I'm so glad you posted this. I'm a newly certified teacher and a lot of my teachers don't write out classes or plan out sequences till they arrive in class and I was starting to feel like I wasn't good enough if I had to plan in advance. But seeing a great teacher like you put this much work into the practice is so inspiring and relieving

Keep writing out your classes even if you don’t stick to them in your actual class ❤️ I have been teaching for 5 years and still write out every class in my “special book”. I use stick men 🤩. I often change what I am teaching but always plan ❤️❤️

I am a grateful student enjoying practicing yoga with your videos. Your voice is soothing and engaging. I listened to the end as the time passed so quickly. If/when you have a podcast I would watch and listen, not just listen, because your facial expressions are so engaging there would be no choice in the matter.

This was not boring at all, it was inspiring and raw! Authenticity is a wonderful thing and I think these kinds of videos where we, the audience, get to see the other sides to this, not just the aesthetically pleasing and well put yoga classes but also the effort that goes into creating them, I think it makes it that much more valuable! Hope you enjoyed that sandwich (it was 3 years ago but nonetheless eheh) ❤️ love from Portugal!

I am not a (yoga) teacher, but an IT trainer. And really everybody underestimates, how exhausting a day of teaching is.
During an 8 hour class with 12 students you always have to be focused, understand the students problems and think of good answers quickly. And breaks are never for yourself, because there will always be at least one student that has this one specific question to ask. Trainers need bathroom breaks too, people 😅😂
Thank you Kassandra for taking us on your day. It was really interesting 😊
And I absolutely hear you when you describe how exhausting it is. Especially when you don't have any students you can "bounce the energy off of".

I love your yoga videos and your audio is perfection! Since I make art tutorials I figured I had better learn what you are using for sound recording. I've gotten tangled up in my long cord lav mic more than once! I figured one of those remote clip on things you use could solve that. WOW! $800! guess I need to pony up for some better equipment. I know my audience will appreciate it! THANK YOU SO MUCH for all you do. I've been practicing yoga for 36 years and I really appreciate not having to always figure out what I'm going to do each morning. I turn on your videos and it gets me started and I might add in some stuff but I love practicing withy you. Namaste!

Kassandra you demonstrate such beauty, discipline and presence in all your videos. No wonder you are buggered (Australian term for exhausted) after filming! It's huge and you are putting out so much care and love in your videos. It really comes across. I'm a yoga practitioner for almost 30 years now (and trained as a teacher a few years ago) and have never watched yoga videos before you. I've always been a traditionalist in this way - teacher/student in the room, listening deeply, correcting, etc. You have changed me! I think you are such a gift to yoga and I'm so enjoying practising with you. I have a coaching business and watching your 'behind the scenes' video was awesome as we make short videos for our clients. It was so helpful seeing all your gear. Thank you again. Request? Ok..more minimal cues with longer holds (more breaths to sink into each pose) would be great. That said, I'm so grateful for what you do in a shorter time-frame which is why I'm practising everyday with you! Also, more gratitude practices - I love those mindful cues during the asanas - so beautiful. I reckon your karma is brimming with goodness:)

Thank you so much Kassandra, this was really interesting (not boring at all!) and also inspirational! Inspired by my two favorite online teachers (you, and Yoga with Adriene) I have started a UA-cam yoga channel this month after getting certified at the 200hr level :) (it’s not this channel I’m posting from, it’s called Asana Meditations). Although I’m not really teaching in the videos, as I’m only uploading Minimal Cues videos at the intermediate level (Vinyasa, Astanga & Yin) it’s still so exhausting for me to film just two classes in one day! And then the edition and thumbnail and audio etc. which takes me days of work. Can’t imagine how you do it! However it is so exciting and fun and makes me feel so alive

Kassandra, you killed-it...like always. I had the pleasure of viewing your set-up video (self-filming) and am in awe about how succinct and smooth your process is. You mentioned using a 12mm lens? That's a prime, correct? I am using a Sony ZV-E10 and will have to do the E-lens conversions. My biggest challenge is shooting in a very tight space. May I ask, what is your distance from the camera? I am trying to NOT look tiny as I purchase a wider angle lens, to capture a full-body, standing exercise demo series. Thanks!

Awesome video Kassandra, thank you so much!! And yes for more videos like this)) I am starting online YTT with Brett Larkin in January, soooo excited! So am interested in anything teaching related, especially as your classes are some of my very favourites and I am very interested in your perspective. I have tonnes of ideas for video topics - e.g. balancing personal practice and teaching, your views on the philosophical aspects and teachings of yoga, remaining inspired as a UA-cam teacher without direct face-to-face communication with students, maybe mistakes you made at the start that other should be weary of... I watched your other videos on teaching, I find them all super informative, thank you for sharing all of the info! xxx

Although I didn't expect this video, I admit I was one of the curious ones... Can I ask why did you stop filming at your own place? Too much time spend setting the place up, perhaps? BTW, thanks for all the hassle you go through to make these classes available to us... much love from brazil!

    Thank you Kassandra sharing this.
It is pretty cool to see your process of making your yoga videos.
I would love to see a video with your lighting set up.🤗
You said you use 2 mics. Did you mean one mic with 2 parts - transmitter and receiver?

Could you also show how you edit a short yoga video? Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Kassandra, awesome video to see "the other side". I know it has been there for a while but i just bumped into it, thanks to Sussan Reiker i think...anyways, if you can do some other videos dedicated to teachers, like sequencing, or keeping motivation, handling challenges like low show courses, etc, that would be awesome!
    Namaste!

Usually twice a month but it varies depending on upcoming projects! My weekly schedule is... ever-changing! Might make a video that later.

Thank you so much for this. You have no idea how much this has helped me. I can definitely relate to some of the difficulties that arise during filming. Which video editor do you like best?

Interesting! I've often wondered how you do all this, I had imagined it must be quite a bit of work behind the scenes and I wasn't mistaken, apparently! Great work

Thank you for sharing this video, it’s been helpful for me to plan for my students classes during lockdown. Can I ask you how you get around the 29 minute recording limit on DSLR cameras? I am not very technical and would love to hear it explained 😍😍
