Eric Martin is a criminally underrated vocalist. This band was actually a "supergroup" comprised of already-highly-accomplished musicians. They were most known for being heavy metal/hard rock/glam metal, but are most widely known for this ballad. Sadly, like a handful of other great rock bands from the era, they wouldn't get the recognition they deserved, since this album came out in 1991, a year when rock music was making a sea change in a different direction toward "grunge" and the wider idea of "alternative" rock. The (ironically) Seattle band "Queensryche" was another band that I believe would have been much more popular had they not come out in the midst of the grunge/alternative revolution. I don't mean to imply that I didn't love the emerging new sound as well, it's just that some bands kind of got lost in that revolution though they deserved greater success.
Could not agree more 🤘🏻🤘🏻about Eric Martin. He's just incredible
Seen him live a couple of years ago doing an acoustic set in a small bar... What a voice xxx
I agree, for the most part, although when it comes to Queensryche, their first few albums in the early-to-mid 80s were fantastic and they were one of my favorite bands back then - not so much after Silent Lucidity and beyond (especially without Geoff Tate at the helm)! Specifically, if you haven't seen nor heard stuff from "The Warning" and "Rage for Order", you should definitely check them - especially the live performance video of a song called "Take Hold of the Flame" from Japan in 1984. You're welcome ;-)
Appreciate your informative comment. Always nice when people go out of their way to do this. Cheers!
I totally agree
Eric Martin, the lead vocalist of Mr.Big actually wrote this as a teenager before he was in the band. He was completely enamored with a close friend, Patricia Reynolds, but he was totally friend zoned by her and never got to be with her.
Aw, bless him. How sad 😢
I heard Paul gilbert wrote this song
Memories of bands like Firehouse- Love Of A Lifetime, Slaughter- Fly To The Angel's, come to mind!
Yes! I love those late 80's early 90's rock ballads. We got "Patience" from GNR. Slaughter and Cinderella. Iconic
Yessssss
Firehouse 🔥🔥🔥
If you haven't yet you should check out "more than words" from extreme
Eric Martin is the singer. You definitely know that voice when you hear it. Raspy and crunchy but smooth at the same time. I always hated those cheesy 80s power ballads, but they came up with a winner. Simple and sweet. Sometimes that's all a girl needs to fall in love!
Actually this song was released in 1992
Man this brings it back when music was great. Awesome reaction
Eric Martin used to come down to a local club my band used to play in San Rafael, CA he was so cool everybody in the Bay Area knew he would be BIG time some day.... pun intended..... #MrBigForever yep and Amen.
The band Exteme “More than words.” I think y’all will love it as well- 💗💙👍✌️
You would be surprised of the sheer talent from this band. They had an amazing lineup. Paul Gilbert. Check out Addicted to that Rush live
Paul Gilbert is beyond amazing.
@@njineermike and Billy (bad ass) Shennon!!! 🤘
Pat Torpey was an amazing drummer. It’s a shame he passed away. May he Rest In Peace.
You cannot hear this song without appreciating the amazing vocal talent in it! Love this song!
Just take my heart is an awesome power ballad !!!
Nice nostalgia selection! It was just weird when this was such a monster hit because the average listener would NEVER have any idea that the bass player & guitarist were among the best in the world. :D
Mr. Big's version of wild world is really good too.
Nothing but love for this song 🎶🎵
Once two of my male friends got their guitars and sung this song to me. It was years ago but it's a memory I'll always treasure.
I remember when this was on MTV videos.
This group is very BIG in Asia, specially in Japan and Indonesia
I love his voice and this song 💘
This is the only song of his ever heard before.
These guys are incredibly talented. This song was the big MTV hit that every rock band of that era seemed to have. But this doesn't even begin to display their talents. One of my favs that is a lot of fun from these guys is Alive and Kickin'.
Brilliant brilliant song. Hugely under played 👏👌
Played this a lot during my senior year in college back in 1991-92.
One of the best gigs I ever attended. Fantastic band!
I love this song. Simple lyrics and a positive message.
These dudes are very underrated. Eric has an amazing voice.
Great Reaction.I Absolutely love this song. 😀👍❤️✌️🌼
Love 💖
GOOD…NESS! 😍🥰Just flashed me back to my late teens early 20’s!! BEAUTIFUL!!
Yes, Mr. big. I was a huge fan of theirs in the 90s. So underrated, so talented musicians. They were BIG in japan. Unfortunately, the drummer, Pat Torpey, died a few years ago.
For more songs check out: addicted to that rush, had enough, 30 days in the hole, alive and kickin, road to ruin, livin Like a dog
Mr Big- "Green Eyed Sixties Mind" is a good song from them. In concert in Japan 1991 was a great video of them in concert.
“Green tinted sixties mind”
Just Take My Heart, Green Tinted Sixties Mind, and Wild World (Cat Stevens cover). Eric Martin (singer, underrated). Went on to sing solo cover albums, mostly well known ballads. Awesome reaction guys.
I love this song, brings back memories of summer’s long gone
Love this song ☺
YAY!!!!!! 🔥🔥💜💜🥰🥰 now do Green Tinted Sixties Mind!!! It’s my theme song!!! 🥰🥰🔥🔥
Awesome song great band!
Love, love, love and love!
Funny thing - I just heard this song on the radio today - hoping that ANYBODY would react to it. One of my all time favourites - the song is absolutely infectious - with it's easygoing beat and melody. I think I can sing it by heart now. Thank you!!
I was between Nirvana, Dr. Dre, Beastie Boys in 1992 and then Mr.Big - To be with you...
Lovely song!!!
This could be a Shampoo commercial ! Lookit all that Hair !!
yep #BigHairBandClassic
GREAT GREAT SONG.❤❤❤❤
I talk to the bass player Billy Sheehan every once in a while. They're all super nice guys and talented beyond belief. Unfortunately, the drummer Pat Torpey passed away in 2018.
I really LOVE this song!!❤❤❤ Love the lead singer!!❤❤🔥🔥🔥 His voice is gorgeous!!
Glad you guys liked it, I can play this one over and over!!🥰🥰
Yes!!!! Thank u🥰❤😊
This was definitely one of the 1st songs every little boy wanting to play the guitar would learn. The reason being.. you gotta learn what the ladies like.
Now try “More than Words” by Extreme…my first boyfriend dedicated it to me on a local radio station. You’ll love it! ❤️
DITTO ! EXTREME-MORE THAN WORDS
💎💎💎💎💎
sweet and hello fellow saffan :p
Aaaah! From my teen years!!! It was a classic from day one! 👏🏻👏🏻
That song took me back to Eastern High School 🏫 in the 80's.
I've never seen a lady with such pure beauty as here. Amazing.
You guys definately need to check out "Slaughter- Fly to the angels" super unique vocals that will blow your mind!
Takes me back to 6th grade.
Love love this song 🎵 !!
This takes me back 💜
Never thought BIGGIE gonna react MR BIG ☺
He could sing this song to me anyday lol
We used their song road to ruin.. as part of our wedding. The guests had a giggle at this 😃
Enjoyed seeing your reaction to this oldie. I always associate this song with Tesla's "Love Song". Both were hair bands from the 80's, and both bands had singers with an incredible raspy delivery.
You need to hear "Just take my Heart."
Love of a lifetime- Firehouse. Love that song please do react to it!
One of my favorite bands!! Check out videos to Addicted to that Rush, Green Tinted Sixties Mind, Wild World, and Undertow!!
My jam!
One of mine and my husbands songs
Classic Song
Green Tinted Sixties Mind, is their favorite song. Mr Big was bigger in Japan but are a good to band ro listen to.
Do Mr. Big, "Addicted To That Rush".
This was recorded in 1990. Same year when Extreme recorded More than Words. No Internet then. Coincidence.
Both songs were released as singles 30 years ago! 🎂🎂
Great rock ballad in 1991! 🎂
Eric Martin fronted The Eric Martin Band in The Bay Area, where I am from, in the 1970s. 🌁
He broke up the band, moved to Los Angeles and formed the supergroup Mr Big in the 1980s.
Suggested next Mr Big song: Just Take My Heart. ❤
Your going to love this song my type of music 80s
Now that's classic
Mr. Big-"Take Cover" from the Live From The Living Room performance
…one of the best guitarists to come out of the 80s…Paul Gilbert…..take a listen to his band Racer X. My favourite album of Racer X is Street Lethal, and love the title cut. Speed Metal. Paul’s playing will blow you away.
80’s hair bands are my all time favorite genre!! Slaughter “Fly to the Angels” and Poison “Something to Believe in” are my top two faves of all time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Stryper “Honestly” and White Lion “When the Children Cry” are also AMAZING songs!
Mr. Big - Wild World
First time ever seeing this channel, and idk why, lol. This song is one of my top 10 ALL TIME FAVORITES! And I honestly think , not by you 2, I'm speaking worldly, is very underrated! Idk, anyways, I love a reaction channel that actually takes time to appreciate ALL TYPES OF MUSIC! And what a great start for my first time. I love all genres, noticed your Tupac pic, I think ik the bulk of his songs! And his last album, that was released, after his passing is amazing. I love that song, "BROKEN WINGS" BY TUPAC AND IT FEATURES ANOTHER SINGER AND I'M SORRY IDK KNOW HIS NAME! BUT, THAT WOULD BE A GREAT REACTION, MAY BE CALLED-UNTIL THE END OF TIME, LIKE THE ALBUM. CHECK IT OUT, PLZ! Look, I'm here on 1st day making a request, lol! I love reaction channels, but, only the ones that appreciate the music they are listening to! 80%of people who listen to about 5 songs a day, are less likely to be depressed and anxious. Just found that out. That was awesome, heard it 100 times and still so so great! Ty!
You deserve 100k subscribers.
Check out "Addicted To That Rush"...A rocker!!!!! Amazing!!!
Эрик Мартин -лучший вокалист в мире!
I have always loved this song but DH & I still laugh at the "waiting to be the next to be with you" as if there was a literal line for the young lady's "favor".
Omg....the memories. You have to do 'Love Song" by Tesla. Love these late 80s-90s songs!!
I look forward to your reactions. Eric Martins voice is amazing. Another song you would like by Mr. Big is - Just take my Heart. Please react to it .. pretty please :)
Try: "Just Take My Heart"
A great Mr. Big song.
Aww forgot about these guys...
They were in heavy MTV rotation when this came out.
Mr Big basically had that one hit but amazing voice. Another group you should hear is Extreme and the song is More than Words....excellent song
They have had many hits and many great songs.
A song from my early childhood
This one by them for Mel and Addicted To That Rush for Shawn.
❤️❤️🥰🥰❤️❤️
Try Mr. BIG. addicted to that rush...good song
Such a casual song sounds like it didn't take much effort
The lead singer is Eric Martin.
Eric Martin has such a kool voice.
Megabass!
Eric Martin the lead singer wrote the song in high school!
You should do Warrant, I saw red, the acoustic version
Eric Martin - he wrote the song when he was 16 or 17. This was Mr. Big's biggest hit. It's a perfect song. Eric Martin - Amazing voice.
Gotta do Green-tinted Sixties Mind, Addicted to That Rush, Daddy Brother Lover Little Boy!
He wrote it as a teenager, then turned it into a song.
Great reaction. Now you need to react to More Than Words by Extreme.
wild world is a pretty good rendition by mr big of a song by cat stevens.
Old jam!
RIP Pat Torpey
when i hear this, i hear a pick-up artist looking for a woman on the rebound =p big love to all people :)
songs like this are how bands like Guns N Roses and Nirvana were able to slam the door on 80s hair music..your listening to the final gasp
7th grade!!! 💕💕
