You can launch explosive canisters more or less further than the projectiles here. If you attach cardboard to 2 diagonally opposite bearings and weld it all together then slap a bomb on the front and then use however many spud guns you want behind it.

It has some useful parts like compressed air and CO2 canisters which provide force without destruction (lots of it in the case of CO2) and the modular bomb nose, which not only looks like a bullet, but also explodes as well. My advice is to put a block between the two however (such as a pipe), because the nose doesn't properly absorb most of the force without it, and can fail to exit the gun on occasion.

Also Controlers are able to store alot of force for example if a door is supposed to open but is blocked by something it will push against it and if the thing blocking the door gets out of the way it almost instantly opens up which alot of people use to do catapults.
2:02 seems like a better idea would be to put a paddle on the top of the spring end and then just retract the pistols and let the spring stretching out launch the projectile

A quick tip: Use the vanilla logic debug tools mod to have some great tools for connecting stuff, like parallel connection tool, N to N connector tool or color-to-color connector
in this game when a material is destructible by spud guns they have force transferred to them before they disappear, so lets say you mount a wall of spud guns, in front of that wall you put a wall of bubble blocks of the same size, now this wall needs an extra block on the side which is the only block that can be attached, and that lock needs to be destroyed before the rest, (switch#1 - spud guns for the wall spud guns and switch#1 - logic - spud gun for that one block) and so now the bigger the wall the more the power, and on that wall you can put anything to be launched
Fyi, not sure if you know this already but the only blocks that can be broken by spudgun or hammer are cardboard bubblewrap and normal glass (Ps: you can use controllers to create tension on a block, if you set a controller to rotate a bearing with a block lets say 180° but then build infront of the block so it cant rotate it builds up tension, if you then remove the blocker the bearing will snap with a lot of force to the rotated ° it was meant to rotate to)
If you want to use pistons to launch, make them go fast with a short distance, it makes them go faster than with a long distance, 3 blocks tends to be a good size
Just so you know, the pistons have more power and speed the lower range you set them too, 1 piston that extends to the maximum at full speed is slower that a piston that extends only 1 block.
That’s why the piston that extended the spud gun in front of the others was freaking out, because it was so fast, it couldn’t settle down at its intended length, and 1 more thing, you can make a logic loop that makes the spud guns fire insanely fast.
Reid, if you put cardboard on a bearing infront of the spudguns then put cardboard on that bearing whatever is attached to the cardboard goes crazy fast and far.
Reid appearently does not know that lower level pistons also have less force. same as more distance on the gives a piston more force then less distance on the same piston.
And this, my friends, is why we can't have Scrap Mechanic public servers. Just imagine, playing on a public survival server, minding your own business when BAM! You randomly get hit in the face with the volatile remnants of some ranom person's failed experiment with enough force to fling you into the stratosphere.
I don't play SM, but I think you should have tried thrusters with sensors acting as the "primer" that the hammer hits to launch them. With my zero SM experience, those might just fly randomly but it seems like a good idea.

Fun fact: the design with the vertical mag is realistic since some guns use gravity to load one of them is the bren Finnish machine gun
the Bren magazine has a feed spring, gravity helps, but the rounds are pushed down by a spring.

You can use spudguns that shoot any destructible block. It will launch anything welded to the destructible block.

as someone with 2600+ hours in scrap mechanic, i can confirm that the Ogre physics engine can be quite unstable
as someone with 6942000+ hours in scrap mechanic, I cannot confirm that the Goblin physics engine can be quite stable

Spud guns can fire once every 2 ticks, so you really dont need 9 sets. You can just have the first ones alternating
