Hi Polo, thank you so much for playing my request. I thought you might like the video as well as the song, as it's a bit quirky. The two ladies in the video are Siobhan Fahey (ex-singer from the girl group Bananarama) and Marcella Detroit. Siobhan is Irish and Marcella is American. This Song was released in 1992.
Apparently, Siobhan Fahey (the lady who comes on later in the video) drank a bottle of Vodka whilst waiting to come on and sing her part. I guess that partly explains her "manic" expressions! Loved your reaction, thumbs up from me and thanks again.

The freaky deaky early 90s. Honestly, female singers had some bangers back in the day.

Well back then females (and males) had talent and there was an industry, though it was waning considerably by 1992, now it's just a black hole and cesspit of shite for pointless slaves to the mass-produced garbage spewing out of corporate factories instead of where talent should come from.

"Common People" from Pulp is another 90's gem that many people in the States may not be familiar with. Definitely worth a reaction. I highly recommend the full length album version and not the shortened, censored, music video... though the video is definitely cheesy.

No, they had loads of good and great ones from their debut album BEFORE 'Stay' and the follow-ups were done. 'Goodbye Cruel World' the ignored 1st single from album 2 is especially good. 'Hello' is simply another class one and there was more to come, on the album, as B-sides and ongoing albums, even though Marcella "had to leave", though they are now back together finally.

This is such a beautiful song, and a surprise for everyone who sees the video for the first time, when death comes in. It has that 90's cheese layer that doesn't diminish the beauty or the power of the music, and everything combined makes for a music video that is hard to forget.

Oh this was fun. I loved that you paused it (unknowingly) just before the serious weirdness kicks in and said, "Well, the video's kind of weird" and I was laughing, thinking, "Oh, just wait..." LOL! Say, if you ever want to hear a bright, beautiful 80s hit that's kind of a One Hit Wonder, check out Steve Forbert "Romeo's Tune." The piano is gorgeous, his voice is kind of weird and smokey, and it's my favorite song of all time (Well, tied with Manfred Mann's "For You."

Great reaction Polo!! I LOVED this song when it came out (and 1992 was the year, so good call! Yes - cheese was ALL over the videos - and we ate it all up!) Rounding the circle, Siabhan (Death) was married to Dave Stewart, who was part of the Pop Duo The Tourists, who became The Eurythmics. Annie Lenox (who you have Reacted to) was the other half of the Duo with Dave.

Siobhan Fahey (don't make me swear I'm spelling her name right) was definitely eccentric. This is the only song featuring (can't remember her first name) Detroit as lead singer. It's written from the perspective of a man anxious about his partner giving birth. It's powerful storytelling, much like all of her stuff. Also do "Wuthering Heights". Also, "Running Up That Hill". My take on Shakespears sister= Marcella the first vocalist has an amazing voice and unusual clear as a bell tone. Siobhan the second vocalist, was ex bananarama and has a lower, less unique sound to her voice, and does not really sing but talks her way through. But Siobhan always had some sort of weird intangeable star quality. I was always intigued by her when she performed in early Bananarama and Shakespears sister. Its not always about having a brillant singing voice. Just ask Kylie and Jennifer Lopez!
