Been a Mr. Big fan for 30+ years. With so many amazing songs, it's hard to suggest a next listen. Some personal faves are Alive and Kickin, Road to Ruin, Take Cover, and Undertow.
Love this song,..Didnt really appreciate it back in the day, it was a bit overplayed when it came out, but now that I understand vocals more, his voice and their harmonies are literally insane
This was a true super group. One of the Top guitarists of all times in Paul Gilbert . An equaly talented Bass player in Billy Sheehan. And Eric Martin, his voice is just amazing. I can play Mr Big first Album in circles.
It's a 12 string acoustic guitar. A regular guitar usually has 6 strings, but a 12-string has 6 'pairs' of strings (which creates a more chorused kind of sound.)
I was going to mention that. But I can't tell what brand it is. It sounds like a Gibson but the headstock logo looks like Ibanez, which wouldn't be surprising since Paul Gilbert has always been endorsed by them. I had an Ibanez acoustic around 2000 and it had a big, bassy tone also. Edit: I also learned this song on that guitar at the time, lol.
This is an awesome song always been one of my favourites. Great reaction as always. I always have start my day with a cup of Brit. Especially on rainy days like today. Need that positivity for the day. Cheers.
One of the greatest songs of all time. If this comes on and I'm driving you better cover your ears cus I'm belting out the lead vocals like I wrote the song
This is one of the many Supergroups of the 80s made up of members of other successful bands. The guitar is a 12 string. If you like the sound check out, "Hole Hearted" by Extreme. My personal favorite "show off" song I play on a 12 string.
One of the first songs I learnt on the the guitar when I was like 14. Figured I could do the sexy voice as well and get all the ladies (I sounded like a cat screaming). Suffice to say it didn't work, but still has a huge place in my heart.
One of the great "supergroups" that burst upon the scene in the 90's, mostly to be forgotten with the rise of grunge music. Three others were Bad English, Badlands, and the Damn Yankees.
My middle school girlfriend gave me this CD for Valentines Day in 8th grade. While I love this song, "Just Take My Heart" is the best song on this album.
Peak Hair Metal. I like it, I hate it, it's complicated 🤣😂🤣 Metal isn't SUPPOSED to be nice. But so many of these bands made their money with a ballad. Eventually they realized the teen girls were the ones who could get them to #1.
Hey Brit, as a guitar player, I can tell you that that isn't a Spanish guitar so much as just an acoustic guitar. Guitars can have different sonic properties depending upon how they are made and the woods, or other materials, used in their construction. I am sure the guitar player, Paul Gilbert probably has played many to find that one and chose it for its unique sonic properties. So, about this group.... Mr. Big was a supergroup...each of these musicians are well known for their abilities on their instrument of choice and were in other well known bands/projects before being in this group. The members are Eric Martin (singer), Paul Gilbert (guitar), Billy Sheehan (bass) and Pat Torpey (drums; sadly he passed away a few years back). This band was known for their hard rockin songs, but this acoustic song was the one that became their hit single and got them noticed in the world. They are like Extreme that way. They have released several albums over the years. If you want to hear the first song that I believe they released, as far as I know, and was all over Mtv back in the day..... check out 'Addicted To That Rush'... along with 'Take A Walk', 'Merciless', and their version of '30 Days In The Hole'. If you want to see something interesting, check out 'Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy (The Electric Drill Song)' where the guitarist uses a modified electric drill with picks attached to play the solo. Cheers, Tim
@@Cheeseberry69 On the album, the rhythm is a 6 string that is doubled, with on possibly set up with a Nashville tuning. The harmonics are strong because the used good recording gear and that solo guitar probably hard a preamp in it... is it easy to tell that the solo guitar is a 6 string when you hear that those notes are not doubled and the one open E string that Paul 'pops' a little too hard about midway through the solo... but that harmonics at the end have nothing to do with being a 12 string. It is easy to tell when you know what to listen for.
I think Eric Martin should be inducted into the "PDC" just based on his voice alone!!! His voice is stunning!!! Love this song and it never gets old. It has proven to stand the test of time.
Mr Big was (still is) a highly talented band, some of the best musicians in the business, who formed and managed to squeeze out 2 or 3 hit songs before Grunge came in and took over the Rock industry. If Smells Like Teen Spirit hadn't come out the same year, these guys could have had a long successful career in the US. But that's ok, they went off and had a long and very successful career in Japan instead.
HELLO !!! I HAVE A SUGGESTION FOR YOU !!! LISTEN DIMAS SENOPATI OF THIS SONG !!! DIMAS ’ S VOICE IS ABSOLUTELY MOST BEAUTIFUL !!! THIS SONG IS BEAUTIFUL BUT WHEN YOU CAN HEARING THE COVER FOR DIMAS, HE KILLS THIS SONG !!!

spanish style picking on a twelve string guitar. The 12 strings are what make it project so well.
The official video is absolutely amazing.
Billy Sheehan on bass and Brad Gilbert on guitar !!! I mean..two massive talents with long long resumes.... The age of the Supergroup was pretty cool!
Brad Gilbert's brother Paul would find this hilarious!!
Popular song from my gen. One of those feelgood songs that puts you in a good mood.
Such a feel good song and Eric Martins voice is 💋 ❤
This song was everywhere in 1992! I remember hearing it in the chow hall at Goodfellow AFB EVERY DAY! LOL
More Mr. Big please!! Green Tinted Sixties Mind is a great one!
I was obsessed with this when it came out.
This song is great

More 80’s rock songs. Back when they wrote songs to honor and adore women. Not what we get today.
You nailed the assessment. Very campy, sing song. Simply great music.
R.I.P PAT TORPEY!!!!! Drummer for those that dont know.
Guitar is a 12 string which gives a fuller sound compared to the regular 6 string.
Mr. Big is perfect!! Very good videoo.. I like it

You would like "Wild World" as well by Mr Big
Where can we hear you sing Britt?? You seem to have a lovely voice =)
I love this song
One of the greatest songs of all time. If this comes on and I'm driving you better cover your ears cus I'm belting out the lead vocals like I wrote the song
One of my favorite songs from the 80's and 90's. His children is wonderful!! With that little high break that he has!!/!

First song I performed at a school concert when I was 12 😂 so long ago now!

Damn, I knew the song but never knew who sang it. Thxs!
First! (LOVED this song back in the day.)
Cool tune.
Great singer! 👍

Listen he said, to be the NEXT TO be with you, and it is a classical guitar
That song is in the "Family Man" Soundtrack stared by Nicolas Cage and Tara Leoni!! A Christmas Classic.

That's Paul Gilbert on guitar.....he's legit

Check out Erik Grönwall covering this song in his backyard session.
There are 2 bands named Mr. Big. One is British and one is from the USA

It's a 12 string, that's why it has strong harmonics

Thumbs up to choosing another live video!
But the official video for this is also really adorable.
Pick any song from their debut album and you will be floored!! Best come "sans pantis" though cause DAMN!
I think Eric Martin should be inducted into the "PDC" just based on his voice alone!!! His voice is stunning!!! Love this song and it never gets old. It has proven to stand the test of time.
Second this
My heart, the bird of the wild, has found its own heaven in your magic eyes ♥️
This is a good performance, Britt, but I recommend that you check out the official videos for some of these classic songs. Love ya!
🥰🥰🥰
Hold up, Britt !! Ima pause you real quick…run and grab my flannel shirt and bic lighter to finish up this ‘90’s jam…NICE!!
Não consigo sair desse vídeo ❤🇧🇷 faz react de músicas brasileiras. Vai fazer sucesso aqui também. Reacao a Charlie Brow Jr música Céu Azul.
Rules of Engagement anyone?
If you weren't serenading girls at house parties with this in the '90s, were you even trying?! 😄🥰
😂😂😂😂😂
Three other songs to listen to from this album. Just Take My Heart, Green Tinted Sixties Mind, and Daddy Brother Lover Little Boy

Are you going to react to cameo the song Word up so you can see Larry Blackman with the red cup?

React to whenever you come around Vince gill and Allison krauss
He's playing a 12 string...has a much fuller sound.
12 string guitar. Fuller sound
That’s a regular acoustic guitar. He’s just playing the shit out of it 😅
Nope, it's a 12 string, look again
This sounds exactly like the studio version. I’d think he was lip-syncing to the record, though that wouldn’t quite explain the guitar playing.
Seen Mr Big live a number of times as well as Eric Martin solo. You are right you would think it was the record because they are that good live!!
This is 100% the studio version. It's from a Netherlands show called Countdown. All of their performances are lip synched.
@@genegiusti6239 This is not live. It's a show from the Netherlands that is never recorded live.
@@jamiemacdonald436 Ok, got if. Seen them live, just saw Eric last year, met him as well. It may be recorded, but they are that good live.
Pdc?
Just to be the ONLY one to be with you. I just never liked the words.
I think it's lipsync. It's 100% same as studio version
Hello, the vids you react to are barely visible except for one time that I've seen. Just say'n, so why even show it?🤔
It's for copyright reasons.
