Rod Bramblett, who made this immortal call, was killed in a car accident this weekend, along with his wife. 😢 You were right. He was too awesome for words. Sincerest condolences to the Bramblett family for their devastating loss.😥
His phrase "Holy Cow" was the subject of a telephone interview on Fox and Friends ". Plus this was on every morning show and all the nightly news outlets.
Everything about this clip is amazing. From the almost doubtful setup, "I guess if this thing falls short he can field it." To the point where announcer calls out each point from 10 to 5 yard increments. The Look on Saban's face as he ran on the field, mixed with the fact that you couldn't see Macarron's face as he ran off. The joyous Auburn players tearing up. The Shocked Alabama fan's in disbelief. For a clip that's only 2:50 minutes long, it had a full story played out in that short period of time. I can watch this over and over again and never get tired of it. War Eagle!

I’m a devout SOONER fan but I tell ya, this is one of the greatest endings to a football game I’ve ever seen!! An unforgettable play!! The announcer was just incredible and had me standing on my feet!
Bro I used to work as a valet and me and my homie would play Chargers games on the radio at our valet station while we weren’t doing anything. The Chargers radio caller is pretty into the team and the game all the time and is super entertaining. It’s honestly more exciting in some ways not being able to see, imagine this scenario for example, you’re just hoping for a miss and when he says no good you think the play is over, all of a sudden you hear “he’s gonna take it out, 15, 20, 25,30….” it’s so exciting routing for a team with a homie over the radio but the announcer has to be entertaining for sure
You don't know what this game meant to college football here in the states. Bama (opposing team) has won two straight national titles (and 3 of the last 4). They had a dynasty. Bama came in undefeated again. If they beat Auburn, they go on to 3 straight (which has never been done). AU wins on this amazing play which is one of the greatest single plays in history. To make it better, AU and Bama are arch rivals in the same state and utterly hate each other (like people get killed).
John Smith Agreed with everything, except two consecutive titles, one of them not a SEC Champion and BOTH backed their way in after losing in November, is NOT a dynasty. And the 2010 National Champions separates 2009 from any connection. They had a "run." That's it. And it's over.
John Smith Believe it or not I do. And I also know how rare it was for a game to end like that. Beating your rivals with 1 seconds left when it looks like they are going to pull out a win gives you a feeling you'll remember for the rest of your life. Chris Davis is now entitled to make love to any auburn girl in the state of Alabama! Hero.
i was at my grandma's house that night and we were both watching the game. neither of us are fans of both schools but we watched cause we love cfb. this was the greatest play i've ever witnessed live. we were both jumping up and down. still gives me goosebumps everytime i watch this, "auburn's gonna win the football game!" is forever imprinted in my mind

The Difference is, Verne Lundquist is FAMOUS for being short, sweet, to the point, and Not biased...As AMAZING as this call is, on youtube, there is a video of both this call, and the Alabama Radio call....when you have a personal emotion or stake in the game, your reaction will deff be More, MUCH more, than any neutral TV announcers...
G Klash Stfu seriously Verne Lundquist is excellent and is broadcasting to a national audience. Bramlett is/was the voice of Auburn athletics. It’s Rod’s job to act like a homer. Verne has called Super Bowls Masters and he’s on national TV not local radio

War Eagle ~ I'm a Auburn fan for life and this game just blew me away ~ War Eagle :)
Still The Greatest Moment.....N College Football History.....n That's All I Got.....
It's been 10 years and I've watched it hundreds of times. It will never get old !
Much better reaction than the TV announcers
Never gets old! Can watch this over and over!
As a D3 announcer, I’ve dreamt of having a call with half the significance of this. RIP Rod. I remember mimicking him in high school because of how epic it was
It just never gets old. WDE!!
RIP... Not even an Auburn fan but this call always gave me chills. Such a huge sports moment in the past decade and the call is just so perfect for the moment. So rarely does a sports call live up to the moment but this one does.
“And he’ll run it out to the *10, 15, 20, 25 30, 35 40, 45 50, 45!* CHILLS BRO ‼️💯
I think I can watch these clips every day and get as excited as these (RADIO) ANNOUNCERS. In fact I will watch them for the next 365 days if I can. The video clips on fan's reactions are just as much fun as anything today on TV! Thank you guys!!!
One of the greatest calls ever
I'm a USC TROJANS fan and I can watch this over and over. The announcers made this moment even more iconic. I remember when it first happened. I had no dog in this fight but for that moment I was an Auburn fan lol.
“AUBURN’S GONNA WIN THE FOOTBALL GAME!”
Probably one of the greatest calls by an announcer in sports history
