I just installed this on my controller it's absolutely top notch the buttons are super clicks and it's very easy to install
I said that straight away in the video, I think my words were something like wow these are click or ooo these are Clicky 😂 glad you've got it all working. Next mod, digital trigger? Haha
I did it and the back bottoms didn’t work but my controller worked fine . So I took it all apart again and made sure everything was right and now my controller won’t even turn on lmao
@@buddyfennell4402 Not the words you want to hear, but take it apart again and make sure everything is connected, something isn't. Is the battery clipped in place? 3rd time lucky!
@@buddyfennell4402 yeah like I just commented, way to much sketch work wait for an official release
Hows it holding up q month in?
Thank you for the great run through on it. I installed it pretty quick, no issues and I love it. Way better than my scuf which the two I own have for ps4 had to be taken apart a dozen times. This is much better than my scufs.
I've fixed a few Scufs for friends, the problem was removing that security screw, how did you manage it? My friends just drilled theirs out.
Good to hear this was an easy install for you, other people have struggled a bit
This is the best, most straight forward video for people who only want the main buttons re mapped. Thanks man you walked me through the entire install perfectly!
Always good to hear somebody took the challenge and didn't find it to hard 😁 I get so many people saying they'll never be able to do it, can they send me their control pad and will I install it 😂
I thought I recognised this channel! I remembered watching all you Kodi videos years ago! Glad you’re still on UA-cam 👌🏻
Thanks for the step by step guide! I followed it, and my controller and paddles worked after! The trickiest part was the ribbon at the top of the controller. Even with tweezers, it was difficult to get free.
Did you have the blue or green one? Yeah tweezers are the best bet, no way would I have removed it otherwise 😂
@@CraigsChannel The OG controller, I don't think it was colored blue or green
@@awesome6058 So far when I've opened the pads I've had to fit kits it's been blue or green. The analog sticks werena different colour as well, one was blue and the other orange, not sure if they've upgraded them some how as lots of people are reporting stick drift
Great vid and clearly explained, gonna get one myself now - gained a new sub 👍
Thanks man, I'm going to do another video but with the soldering. This videos ideal for people like me who only want the usually buttons mapped, but some people want L3 and R3 on the back. Also going to do a video on the Clicky digital triggers, not sure if you've seen them before?
@@CraigsChannel thanks for reply, just ordered a set for x & o only. No I haven’t heard of those triggers
@@trots67 X and O is really all you need. Not sure if you've used back buttons before but they take a while to get used to, just stick to it and use them every chance you get.
Do you play CoD? If so the digital triggers just mean you'll be quicker to aim and shoot, I did a video on them with the PS4 controller
Just got to say, fantastic video, just followed and paused and was up and running in 25 mins. To remap I just held the button between the paddles down for a few seconds until it flashed, then held the paddle and pressed the button I was mapping from. Took 10 seconds to map my X and O buttons. The paddles are nice and clicky and sturdy. Thanks Craig for a simple to follow tutorial. I'll be ordering another controller and kit
My latest video I've just explained the remap as a few people were sure how to do it, once you do though it super easy to remember, but once you've mapped you'll never need to mess with it again. It's the midnight black controller I took apart to check inside to see which sticks and cables they're using with it being a brand new pad.
25mins is good going, somebody said it took them 2 hours 😂
@Alejandro Gonzalez Yeah works on PC, few people I know use controller on PC
Can we get an update on your controller?
@@lamb-tika-cod4934 I've got two modded controller and both are working superbly. Highly recommend 👌
Craig your a damn legend, just put mine together. Never would of had the confidence to do this if I didn’t come across your video
I tell people it looks harder than it is, if you time your time and be careful everything will go to plan. Always nice to hear its helped somebody 😁
You just walked me through my build. Thank you so much. Keep doing your amazing videos. 👏
Thanks, its always nice to hear people getting everything working 😁
Nice video mate, might order one myself 👌
I've been waiting months for this to be released, it weird using a Dualsense after having my Dualshock for so long. Reason I never used this pad was lack of buttons
This video is an exemplary walkthrough of this installation! Highly recommend! First time opening up a controller and I was able to do it!
Quite a few people have been having issues, but always nice to hear from somebody like yourself saying first time you manage to do it 😁
Just set mine up. Missed back buttons that I had with the PS4. Love it. Works perfectly
Tell me about it, I've been waiting 7 months for them to release back buttons, was using my PS4 pad on the PS5 😂
@@CraigsChannel do you know if some color patterns are better quality? It’s been a month and I had the gold one. One of the flippers broke. I noticed if you press the buttons all the way, half of that adds pressure to the trigger... and it was very cheap, it snapped so now one button won’t work :(
@@CraigsChannel basically is the one you installed rubber or something other than cheap light plastic?
@@bryansbag if you drop them an email they'll send you a new paddle info@extremerate.com
I'm still using the black textured one, been using it pretty much every day since I got it
Literally buying this from amazon rn cheers 👍
Hope you enjoy it and let me know your feedback
@@Lexxsy will do in a weeks time 👍
@@Dodgingss I'm sure if you haven't used Prime before Amazon let you sign up for a week for something like 99p, I'm hoping to do it next week for Prime Day 😂
@@CraigsChannel I was going to wait for prime day too but I'm not sure if stock will last didn't want to take any chances so I bought at full price. thanks tho 👊
Yeah that's what my friend said, he didn't want to risk them running out so just bought it. When it comes make sure you have the two rods as a few peoples have been missing or only had one
Awesome but I don't trust myself to do this 😂 great videos mate
Did you manage to install it 😂
@@CraigsChannel not brave enough 🤦🏻♂️😂
Thanks for the video. Ran into some similar issues with remap button so the short cut options was great and I was able to fit the button as it was constantly turning on the remap option. Works great!
The fix for the button is remove it, and the screw driver what came with the kit, slowly put it in the holes to make them a tiny bit bigger and it'll work fine after that Kev
Thank you for showing me how to do it. Took me about 30 minutes and it works.
Just ordering one of these and fully anticipating a very frustrating couple of hours trying to get it working properly. I’ll be slide cancelling/bunny hopping/drop shotting bots in no time.
Just take your time, no rush, you'll have it up and running in no time and like you say slide canceling your heart out 😂
My paddles don’t seem clicky. I put the bar in, the place them into position but they’re flush with the controller casing and don’t seem to be clicky. Any reason for this?
@@bluemoon7371 When you press them do they not sound like mine when J press them? Mine are extremely Clicky. Maybe you've not put the board in correctly, the one that they press against? Are the paddles on the right way, I'm unsure if you can even put them on wrong, just thinking of ideas for you
My paddles make a sort of dull click, yet yours seem to be more a natural click, if that makes sense. I think the mechanism is working as the paddles are hitting the sensors, just unsure why mine seem somethings not right. I can’t test them until tomorrow morning so I’ll let you know. Like you said, the paddles are pretty self explanatory and they’re definitely placed in correct. Thanks for the quick reply mate.
@@bluemoon7371 Hmm that's a weird one, I've heard people having other issues that they've fixed by just opening the pad and moving wires but yours is a strange one... they really should be more Clicky. Maybes pop that back cover for the actually buttons off, then remove the little board with the two screws and see if anything looks wrong there, it's only two little press sensor things so not much can go wrong. Definitely keep me up to date if you fix it, nothing worse than buying something and it not work 100%
Can you do a video of you playing a game with it please?
It works great and quick to get used to I promise
@@gilbertocruz875 I already have a scuff controller so am already used to the back buttons I need a change though because am sick of buying new analogue sticks, they do not last on scuff for the price witch as ps controllers are very durable in my opinion. Thanks for your reply 👍🏻
I did some gameplay last week, I'm no CoD Pro so probably not showing it off as well as other people who are better, but it really helps me.
Scuf always seem to have issues with their controllers, you can send them to get fixed but sometimes you have to pay and then you'll be waiting weeks to get it back 👎
Yeah thats why i never got a scuff I got cousin who goes through them often, but like i said you will like these paddles and not hard to do
Nope they aren't hard to fit at all, the good thing I say is if you ever have problems you can fix them yourself. Were as with Scuf you can't because of their stupid security screw
Thank you for my controller with back buttons and digital buttons.
Made a huge difference mate :)
It really does, once you get used to them theres no going back 😁
First time on the channel, was surfing modded PS5 controllers and this was a very good video. (subscribed)
Thanks man, yeah I've been round a while modding controllers, since the PS4. Really I should start doing Xbox as well, so my audience isn't just Playstation people, I've got an Xbox Seires as well as the PS4 so I'm not a fan boy, but really prefer the PS5 😂
Okay done step 1 ✅
Step 2 : find ps5 to buy
Step 2 completed day 1 😉
I can't believe Sony still haven't got enough consoles for gamer to buy, it's all scalpers buying them to sell for double the money 👎
@@CraigsChannel there's a world wide semi conductor shortage, that's the problem
Oh is that the issue? I didnt know, I heard Sony are expecting to sell something like 22.6 million consoles this year, it popped up on Google this morning when I was flicking through the news
@@CraigsChannel lol just 5 % of real gamers around the world does have Ps5 , we are all fucking waiting for this and nothings
The controller that you didnt know what it was is the Nintendo Switch Pro controller 👍
I've had most consoles but that one I just really wasn't sure of! Somebody pointed out my mistake, I confused a Dualshock 3 for a Dualshock 4 when I was going through them, maybe because it was upside down 😂
‘Don’t know what that is I got no idea’ 😂 atleast you was honest
@@TomMcHaleOfficial I honestly had no clue, I've used most consoles but never that one, bet theres loads of pads people haven't even seen or heard of out there!
Excellent video mate, perfect guide through the install, helped to make it simple for any first timers like myself. Gave your channel a shoutout on an amazon review directing to this video. Cheers 👍.
Thanks Adam appreciate it, glad it all went to plan, some people have been finding the install a little tricky but they've got there in the end 😁
Thanks bro top video! Mines all on and working now 🤘 nice to hear an accent from not too far away too haha keep up the good stuff
Always good to hear an install went smoothly. Where you from mate?
I'm guessing you went for the 2 butron kit? They've actually just released the 4 button kit, I did a video on that the other night
How hard is it to do 4 frickin back buttons?...Are we commited to leaving our thumbs on the joysticks or what?...Just give the option !
Do you need 4? 2 is enough for me, I'm sure they'll bring out another kit with 4 soon though
@@CraigsChannel "Do you need 4?"
Depends on what game you're playing...
I take my battle royales seriously. Fortnite in my opinion absolutely needs 4 to compete in the higher levels, far too many binds needed in a short space of time. Games like warzone on the other hand... 2 buttons is more than enough. I also avoid attaching binds to R3, seems to make controller stick drift happen way faster for me
I have mailed them several times requesting for a timeline for the release of the 4 back buttons… It’s not so hard to release it, just a minor adjustment to the hard- & software… they just want us to first buy 2 back buttons after that they will release the 4 buttons to make more profit out of us!!! I love EXtremeRate but hate them for doing this to us😩.
They said it'll be next year, around February for the 4 buttons, but they might change their mind and it could be sooner or later! Guess we'll just have to wait and see
@@nandekumarramcharan9323 damn that sucks. I am so used to their 4 button kit on my PS4 controller. Especially in Battlefront 2 with right side jump and switch shoulder camera, left side dodge and weapon cool/reload.
Must say that this was an amazing video. I put the exact set on my controller and it was extremely quick. I have the RMB kit coming as well. Great job!
Thanks man, I'm actually doing a video tomorrow on the RISE4 which is the back button kit with 4 buttons rather than 2, I dropped a video earlier letting people know as I've been asked about it for months
@@CraigsChannel cool! I’ll check it out. I’m happy with just two buttons as I just use it for O and X myself.
Snap, that's all I've ever used, I'm happy to try for but think that's all I'll end up using, but I could suprise myself and use them! Only time will tell 😄
@@CraigsChannel quick question. When you assembled this the first time did the buttons not work until you plugged the controller in? I was able to do the mapping but the buttons on the back wouldn’t respond. I was about ready to take it apart but then I plugged in the usb and it worked.
@@chrisruss45 No mine worked soon as I turned the pad on. I know some people have been trying to fit this v1 010 kit to a 020 pad and came into issues as they aren't compatible, but they've brought out the newer version now for both
Was nervous about doing this but I followed your video and was able to install with no problem! Thanks so much!
Glad it all went good. You should never be nervous, I tell people that all the time to have confidence in themselves and just take your time, if you aren't sure of something just take a look at the video again or work out what's wrong.
Is your next mod the digital triggers 😂
@@CraigsChannel yea that’s the plan! I saw your video and will be doing it next week.
@@justinfhn92 Since you've already had the control pad apart, you'll find it a bit easier now and won't be nervous at all 😁
They've actually just released another Clicky kit but for the front buttons
Excellent video. Amazing product. I couldn't even find something like this for the ps4 Era, had to buy a damn $200 SCUF, and they screwed me by adding an extra controller onto my order and wouldn't give me a refund. Modding my own ps5 controller for $40 on Amazon is an absolute steal. I am very pleased.
Yeah Scuf are super expensive. I can't believe they wouldn't let you refund! That's bad service.
Not sure if you seen my other video but you can add digital triggers as well to the Ps5
@@CraigsChannel what's the purpose of that?
If you play games like Call of Duty you can aim and shoot much faster. Scuf offer digital triggers also but you have to buy the controller to go with them. This one I did the video on you buy and fit yourself. I've been using them since the PS4
@@CraigsChannel I'll check it out, thx
Cheers for the guide buddy. Installed on my dualsense and working like a charm.
Nice man, few people came into issues fitting but glad you did it with ease 😎
So elaborate!! And very easy to understand and follow!! Thanks man :)
Thanks for watching 😎 glad it was an easy viewing for you 😁
Thank you sir for this tutorial. The hardest part for me was putting the top and buttom plastic parts together towards the end. Was worried I'd break something . Just needed some patience
Yes sir its all about patience with this controllers. A few people have had issues but I've said just take your time and double check you've done everything right. It saves you paying $300 on a Scuf 😁
@@CraigsChannel so I am wondering if I can disable the buttons for a while. Sometimes I am playing another game and don’t wanna use them.
Only thing you can do is not press them or rest your hands on a part of the pad so you won't touch them
@@CraigsChannel ah thanks
just installed these today. very good video, tweezers are lifesaving when doing this. take your time and you will have no problem installing this. Lastly, when programming your back buttons. put in program mode and set the buttons you want, and then take it out of program mode when ready to test it. Thanks again. just need to wait for digital triggers to come in now. no sense in an aftermarket controller now.
Thanks for the comment. My latest video of the midnight black controller I explained the remap mode after installing the back buttons and digital triggers to it
@@CraigsChannel yea I figured it out now . But again , thanks for the video and easy step by step process
More than welcome glad I could be of assistance. I'm just waiting on a few more kits LED and front Clicky kit, so I'll have them videos up when they arrive
Been waiting for these for a while, I'm local to you and make custom controllers as a side business cant wait to get stuck into some dualsense controllers
Oh nice, do you make much from them? I don't even think Extremerate sell these as a whole yet, meaning pre built. I know they did for the Dualshock on their other site hexgaming I think it's called.
Some people just don't feel comfortable taking a controller apart, so much more convenient for them to buy one already made
@@CraigsChannel I make a profit, not enough to quit the day job though 😂 I also clean and repair consoles. They sell pretty much everything wholesale costs me about £80 to do a fully custom controller with clicky triggers, swappable thumb sticks, back buttons etc using a new controller and I sell them for around £110
Hell of a lot cheaper than a Scuf, maybe open a Facebook or Instagram page if you haven't already to get your customer base a bit wider. Any profits a profit 😂
Thanks for the video. It helped my installation go smoothly.
Hope you enjoy your new modded controller 😎
I just set mine up and I love it.
If the back buttons aren’t working after remapping
Try remapping one button and taking off remap mode and then remap the other button
That worked for me
That's a good idea but you should have to do that, they should just work straight away. If anybody else had any issues I'll tell them to do this 😁
Worked like a charm!
Always good to hear 😁
Thanks Craig. Very helpful!
Thanks for your instructions really simple and easy to follow

Nice and clear walkthrough. Focus needs work, but everything else was great.
I agree on the Focus, I've been playing about with settings on my phone. I really need to buy a camera rather than using my phone.

Same here, I had the back button kit but the one eXtremerate made, I've been using my PS4 controller on the PS5 since release... I'm still trying to get the hand of the Dualsense, it feels so strange and it's really heavy
Just ordered mine. It arrives tomorrow. Having used a scuff infinity 4ps Pro with digital bumpers and paddles for the past 3 years, I'm finding it so hard to play without paddles.
Just installed the extremerate height adjustable thumbsticks. Will see how I go with the haptic triggers and may make a move to digital bumpers. Great video
It really is so hard to go back, I say to people they don't know what they're missing not having back buttons. I dont like the haptic triggers that's why I ended up fitting the digital triggers and doing the other video.

@@CraigsChannel thanks Craig, I ended up ordering the clickers as well and they are also arriving today. I will see how I go, but if I can't get use to them, then I'll install the clickers and get another controller to have haptic triggers. Great vid! Followed it exactly, install went well, the controller works good. Honestly doesn't fit my hands as well as my old competitive controllers for ps4 but times have changed and I'll just have to get used to it in BF 2042 since you can only use the dualsense on ps5 games!
I hear you on that, when I first started using the Dualsense it felt so bad compared to the Dualshock. I've only small hands and the Dualshock fit perfectly. But after some time using the Dualsense it feels really well built and solid. You'll like it after a week
Thank you for the tutorial, it was very help full. This kit is very good, I got the chameleon colour and it just great.

Thank you for watching it 👌
Quick question Craig, how do you melee without the L3 R3 functions? I know you can switch the button layout in the options menu of WZ (e.g. stick and move,), but do you end up sacrificing a function by skipping the soldering? Thanks mate, love your vids.
Im pretty sure when he said he doesnt need the l3 r3 buttons, he meant that he doesn't need those buttons to be remappable onto the back buttons
Yeah sorry I should have been more clear, I didn't need to map L3 R3, to punch people head in with my gun I smash the shit out of R3 😂
So I have to take everything out and put that piece in ??? I play tactical and I use my back paddle as r3
Because it's not letting me map r3 to my paddle
@@daniellealex9526 if you want R3 as one of your back buttons you'll have to solder that little strip you didn't put in, it's only two tiny drops of solder to install it but didn't do it on the video as Extremerate had already done a video with soldering, so I thought I would do without
Thx for the video everything are really simple with your help and the kit is great 👍

Thanks for a great vid....exactly what I was looking for
Happy to help 👌
Quick Quesiton - Can you still use O and X on the pad once this is done? or does the back buttons replace them? (sorry if this has been asked before)
Ask anything you like Alex, yeah you can still use all the original buttons as normal, these back buttons just give you two extra of which ever you choose, so me I use X and O
Hey Craig thanks for the video ✌🏾 just fixed mine up yesterday and didn’t manage to remap the “ x “ and “ o “ button and also wouldn’t recongnize the the “ R1 “ and “L1 “ button when i came to setting mode ( turning on the red light ) controller works absolutely fine without the pads apart from that though
Do you know if its a 010 or 020 board?
I've physically disabled the r3 clicker (clipped off the orange plastic inside the thumbstick that would depress internal button). Would i be able to program R3 to one of the rise paddles by remapping it to another button via PS5 custom button assignments, or if I would have to open the controller up and hold it in with a flathead long enough to program the RISE paddle? I'm assuming I would still have to solder the r3/l3 rise paddles either way... Thanks!
Hello, good afternoon, I would like to know if I can connect the remap kit and the led kit to the same remote
Thanks and greetings
Done!! took me about 90 mins but im useless at this sort of thing ha! mine wouldn't map at first but took it apart and reinserted the strips. thanks for the great vid!
how long did it take for you to get used to the paddles?
It took me a couple of days, I've been using them on my PS4 for around a year so I'm not new to them. But with these being so different they felt so weird at the start.
I'm slowly getting used to the Dualsense as well, as I was using the Dualshock 4 on the PS5 until I got this kit
Thanks for the easy to understand tutorial
No problem at all Woogie, glad you got it all fitted 😁
Next you'll want some digital triggers 👌

My only advice is use them as much as possible, even at the main menu and options screen, use them then so the more you've pressed them the more muscle memory you'll have. When I first started using back buttons I thought I'd never get the hang of them, but stuck to them and love them, I can't play without them anymore
@@CraigsChannel yeah that's what I've been doing but I find myself pressing the actual X and O every now and then. I play plenty of rebirth so I'll soon get in to it I think. Just need to master the drop shot and bunny hop aswel
@@mcdo246 update please?
@@lamb-tika-cod4934 still using them today, no issues would recommend.
Mine unfortunately snapped but they sent me two new ones out with upgraded plastic on the bits where they snapped, so nice to see they've been fixing any issues
i need your help pls
i can’t remap the k buttons i did everything right and checked million times.
sometimes the red light doesnt turn off or on even if i press l1 l2 arrow down and x billion times or seconds and if it works the k buttons still doesnt have any function ???
Good vid!!! Thank you very much
Hey man, the dpad doesn’t seem to work at all, the remap works great. I’ve triple checked the ribbons and even reinstalled the PlayStation ribbon to try get the dpad to work but there isn’t any response at all. Any idea why, is there any fix? Or did I break the input
I'm a PC user with an Elite Series 2, but this looks really cool!
I'd love to join the PC gang, but with me only really playing one game it might be a waste of money.
Have you checked to see if anubodys made a video to compare the Dualsense to the Xbox controller? I know the Elites been out a while now, a friend had one but he got stick drift 👎
@@CraigsChannel It's honestly worth it in the long run. I mainly play Warzone ,but i had the PC prior to the game launch. I haven't looked into a comparison , but i did read the PS5 and Elite 2 controllers use the same Alps thumbstick modules which are prone to drift. Luckily i haven't had that issue yet, apart from my RB and LB are starting to have a double input, which is another common issue. Luckily i have the warranty.
What's the spec of your PC? And what's frames you getting playing WZ? I know they've just released 120hz on the Ps5 for WZ but my monitor is only 60hz so I'm due an upgrade.
Yup they use the ALPs analogs, when I've opened a few Dualsense controller one had orange ones so maybe they're a newer version, the older ones are blue
@@CraigsChannel It's pretty old and the market is really bad at the moment for upgrades. I have an i7 3770K @4.3GHz, a GTX 980ti, Asus P8Z77 WS Motherboard, 32GB DDR3 RAM, 250GB PNY SSD, 1TB WD Blue HDD, and a Corsair CS650M PSU. Not sure on my monitors exact model number but its a budget Acer 1080p display @144Hz. I get between 75-95fps on low settings in Verdansk, and around 90-110 in Rebirth Island. A 120hz monitor with HDMI 2.1 would be the best upgrade you could make for your PS5 at the moment then. It would be nice to see how the orange capped ones hold out. Lets hope one day companies make them modular so users can replace them themselves 😂
Oh so you're not using something like a GTX 2080, thought you might have been!
That's crazy how you get more FPS on RB than actual BR... I thought they'd both run the same frames. I prefer RB it's much nicer having a smaller map, I've had loads of wins on there messing about. BR I've zero wins on this new account, as my old one got hacked, I lost Damascus and Obsidian on loads of guns, I managed to grind Damascus again on the new account, actually grinding it a 3rd time on another account in case this gets hacked 😂
I hope the new orange analogs are better quality! I've only ever once changed them and what a nightmare it was desoldering them from the board
I just ordered the white one! Having back buttons on PS4 changed the game (well, pretty much every game :P). But I only had the FPS Strike Pack, which although I loved to death, did have the problem of malfunctioning the gyro. Can't wait to finally have wireless back button usage on PS5, and at the same price!
I've heard so many mixed reviews with the strike pack that's why I never bought one.
Like you say back buttons are a game changer, I try to explain to people how much better they are on games like CoD. I can jump round a corner and aim at the same time, were if I didn't have them I couldn't move my fingers fast enough.
@@CraigsChannel Oh yeah. I'm a CoD player as well. Besides the competitive advantage (I only ever used the back button feature, no modding macros or "auto-aim" or anything like that), it just feels like I'm more connected to the game, know what I mean? I can find a use for it in pretty much every game because what game doesn't use the face buttons? :P After a couple years of use on PS4 before PS5 came out (I'm a lucky one who managed to pre-order), I had no major issues. Fortnite, CoD, Doom: Eternal, FF7R, Nioh, Dark Souls, character action games like Nier: Automata... some of those games I'd just rather not play without back buttons. It's like 30 fps and 60 fps for me. I can get used to 30 fps, but 60 fps is just better, and some games are a lot better. I've been waiting for the Doom: Eternal next-gen upgrade that comes out at the end of the month--after I played Doom: Eternal with back buttons, playing without them feels like I'm seriously disadvantaged, and it's frankly less fun. Definitely a game changer. I mostly use X on right and O on left as well :) though clicking left back paddle for sprint in CoD is also nice if you play tactical layout so it wears out the stick less! You can even somewhat get around the soldering L3 R3 issue by remapping the buttons through the console or if the game allows it!
@@BCBtheBeastlyBeast My friend wants the soldering done so I did that on his controller last week, I'm happy with X and O
I managed to get the PS5 on launch as well, so seems like I've been waiting forever for these back buttons... I was still using my PS4 pad on the PS5 until the other week, just hate playing without back buttons.
I seen Doom on offer and was thinking about buying it just for the upgrade, always nice to have an upgrade 😁
@@CraigsChannel Can't wait to see it at 120hz. And if the shipping time is about accurate, I'll have the back paddles just in time! It's a really good game and I haven't played the DLC yet--been waiting dat upgrade.
My monitor is only 60hz 4k, my TV is 120hz but its 65" far to big to play video games on, people say the bigger the better but I prefer a smaller screen for gaming, my monitor is only 28" and I sit maybe 3ft away.
I heard Warzone is now 120hz on PS5
Question, at 10:15 with the main flex cable can you put it under the PS5 one and it work? Because mine will not stay down over it, and if it gets loose the controller will not power on at all. I've seen others with this issue and maybe tape would help hold it down.
Try gently bending it a little to keep it in place, its sometimes really tricky to do but with some patience you'll get it
Great video man, mine are arriving this weekend, one quick question after remapping the 0 & X does the buttons on the controller also work with. So you have to options for 0&X ?
Yes. I have the remap kit for the DS4 which is designed very similarly on the electronic side of things. The back buttons are essentially wired in parallel with whatever button you map them too, so both the original and new back button will work normally. That ribbon that he places on the little pegs at 10:10 just lays over the original ribbon that goes to most of the original buttons on the controller.
it does
Thank you very much that was great just moded my first controller 🎮 👍
Just the back buttons or have you gone for the digital triggers as well?
No just the back button for the moment your tutorial was great keep up the good work. 👍 @@CraigsChannel
@@philipsalmon2026 Thanks man appreciate it. Well hopefully you're back again if you decide to add anymore mods, my pads got bloody everything on it 😄
Unfortunately my K2 button snapped 2 days ago, but they've sent me a spare out, with you getting a 12 month warranty
Easy fix that one but put it on your channel show good warranty 👍@@CraigsChannel
It says they've been redesigned! Hopefully they're stronger this time, I've used mine for 4 months I think now, but it could be a simple thing like adding extra plastic to the weak part. I'll definitely get a video up
Why are my paddles not clicky like yours? Just hooked it up to the ps5 and my L1 button in game was unresponsive. Took apart the whole thing and made sure all the ribbon cables were connected. Everything works perfectly now but I've noticed the back buttons are very sensitive compared to the ps4 back button attachment from PS4. Also the black piece that goes around the analog stick is not in place meaning the 2 pointy ends no longer connect to the touch pad but it's not too big of an issue.
You'll have to take a photo of the bit your saying on the analog sticks?
The buttons are really sensitive at first but give it a few days and you'll be totally used to them 😁 took me a good few days to stop hitting them by accident
Hi followed your guide step by step, really thought I'd nailed it but now my controller won't power on (it was fully charged before). I've checked the battery connection and it's fully in. Any suggestions on where to go next? All help greatly appreciated.
The ribbon cables sound like you've fitted them the wrong way around, pop the pad open and double check
Do they have a 4 button configuration? I have the 4 button for my PS4 controller and it’s amazing to be able to hit all face buttons without taking your thumbs off the sticks
No not yet it's just two. You must have the v1 kit they made? I was using that still on my PS5 until theh brought this one out, I only use the 2 buttons X and O, I've never needed all 4 but know some people like yourself prefer to. Give it time and they'll have a 4 button but for the mean time this is the best it gets 👍
I play claw but I contain breathing in COD with a left paddle. I would buy this asap if I had PS5. Do they have this sort of attachment for XBOX Series X controllers?
Unfortunately they dont have one for the newer Series controller but they do have them for the older Xbox controller, like the ones on the Xbox One S and One S. I'm the same as you and have the newer style controller as I've got the Series S.
If you buy yourself the older style controller you could mod that to have back buttons, think I might do it to be honest 😁
THANK YOU SO MUCH OMG IM SO HAPPY
I'm happy you're happy 😁
Hey quick question so I keep seeing remapping the L3 R3 and track pad does that mean using the kit disables L3 R3 and track pad so you won't be able to use those buttons unless you solder it?
No they'll still work as normal, you just won't be able to use them via the back buttons
@@CraigsChannel thanks I appreciate it 🙏
Any time 👍 need to know anything else I'm always here
Great show bro, you should fit them for customers👍👍👍
I'd rather people did it themselves, so if anything ever went wrong they could fix it rather than sending it to somebody. I know companys like Scuf sell modded controllers but the prices they ask are rather on the high side
So the back paddles just going to be for R2 and L2? Or you back remap it to like Square and X?
Mine are back left O and back right X
I struggle to play games without back buttons now I'm so used to them
great vid. got mine working. any ideas how to make the controller fit on the charger
I don't think there is any charging stations compatible with it, you'll maybe have to find a 3rd party one or just use the USB cable like me
Your a legend
Thank you my friend 😁
I just ordered the remapping kit with the blue textured back
Nice, I just went for the black with black texture. I'm going for the white one next to keep the standard look on one of my pads 😁
Thanks for the help, got it Installed ok, along with clicky triggers, controller synced after booting up PS5 with another controller, going into the accessories menu, blue tooth accessories , deleteing the 2nd controller, then pressing the PS & Share button till the new controller starting blinging blue then It asks do you want to sync, I have 2 other controllers never had to do this when swopping between them, at least I`ve got it up and running :)
Yeah that's a really weird one, normally you just plug the pad in via the USB and works fine. I've had to delete pads as I had about 10 synced lol
Do the button remaps reset after turning off PS5 or if controller turns off?
Can you still turn on console with controller?
Does this device act any different if using controller wireless or with wired? I normally use my controller wired.
Once you remap the buttons they'll stay like that forever or until you wish to change them, which I doubt you will. I always use Wired as well, but that doesn't make a difference either, you can use wired or wireless
Great video man! You were very detailed and showed great angles each step of the way!!
I just finished setting up the controller and I can navigate the ps5 fine but as soon as I open up a game the controller becomes unresponsive??
I'm sure somebody else had that problem and said it was due to a ribbon cable not being pushed in fully! They can be a little tricky with them being so small, but sound like you just need to double check they're all in right
@@CraigsChannel THANK YOU FOR THE QUICK RESPONSE! Hahaha I’ll do that and let you know if it works! I appreciate the help bro!
Yeah no problem at all, I just looked at my phone and you must have messaged at that moment 😂
Definitely let me know how you get on. It'll be something simple, somebody else accidentally ripped one of the ribbon cables, but extremerate sent them a new one out
@@CraigsChannel if I’m going to be honest, first time doing a controller mod. I did basically destroy a ribbon connector and figured out that was the problem. I replaced it with the ps5 controller ribbon (luckily it was for the d pad and not the triangle and circle buttons) and it fixed the issue. The controller website showed my trigger was pushed all the way even tho it wasn’t and there was no issue with the trigger. So definitely point people to checking their ribbons and connections and check that controller website can’t remember off the top of my head… also I work like 9 hours a day + family stuff so I couldn’t get back to you until now. Thanks for the help and cheers mate!
@@ogbladee The ribbons are so thin, I understand people can rip them, touch wood I haven't but its an easy mistake. I know eXtremerate are really helpful and usually send people spares or parts they're missing straight away which is nice of them.
Good to hear its all working for you :-)
Hi team the video is perfect but the lights come on but the paddles don’t respond to the map buttons?
I installed using your video. My controllers still working but not sure if the rise is working as pressing button but no light. Did the r1 l2 x and down but still no light???? Help me please lol
Hello Craig I have bought the same kit and had a go at fitting it.
but my;r1,r2,l1,l2 and left hand directional buttons aren't working now.
any tips or know where the connection has failed?
It just sounds like you haven't pushed all the ribbon cables in if you've got that many buttons not working
I exactly followed all the steps correctly but I my controller doesn't switch on when pressing the playstation button. I disassembled everything and checked all the cables but everything is put correctly. Any idea what can be wrong?
just installed on mine but for some reason the PS button in the middle of the controller won't work to turn the controller on? When I plug the controller in however it charges etc but I just can't get it to turn on since doing this? any help?
Can you share the experience on delay after you click every paddle response time.please Thanx
I've not noticed a delay, it's just like pressing the symbol buttons, it works really well
Hey does this work this the led lights attachment too? I wanna buy this but if I can’t equip it to my led controller I would get e different color , I don’t wanna break my controller doing that
Hi, when you say LED attachment which one do you mean?
craig i instaled back buttons and maping doesnt work.. red light flashes and i hold 2 buttons then exit mapping and k1 k2 doesnt work.. do you have solution?

thank you so much, it helped me alot.
More than welcome. Did the install go to plan? Guessing it's for CoD 😎
@@CraigsChannel yes it's perfect! hahaha yes CoD!
Does this allow you to remap all the buttons or do you need to solder to remap the L3 & R3?
You need to solder for L3 R3, I don't need them mapped as I only wanted X and O
Hi just fitted it now everything works great but my light bar at the sides is not working is that normal or have I not done something right
It sounds like a ribbon cable might not be pushed in all the way. Tbh I wouldn't mind disabling them lights, so what ever you did I'd like to do it to save battery life 😄
