.
Excellent casting in what was, no doubt, the more challenging role to cast.

I've seen some of the fan productions, and they don't seem to have considered how important the low timbre of Nimoy's voice was to the part.

Much funnier than the first. It was dark which isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I could see a young Spock being so incredibly lost when it comes to humor
As they say, "Dark Humour is like Food, Not everyone gets it". I laughed my ass off at the "In Memorium" line.
The random unnecessary gore is part and parcel of these adult swim type of cartoons.
Seeing the SNW crew animated like this is so satisfying. I was smiling the whole time.
I miss Hemmer so much. There was literally no logical reason to have killed him off like that.
Well they needed a way to bring in Scotty but yes I mess Hemmer I like seeing Andorians used we never see they only on Enterprise which was great I don’t care what anyone says

They kinda had to, because Hemmer doesn't believe in killing (outside of self defense I think, but he personally wouldn't kill another individual) and that's what they'd probably have to do to the gorn hatchlings inside of him

Yes, do a complete live action version with the Lower Decks characters. But keep it short.
This was MUCH better than the first one, but it was weird seeing Saru in a uniform that won't be invented for almost 1000 years.

It's a Star Trek TAS gag, characters would appear in the wrong uniform constantly throughout the series.

Ok, who had the idea to do this in the style of The Animated Series? Whoever it was, you get a raise.
Yes, I greatly prefer it to the "Rick & Morty" animation style. Looks way more realistic. Maybe do a Lower Decks Very Short Trek in the TAS style animation also.
@@rickjohnston2667 Please no, I don't care for low budget 'retro' animation, and I grew up with it. Now I will agree that the LD art style doesn't fit the SNW crew, but I'm gonna go ahead and say that Lower Decks is not 'Rick & Morty' style. I hate that people still try to spin LD like that just because it has adult humor almost as a way to continually try to discredit it from being canon and more loyal to Star Trek than any of the other modern shows have been. So no, LD's animation style shares far more in common with Gravity Falls, Owl House and Amphibia than it does with Rick & Morty.
I wish you would give all this TAS love to Prodigy. Please bring it back.
Prodigy has to wait forty years before it will be acceptable to Paramount. That's the rules.

These very short treks feel like things the people on the ships' lower decks would make about their senior officers.

@@andrewklang809 I believe the OP meant that Saru was wearing the 32nd century uniform and thus that part could theoretically have been set 900 years after SNW (though the other crewmen were wearing the Disco uniforms, which could mean it took place prior to SNW and thus potentially making Saru's uniform the blooper).

The biggest failing of SNW was prematurely killing off one of the very best characters it made. RIP Hemmer. You deserved so much better.

This whole effort feels like a missed opportunity to properly pay homage to The Animated Series. I much more prefer the recent fan-made animated adaptations of Best of Both Worlds and Threshold.

Better than the first (not a high bar to reach) but still has a way to go. Probably could have done without seeing the guts on the transporter mishap. It's almost like a set of the bad Saturday Night Live skits. Hopefully the rest will get better.
The gore from the transporter accident was what made it so funny lmao

Here is another blooper: Paramount+ will soon run out of new content, and they canceled an entire season of “Prodigy” that was ready to air. And irony: They invite us to get into more Star Trek animation, but pretend that 20 episodes of Prodigy don’t even exist. Ha. Ha ha. Ha.

I get what they're going for with the memorial, but Vulcans perceive grief differently. What I mean is, there is an OG Star Trek episode where Spock feels intense emotion after a ship is destroyed and everyone wonders why. He basically explains using the Stalin quote 'a single death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic' but Vulcans feel the opposite. The greater the loss of life the more negative emotion they feel and the more impactful it is for them.

That first blooper was somehow worse than the accident in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. I'd even say that it's up there with The Fly as far as teleportation accidents go.
Can't we just do a warp core ejection joke where someone points out that in the event of the ejection system being offline there's a manual release. And the chief engineer is like, "I've never heard of such a thing!" And someone else says, "That's because nobody thought to write it in."
So Spock is making jokes about someone who suffers a fatal transporter accident. Glad to see the people writing Star Trek these days have a firm grasp on the characters.
