Have you made a video on the specific details for camera and mic set up? I got all of the same equipment as you but not sure how to connect it all and have it stable on the tripod! Thank you for any help you can offer!! This video has been a staple for me as I begin hosting classes on UA-cam ❤🙏🏼
Hi! Thank you so much! I’ve had a channel for 7 years but have yet to get traction with some life interruptions that stalled me. I’m trying to rebuild. My technology needs an upgrade. Do you have a MacBook Air or Pro? I have everything else except an external hard drive and the small mic. I have the Rode duo set but they are boxy and I want the little clip on attachment.
Both Mac and pc have free options (iMovie and movie maker). There are also online tools like davinci revolve and cap cut. I’d start with the free tools first. They have everything you need to get started. I only upgraded when I wanted more control over colour grading and titles.
i notice that after 30 seconds 80% of my audience drops off. do you have any tips on how to maintain the audience? basically it is people clicking on the video and watching 30 seconds intro and then as soon as i start teaching the class - they click out of the video. so odd. my thumbnails and the title are very accurate and descriptive, so im just perplexed why someone would click it if they are not going to do it/watch it? only 3% of people watch to the end. which on my 16K views video means 480 people which is ok i guess. but the ones with 1-2K views i would like more ppl to keep watching. what am i doing wrong??
I actually wouldn't worry too much about those stats and instead focus on which topics and classes are the most popular and create more of them. I never look at retention and only clicked through on mine because of your comment. I have between 50-60% still watching at 30 sec and on my popular videos about 30% still there at the end. I clicked through and watched a couple of yours. My only advice would be to have a clear plan of what you need to say at the start and don't say anything extra. Try to let your personality shine in the first 30 seconds and keep the pace moving because that's when new people are deciding "is this my kind of yoga teacher and do I want to do this class". I think it's pretty normal for them to be clicking off in the first 30 seconds. It doesn't mean that you're doing anything wrong, it just means you aren't the teacher for them. I hope that helps!

I use the MacBook Pro. Rode mics are great!
