IMHO its cuz he's hard to play with no easy tools to fall back on. His best tools all require just frames. Whiff punishment? Electric. Keepouy tool? Electric. Strong mid mix? iWS+2 from wavu. Poking? Lol nice joke. Df+1 on block? Lose turn. 1,1,2 hit? No good oki Just give him a bettter df+1, a somewhat tracking df+2, more range demon paw, 1,1,2 oki like Kazuya, and that'd fix all my gripes. I dont need a toptier D.Jin, just one where I dont need to break my fingers just to do basic stuff

Tekken Ghost AI can't copy that kind of player since (probably) the program was designed for human playstyle with human patterns and errors, etc... And the "players" in this video are just literal bots, so yeah, impossible to get data on player behavior on hit or such Good vid!

What is funny is that I have an easier time defeating Drag, Nina, and Yoshi than I do Devil Jin. He has my number, lol.

His only scary threat is the hell sweep, otherwise you just have to standing block everything. I never thought kaz would be better but here we are. Those nerfs really hurt dvj

As long as he has a hellsweep launcher, projectiles and can fly, he is not the worst character

as a JIn main it is hard to not use D2 because of just fishing for that CH combo which the one I use does like 70ish damage and ive gotten blown up because of it................but i cant stop the sweet sweet CH

Great video as always Averyx! I appreciate the reminder that staying confident and opportunistic goes a long way because oh boy I can admit to being someone that gets discouraged after making a few bad decisions. Nice to know that even in ranks higher than I'm at people tend to struggle with some things that I might go back on and think "how the hell did I make this mistake here" or "why did I not launch this" and so on lol. Anyways good luck with your grind to blue ranks. I'd love to see you share your experience. I'm not too far away from hitting that purple myself and I'll definitely be ready to keep learning when I get there. Best of luck with college aswell!

Your videos are chef kiss! Not too overwhelming yet still very effective

I recently got out of purple and into blue ranks, one of the training methods I did can also fall under the "Punish Negative moves category" as a subset category. I practiced my launch combos when I blocked a negative move (assuming it's the generic -15 or more). I did this in training mode just to get into my head and the muscle memory to instinctive launch punish and proceed with said combo. Cause before I would know a move is launch punishable, but would not do the combo I am supposed to do or would drop it in the moment. I picked whatever character that had a launch punisheable move (ie: Hwoarang Back 3 -19). Practicing different launch combos helped me breeze through Flame Ruler and even got me a winning streak.

I think the skills that get players into purple ranks, can be used to propel someone all the way to Tekken King. It's just how consistent they are

So hard to convince people that blocking and punishing kazuyas hellsweep is better than parrying it smh.

Devil Jin is not bad I tabbed emperor and had so many issues with this character

beating DF2 has a very specific timing so please be careful when stepping right against it.

1:20 Eddy won't launch this because his i13 ws punish is a high mid and Dragunov stays crouching. Meaning the first hit will whiff on him.

Absolutely great video I know realise just how big the nerfs hit Dragunov almost all his “pressure” that used to actually be super scary and kind of broken at times now has clear counter play and ways of beating it almost all of it is just fake pressure I have a question for Dragunov players out there just out of curiosity I didn’t have to deal with Dragunov prepatch since I was still playing tekken 7 at that time but was all of that bullshit plus on block XD that sounds so dumb if that’s true idk how that was a character in the game considered totally normal and balanced

Can you do Kazuya? He's so cheap in my opinion it's insane. Has moves that look minus which are either unpunishable or even + on block.

One thing to watch out for is EWGF (+5 on block, duckable) into back sway (b3+4) this can act like Feng’s back kenpo and creates a whole bunch of space for Jin in neutral. If you swing into that space and the Jin reacts with another EWGF you’re eating 60%.

1:15 eddy's i13 ws launcher (ws1,3) is a high, mid string. It cant punish drag d2 cuz it recovers crouching

DB3+4 was -15 but people didn't punish it because nobody reacted to it on block.

Loving this series. Your Jin video revived my love for this game, characters feel beatable now. subbed
