A couple of notes from a Jin main, he has two plus frame strings he can access zen with, bf2,3(mid, mid +2, counter hit launcher) and 3,1(high, high +4), df1 on most characters will trade with zen~u1 and zen~3 out of his 3,1 string and lose to throw, zen~1 and maybe zen~2. Out of his bf2,3 string zen~u1 will beat df1 because he's +4 meaning zen~u1 will come out 1 frame faster than df1, but outside of that df1 should beat all his other options except maybe zen~2. In general the safest option is to side step left duck, because the only option that will beat this is zen~3 (most Jin players below blue ranks won't use this on purpose), and if he cancels into crouch dash(most Jins won't use this either). Also his df1,4 is delayable so fuzzy ducking won't always work. (Slight addendum, zen~u1 out of his 3,1 string isn't side steppable to his left if they do it at immediate timing, it'll clip you but in any other situation on block its side steppable to both sides.)

5:00 another good option for kaz is just power crushing through it, its gonna beat everything expect zen cancel and grab (which is not a good option so you will rarely see it)
One thing to watch out for is EWGF (+5 on block, duckable) into back sway (b3+4) this can act like Feng’s back kenpo and creates a whole bunch of space for Jin in neutral. If you swing into that space and the Jin reacts with another EWGF you’re eating 60%.
great video but one thing you forgot to mention is that the 4 in df1,4 can be delayed. you can still fuzzy it but you have to be extra sharp on your reaction skills
2:30 it is worth noting that generic df1 (if you character has it) beats not only all moves from zen stance transition from moves and Zenshin (f+3+4) but also Jin player staying in neutral (Jin cannot guard after such transitions despite having frame advantage in frame data in some cases). However, Jin can cancel his zen stance either from Zanshin (b+3+4) by pressing forward or from breaking step by pressing ub into guard (which is super difficult, but can make this transition safe even from jabs).
Jin's 1,3,4, once you get used to reacting to it (much easier said than done imho), is a very comfy punish as you can kind of QCF from back, to down back, to down forward, to block the high, then the first low then low parry the third hit in a smooth motion that is very easy to muscle memory and doesn't leave you over-committed if the Jin omits the 4 input - and as Kaz, if the Jin attempts to 1,3 into launching you for waiting for the 4, you can often catch him with a twin pistons (wr1,2) before he manages to hit you.
By all means, this video is fine and keeping things simple helps a lot for grasping ideas. But there's just more nuance here than it seems. Another comment mentions the other zen transitions that give different frames on block. Not to mention if the Jin uses F-Zen with crouch dash pressure it actually does look like hell sweep at first. Most Jins aren't doing that yet though to be fair.
Jin main here with some additions (not corrections) concerning how Jins who like to play safer/smarter will differ from this safe Jins will not generally perfom Zen transition from f+4, since CH f+4 no Zen pickup is now easy. pressing in response to a blocked f+4 is liable to be whiff punished by these players, so pay attention to which kind of Jin player you're dealing with. if they play f+4>Zen, play block into df+1. if not, treat f+4 like any other safe CH launching poke the real Zen transition to watch out for is 1,4>Zen, which he'll generally use as a 10 frame punish. this is plus enough on hit that nothing will beat Zen 3 other than mid power crushes, and perhaps some extremely evasive moves. get caught pressing anything else and you'll eat knockdown damage into extremely unfavorable okizeme. in general this is more or less true for any situation where Jin scores a hit into Zen transition, so my general advice would be to power crush Jin when he's in Zen rather than using df+1, if you happen to have a power crush that's a mid regarding CD - beware Jin's df+33 / ws1,33. these common oki tools transition into CD at extreme plusframes, setting up for CD3 or CD1. they're also commonly used without CD transition to set up f+4. again, you'll get knocked down or possibly launched for contesting this with anything other than power crush. best way to avoid this scenario is to not get up from grounded immediately unless you're expecting ETU spam. in general the optimal grounded strat against Jin is to roll but stay down, then get up manually. this will avoid most of his nastiest oki options, including divekick and non-delayed ETU those are the main additions I could think of hopefully someone finds them useful
Forgot to mention 31 into zen stance is +4 so his grab beats jabs, as a Jin I try to condition players to duck then I will go with his mid and is they duck 31 I will go with bf23 into zen
you should mention that blocking a jin d2 for its -14 on block isnt as rewarding as you stated for most char. kazuya with his 13f ws twin piston launcher is very unique in that case, most other chars cant launch you on 14frames out of crouch and will only deal around 30dmg max since the "limit" of whats reactable is 20f you can invest the time to train and react to it, but you gotta be locked in to do so, its not sth like blocking a snake edge on reaction where u r on autopilot
So I'm the Jin main here and I have a question for you What if Jin zen cancel? What if he puts you on -frames then go for those moves you mentioned? Yes you can beat him with df2 on zen but it's just a poke and Jin can use UF2 or another B3+4 to go into zen again
most jins dont zen cancel, and even more jins dont zen cancel properly, because of this reason is why I never mentioned zen canceling, as its more of a 50/50 on if jin will press or not. I go over why you need to be careful using df2 against jin for the exact reasons you mentioned. theres only a few instances that jin can go into zen where the opposing player is negative, so it shouldnt be too big of a problem. and finally Zen cancelling is only effective in neutral or advantage when you have applied enough mental stack on your opponent, the jin cant zen cancel if you are either far enough to sidestep/whiff punish, or close enough to just mid check him out of it.
I think the thing I hate the most about T8 Jin is the sound he makes whenever he uses a "devil gene" move. If he gets the upper hand the match just turns into "HOAAAH" "BHUAAAAHG" "HUAAAAH" and I can't stand it!
Karin’s theme is PEAK. Hoping for her to show up in SF6, and honestly a thought I’ve always had is that her kit would translate really well into a Tekken system as well Make Karin a Mishima, just make her command dash + tenko a crouch dash + electric haha. She even has a just frame on her tenko in SFV, even though it’s bufferable. Giving her orochi out of crouch dash also sounds pretty fucked up, a fast evasive shoulder out of crouch dash mix seems super degenerate lmao.
hey im glad you liked the music taste!!! I might start using more than just tekken tracks in my videos because some of these older street fighter themes are absolutely AMAZING, thanks for the comment!!
Thats for low ranks thought right? Because with the jin waits half a second after stance and you press anything you will get lauched or at leats power crushed
Depends on what you consider low rank honestly! the zen guide was meant to cover zen stance on block, the only other time I really see jins use ZEN stance is ZEN 3+4 in neutral for the frames, but its a high and pretty linear. anytime you DF1 the powercrush you can duck it too, but if you suspect it in neutral again you can just duck it. that mixed with learning to react to D2 and Hellsweep will get you a pretty long way! I have who is Tekken God and is fighting Jins at Tekken emperor that are getting completely snuffed out by challenging ZEN stance with a DF1, People still do all of these things expecting people not to know it even up there!
1:03 this is a bad choice of words and incorrect representation of breaking step nuances. especially from defender's perspective since it doesn't affect startup/ frames of the moves available in breaking step (only EWHF gets better frames on block, hit and recovery frames). And you don't "transfer into electric" or "mash it" in breaking step, you get easier input methods: breaking step gives you a crouch dash and all you have to press is df+2 (df can even be held after the breaking step). So you don't get perfect inputs, you just get electric versions of moves with different, easier inputs. And these are not "perfect electrics", people get confused because there is a Perfect Electric Wind God Fist variation, but it is not comparable since PEWGF is about two frame-perfect inputs (catching the first frame after animation end and inputing f for a single frame, staying neutral for a single frame, and df+2 pressed in a single frame) giving you a 13-frame punisher/follow-up launcher, and EWHF from breaking step comes after a stance transition, which makes it slower overall. I'm not here to complain and pick on you, I appreciate any guide and work put into them. Just trying to provide constructive feedback. And I'm here for the next part of the video 😄
as a JIn main it is hard to not use D2 because of just fishing for that CH combo which the one I use does like 70ish damage and ive gotten blown up because of it................but i cant stop the sweet sweet CH
If kazuyas 1,1 can be used instead of a df1 so long as the high isn't getting crushed, theoretically could I used kings giant swing and skip the whole having to duck after the mid check?
Ok, but this isn't really what makes him OP, it's how safe and how much better some of his tools are. His heat smash, uf2, 1,2,3 d2 flowchat and his 2,1,4 (delayable or not) are super dumb online (I can deal with 1,2,3 d2 now, but I've seen online Jins getting some pretty high rank only doing 1,2,3 d2, 2,1,4 and heat burst / heat smash).

Make Karin a Mishima, just make her command dash + tenko a crouch dash + electric haha. She even has a just frame on her tenko in SFV, even though it’s bufferable. Giving her orochi out of crouch dash also sounds pretty fucked up, a fast evasive shoulder out of crouch dash mix seems super degenerate lmao.
I actually prefer her Alpha 3 theme. Give it a listen, you might feel the same
hey im glad you liked the music taste!!!
6:25 yoshi flash?
as a JIn main it is hard to not use D2 because of just fishing for that CH combo which the one I use does like 70ish damage and ive gotten blown up because of it................but i cant stop the sweet sweet CH
dang it i just started playing jin two weeks ago lol
When that one Jin hits ewgf without the stance constantly lmao😢 (im playing/learning kaz)
7:50 Punt Them Into The Stratosphere😂😂
Literally LMAO, hope the video helped!!
If kazuyas 1,1 can be used instead of a df1 so long as the high isn't getting crushed, theoretically could I used kings giant swing and skip the whole having to duck after the mid check?
@dumithegreat3892 I see, I see. Thanks for the heads up man I'll take it to mind
I main Jin since Tekken 3😂 so not scared loting to other Jin players with their flowchart😂
Need the same against law
Make one for lars and lily
Bruh, you forget? I’m a Jin main. I thought you were my guy!!!!…..😂😂😂😂
Hey this video has helped jin mains too! Use this video as a way to better your gameplan and apply new strategies to your approach options! not relying extensively on the things I mention in the video as a jin player will absolutely make you a better player too guaranteed!:)
well now you know what to abuse to piss people off
@@latteARCH lol 💀💀💀
Now make a video how to beat dragunov
Kazuya has 1+2, 12 fr mid. Its unsafe, though
I hate jin down 1 , so chip annoyed move ,also hard reacting to punishment.
bro just said react (i'm half joking)
>Anti-Jin guide
>SSR never mentioned
lol
not just any jin guide, this is the "beginners guide" to jin! most people dont understand sidestepping still, and this is the easiest way to shut jins down without having to learn a whole new skill!
How to beat 90% of Jin players: Get good with someone like Zafina or Bears and ruin their day.
My jin main ass watching this to adapt and become unpredictable 😈😈😈
Jin gang we up, we on top fr fr 💯💯💯
Hell yea brother
Only reason I'm watching 😂
hey in whatever way this video helps you im about! good luck learning jin!
Need an anti king video… everyone else I’m ok loosing to, king for some reason is so annoying
Kazuya df4 should work
I remember trying out DF4, but the recovery frames were too bad since its a delayable string, and it didnt work in any of the testing I did
They need to bring back deathmatches so we can download your opponent yiu cant learn anything when you get hit with the most cheapest shit and then try to rematch and tgey just 1 and done
most annoying shit ever
especially when u look at their profile and they have 40 defense
yeah, biggest struggle with learning tekken for me is not being able to get in enough games against certain characters. I'll fight an Alisa player, then not see another one for several weeks and forget everything.
@@artistmaterial09 how is it even possible to fight 1 alisa for weeks in this game? you must have incredible bad luck.. or should i say, good luck xD, ranks in my country are infested with alisas left and rihgt
Anti Reina vid??😅
Only move that’s hard to deal with is D2
But kazuya has db 3 why not use that that is 13 frames
I guess you mean db+1, and it is fine for most cases but doesn't recover fast enough to beat Zen 2.
As a Jin/kazuya main I find it VERY HARD to pull air combos but my basic tekken instinct is VERY GOOD I’ve been playing since tekken 5 hours been put into it so it’s very easy to tell where to block or punish just by looking at how your character is moving
animations can be deceiving though. just something to keep in mind
Nah
99% still not gonna handle his neutral pressure
Crouch dash isn't a stance u confuse pepole with that and make it more Complicated then it needs to be
yes it is, crouch dash is considered a stance in game, and you gain access to new moves by inputting a certain command, thus making it a stance
Jin players just spam dive kick and down ,2
Jin mains are in here laughing...
why the hate on my boy he's the best character ever
He’s like the equivalent of scorpion in MK, popular protagonist character that a lot of people tend to play. It’s good to know how to deal with him
no hate at all! the character is def good and is super common, just gotta let people know how to get around some of the fake pressure!
I hate him. He thinks he the best(which he is). Screw you Jin.
He’s very annoying to fight and that’s coming from someone who plays as him
I don’t hate his kit I just think Jin as a character is corny as fuck lmao. Imagine being so insecure that you start WWIII 💀
Stop hating Jin >:(
I dont I promise!! hes just too common to NOT make a video on haha
0:48 no theyre not, b3+4 is 5 frames startup while f3+4 is 10, it is also more evasive and can be cancelled into a forward dash by pressing forward
