This is another group I grew up with in the 60's. Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons. They had so many great hits together & when Frankie went out on his own in the 70's, this song "My Eyes Adored You" was a big hit for him. Also he had a hit with the song "Grease" from the movie. Always loved that he was able to sing in a falsetto voice.
In jersey boys,Boys, did things that the Fourseasons did even do,and guy who supported to have been frankie couldn't even sing I can't give you anything but love exactly the way the song really goes
They are one of the reasons why I consider the music of the 60's. To be the greatest decade in Rock & Roll history. You can't go wrong going down the rabbit hole that is "The Four Seasons." Great reaction and summation.
Frankie has an incredible range, his falsetto is legendary. My faves are this one & Swearin To God. This man is in his 80s, still touring & still with the golden voice
Love you guys. If you have not seen it, I cannot recommend enough the movie “Jersey Boys” directed by Clint Eastwood. It would be well worth your time. The story behind this particular song is heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time.
@@unmalo2768 I do agree with that, and the songs are taken taken way too fast, like the conductor snorted coke before the recording session or something lol. But apparently Valli approved of the project. Most bios get usurped by the bigwigs and writers of Broadway and Hollywood, to make them more "updated and sellable" to a "modern" self centered public which is totally ridiculous. A little poetic license is one thing, but chronology and incorrect music tempos and incorrect instrumentation is another to me. Next thing you know history will be rewritten for a movie as if Elvis' backing band was the Beatles, with crew cuts, and Elvis looks strangely a lot like James Brown, and sings like Frankie Valli...in drag...hmmm...Note: Rag Doll is my favorite Four Seasons song of all. It just resonates with me.
@@thomastimlin1724 Actually, Valli hated the movie---did not even go to the premiere--said Eastwood lied to him about how the movie would be made and did not allow Bob Gaudio to approve the music---hence the poor orchestrations---he is very bitter about the whole experience
This song has great significance to me i have been married 44 years my husband played his guitar and he sang this to me before we took our vows right there at the alter it was a surprise to me there was not a dry eye in the church. I cried through the entire thing. i will never forget that ever. awesome reaction.
Oh my , One of favorite groups from back in the day! Thank you for reacting to the FS. They have many hits , hope y’all can react to Sherry , Ragdoll , Walk like a man , Oh what a night , My a eyes adored you , just to name a few
Thank you so much for you input on this all time classic song by Frankie Valli. Now what you heard here and viewed was a live performance by Valli at the Bitter End in 1967, with a recorded backing track. When you get a chance listen to the actual recorded version and it will blow you away even more, thank you.
Frankie Valley had such a crystal clear voice so beautiful - love this song. Also the one and only Lauren Hill also did a cover of this song in the 90s that was just…like warm honey running into your ears. Highly recommend you catch that one to if you haven’t already.
I would hear this song all my life and not really pay attention to it until one day at work in the mid 80s there was a radio above my head and this song came on and I just listened to the words and was mesmerized at the simplicity and loving beauty of this song. It is in my top 10 fav of love songs. I still sing this song to babes I meet.
Love Frankie........great reaction.......when I found out I was having my daughter this was the first song that popped in my head and have been singing it to her ever since
My husband sang this to me when we were dating. How could I not fall in love? So many songs bring beautiful memories with them. It's bittersweet. It's wonderful to have had a love like that and it's hard when you are the one left waiting for the day to come when you will be together again. 💞💞
Sweet reactions! Love seeing you two loving this song. Can you believe it - Frankie Valli is still alive! Frankie was born May 3, 1934 (age 87), Newark, New Jersey!
Amazing reaction to the great Frankie Vallie! Another incredible '60s song: Age of Aquarius - The 5th Dimension (lyrics) HD (5:01). Get your hippie clothes on for this one!
Love this song! There is so much great songs from back in the days. Oldie’s but Goldie’s. When I grew up we was driving around in those big American cars and playing all this great music on record players in the cars. Good times, good times 😊
Most people don’t know about Frankie is he is deaf, he has a hard time listening to peoples conversations, but can hear sounds, my hearing is the same way, l absolutely love your show, and so happy to find other music enthusiasts, you both bring in male and female perspective of music, your both equally important. I wish you would listen to the group called the Cadillacs, song is Gloria, I think this is where the 4 seasons learned from their piers, wait to you hear the lead singers voice, till this day there is no one that I can think of with his range.
From Rolling Stone Magazine 100 Greatest Singers of All Time, "Frankie Valli is still a giant of the male vocal pop of his era. He's a complete singer, with a multi-octave range and the ability to handle a variety of styles: "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Walk Like a Man" and "Rag Doll" showed off his doo-wop dexterity, with support from the Four Seasons. Valli's solo hits, like "Can't Take My Eyes Off You," revealed his taste for more mainstream material, with a rich R&B influence. "Frankie Valli has become one of the hallmark voices of our generation," said the Bee Gees' Barry Gibb. "He created a style that we all still strive to emulate."
I see my man Elvis in the background. Love, love me some Elvis music. I’m new to your channel. Did you ever listen to”In The Ghetto” it’s absolutely an amazing heartbreaker of a song. He is the 🤴
This was Frankie's solo debut in 1967...he was the lead singer of the Four Seasons who had already made tons of hit songs. I love the contrast, nice and soft on the verses, and cuts loose on the chorus. a very successful musical on Broadway and film called the Jersey Boys is about the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Very worth a watch even though they take some of the songs too fast, lol.
This song make so many Millions of dollars and the record company didn't want them to record. They hated it so much they only released it as a single then it went blew Up!
HUGE rabbit hole here. Four Seasons had their first three singles all go to number 1. Then you have hits like Dawn and Rag Doll which are almost inverse songs, one the girl is too good for him the next not good enough. Then they went away for almost a decade before storming back with December 1963, (Oh What A Night) Add in Frankie's solo stuff (My Eyes Adored You) and you have almost 30 top 25 songs.

Yes!
YES, great song “Sherry” is a MUST!!
Yes!!
Movie Jersey Boys is about this group. Started out as the Four Seasons, then Frankie Vali and the Four Seasons. NO AUTOTUNE, just pure talent.
The live show is a million times better than the movie! It MOVES like a stolen Thunderbird.

He actually made this song sound so much better through the years.Listen to a later version of this on
The Welsh football fans have taken this song to their hearts, always sung at every match

That movie is so chronographically, and technically wrong, that it is an insult to Valli and the 4 Seasons!!

Mine too.
Agreed
Love this song but I wish you played the studio version...
Agree. Why do these reactors ALWAYS play the live version???
It was also used in an iconic wedding scene in "The Deer Hunter" - drunks belting it out

Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons...you can listen to them forever...their hits are endless.
Another favorite male groups of the 60's. I have all of their vinyl record albums and 45's. Love these guys!

Love me some Frankie Valli. I remember when that song came out.
That was fantastic, he kept it all in the same range and the tone was, consistently sick (horn reference).
One of the top 3 bands of all time, The Four Seasons.
That was an era when all these single men artists were "heart throbs!" ❤
Another great East coast Italian singer.........
This was a bedtime song he sang to his little girl before she died. She inspired many songs by him and the 4 seasons
The Lettermen did a medley of this and "Goin' Out Of My Head Over You" Live in concert.
