- Airbag, ABS, ESP lights on? Check your wheel speed sensors!
Update: After about 10 months, my rear RIGHT sensor has gone faulty now. I don't know what it is with these cars and these sensors. I went ahead and replaced it. Tip: the screw is a T30 male torx. It was hard to remove even with the screw out. I pryed it off with a screwdriver gently. Replacement works well.
My rear left wheel has done same lol .gonna give it ago tommorow .I have abs sensor parking break.traction control .tyre pressure and power steering lights on .
Just did this job on my 2014 Passat. I had TPMS, Airbag and ABS warning lights. The dealer diagnosed a faulty ABS module and quoted me $3200 part and labor! I drove to O'Reilly's and had them pull the codes. They came up with a bad wheel sensor. $25 and a half hour later I had the sensor replaced and no warning lights!
Good God, 3200??? Wow. Now I'm very glad I took the effort to do it myself. I had trouble with a duralast sensor from autozone not sending correct data and returned it. Had to find a discount euro part website that had a good deal on the OE Ate part. Local dealer wanted $133 plus tax for it.
@@Bizija123 where do you bought the sensor??
Thanks

@@Bizija123 thanks. You changed by yourself or where you went? I already call 3 places and they dont change costumer parts. Thanks again
@@Perromocho123 Changed myself. It was fairly easy.
Great video. Made me steer clear of the Duralast sensors. Purchased a Bosch. Where did you purchase your Ancel VD700? I see them for $138 on Amazon and $75 on eBay. Want to make sure I get a functioning device. Thanks in advance for the help!
I originally purchased it on Amazon but I have since got even a nicer scanner (Thinktool mini), I'd be happy to sell you mine if you'd like for 50 plus shipping. It's been used very little.
Thanks for your video. I replaced the sensor with a Napa one and got the code that said "incorrect signal" and it didn"t work. ordered one from your site and we will give it a go? Thanks
What website did you get the sensor? Thx in advance.
Our dealer wants to charge us $293 parts and labor! I think I'll try to replace it myself.
Do you disconnect the battery to reset the computer after everything?
Did you have to reset something through the scanner after putting the new sensor in? Or you just put the new sensor in and it should just work and not show any lights?
Hi. You don't need a scanner for the light to go away. It will go away eventually after driving few miles if the new sensor is good.
@@Bizija123 Awesome. Thanks for the reply!
My dealer wants to charge $511 to replace front sensor. came on when i had my brakes done. 😢
Mine wants $550 for the same job
How are you guys.
What tools do i need to replace the sensor?
Thanks
You need a torx metric socket set www.amazon.com/Neiko-10071A-Socket-Metric-13-Piece/dp/B000J0TF6G/ref=sr_1_40?dchild=1&keywords=torx+set&qid=1612302972&sr=8-40
My Passat is giving me all of the same errors but it is not starting at all. Is this normal for this issue? Went overnight from having 0 error lights and no issues to almost all of them going and the car not starting.
Hi Ashley. The car shows all those lights before starting and that's normal. The fact that yours is not starting is not related to a wheel speed sensor. There is another problem and it should be scanned with a diagnostic tool.
Hi Ashley that's battery or alternator .
I need that same part left rear side what web site did you use i cant find that part anywhere
try this alleuro.com/Parts/ATE/WHT003859B
@@Bizija123 This website shows OE part not OEM part?
I bought one duralast wheel speed sensor for my volswagen jetta SE 2014 from AutoZone I need to replace it on the front right wheel a shop charge me 70$ for labor should I trust them the mechanic has 20 years of experience
You decide, it's literally a 15 minute job.
how can you tell which wheel has the bad sensor?
Without a VW specific scan tool it would be difficult to know which wheel. From what I have seen, It's almost always the rear left wheel.
Rick auto they are 20$
Can you send me the link. I need this for my right rear.
Do you disconnect the battery to reset the computer after everything?
I did not need to, the codes and errors go away after everything is fixed. I did have an advanced obd scanner to clear the codes quickly.
