"Red is very hard! Fun for extreme players."
This game predicted the ads for crappy mobile games!
That guy who got hit by the trailer and kept talking as he was laying still on the ground cracked me up. It was like he was just done with all of this and needed a break.
waiting for the day that "the dead speak" shows up in a game as fucking plainly as the starwars references have in this one
Oboeshoes should right the next COD zombies campaign. Come on, Activision-Blizzard-Microsoft, just do it!

Fun fact: this game is a sequel of another game called "area 51" (2005), that its a truly masterpiece
It's so fucking good and it's actually mysterious and plays with the different conspiracies
Sort of. It was supposed to be a reboot but the devs couldn’t decide what they wanted to do so they kinda mashed both ideas together due to time constraints
I remember renting it from Movie Gallery and playing it on OG Xbox and very much enjoying it in high school.
Trying to replay it on PC's such a chore tho. It's freeware, but you need to download a fanmade remaster of it to actually play it, but even then you have to jump through hoops just to get it launched.
@@kakokapolei123 yeah I got stuck trying to limit fps so I could jump the lasers
Oh hell yeah! This is THE late 00s "modern military" shooter.
Not the best one, mind you. The most generic one that combines the cliches of all of them at the same time.
Side note: if you look at the concept art, the developers had a really cool, eerie vision for this game, almost like FEAR crossed with Spec Ops The Line. It got tanked into a generic alien vs military FPS and rushed out the door before the studio collapsed.
I like the sound of that FPS game. Can we still get something like it today? Probably an indie or AA dev. AAA gaming sucks.
@@Gruntvc Yeah it's kinda sad looking at these old games and realizing what could've been. Unfortunately nobody goes for that these days.
@@Gruntvc ugh, you're one of those
That sucks man
@@echodelta2172 we've got a lot of games like that Cherbobylite, the Metro games, etc. There's still out there fps games today.
You haven't played a true 7th gen game until you've experienced Battle : LA.
😄 🤣 that was 1 of those game that was so bad it actually was good in a bizarre way
He has now.
“it’s like playin dodge the redneck!” is quite possibly the greatest line of dialogue i have ever heard. not only in an fps game, not only in a video game, even movies cannot reach the highs that that line has. truly amazing and absolutely unforgettable
White trash kamikaze?
I played this game as a kid and thought it was the best game ever. I am sorry for my past crimes
The council finds this action commited by your past self cringe/not based and sentences you to be made fun of till further notice.
I played it too but I thought it was a sequel to the 2005 game and comparatively this one was far worse and I never finished it
It's okay, we all have games that are awful yet we love them
I think Oboe found the record of my blockbuster/library rental games because he seems to be playing them all in roughly the same order that I did 10 years ago
The way he’s playing this makes it seem so fun, I mean yea it’s an awful game but the concept is so good
I love how you are just playing every game I thought looked cool at gamestop as a kid.
Dead ass I use to see these games on Xbox marketplace and would wanna play them but they didn’t look good enough to buy 😂🙄
frrrrrr
Loving the shovelware playthroughs. It’s truly a lost art in this era of gaming.

Still waiting for him to cover Target Terror on the Wii, that game is a true "masterpiece!" Came to the arcades in 2004, was ported to the Wii in 2008, looks like it is from 1998, and yet still has framerate problems!

but spec ops the line is not crappy
How does this game have more detail in its environments than modern Call of Duty
Activision as a company has told each developer to put in as little effort as possible
it uses unreal engine 3
It runs on Unreal Engine 3, which was considered one of the best graphics engines of that era. Developers who knew how to really optimize it were able to create some amazingly polished and detailed environments and particle effects.
Harvey Smith, lead designer of Dishonored, worked on this game. He was brought in late to salvage the project and left Midway soon after, IIRC. So yeah.
Some termites of a certain species have actually evolved to be filled with acid and just bolt into a group of attacking ants and when the ants rip it open it just explodes acid everywhere essentially splash damage, so that’s the evolutionary benefit of exploding I guess

Man as a kid I was too psyched about the whole Area 51 aspect of the game to notice how awful it truly was 🥲 good memories
haha yeah looking back now I didn't realise how awful it was. Suppose when your young you will just suck up anything video game related.
Area 51 was in it for like 10 minutes
@@papabetadine724 it’s not awful it’s one of the greatest games ever made
@@Ukfairgrounds lmao its true. It is a masterpiece.
This game is literally: Do ya wanna shoot aliens? Because you can shoot some aliens. You can also drive a car too!
And personally, ya know, it knows what it is, and over use of some camera shake and limited enemy variety aside… I don’t hate it.
I like games that let me fight aliens, or demons, or mutant zombies, (Monster Shooters basically) and while it’s atrocious from an objective standpoint, the drab color palette is weirdly nostalgic in a way.
Sammee. It's just so fun, but at the same time not really perfect. It's also nostalgic for me to play it tbh
My step dad growing up really wanted me to get this game back when we had gamefly, they ended up sending me fallout 3 by mistake and I completely forgot about blacksite
Man, I've completely forgotten gamefly. Haven't heard about it in years.
4:36 The dead do speak.
Despite it's flaws, I still have a soft spot for this game. It would've been better if it was (a LOT) more fleshed out and fine tuned.
Seems like a fun campy game with a unique personality and charm to it. Remaster would be funny.
Bro, perfect timing, you saved my life whit this video. I am high as hell and the alternative was playing Doom eternal or the last of us 2, because I can't get titanfall 2 to work and my friends aren't able to play killing Floor 2 with me today
"Here in Area 51 we store our most prized technology like Ace combat 5"
I agree
This was one of the first games i got for the 360 so it always has a softspot for being a simple linier shooter with fun battle sequences, weapons and some gory scifi goodness before the CoD-Clone Iceage we've had ongoing for 15 years at this point
its amazing how it has more environmental destruction than some games today despite being a AA jank fest
It was powered by Unreal Engine 3, which was considered to be one of the best graphics engines of that era, and it was capable of creating some really detailed environments and particle effects.
I like how balanced the review at the end is, It would have been real easy to just spread ass and unload but the whole video has more of a "just having fun with it" feel and the end really secures that feeling!
I had this game when I was younger but the disc would freeze after about level 3 or 4 so I just played the beginning levels over and over… things you do when you are a kid who can’t buy games whenever you want
I remember my mom getting me this game and she literally came home and told me. " the guy at game stop said this game isn't good" but she told him " well he loves that area 51 game" lol.
When this game has more detail than mordern fps games
I feel ya. Try doing this stuff in modern FPS games like Resident Evil Village, CoD, etc. Nice graphics, everything else is weak compared to even AA budget games from the 2000s.
AAA gaming is done.
Bro please play the real Area 51 game from the PS2 era. The one with Marilyn Manson voicing the Grey
Oboe, thank you for playing all these forgotten games. You legit made me want to try some of them
oh hey you uploaded this! still sad that i missed this part of the stream but im glad i get to see it afterwards haha
yooo your content is funny pure greatness its hard to find youtubers with prime golden gamer humor subbed forsure
As a kid getting a small selection of library games with books for years I spent way too much time with this masterpiece and love it to this day
The first time I ever played this my roommate and I had just taken some acid and it was way too intense for me. To be fair I was also blown away by how a microwave works and was fairly certain our cats knew we were tripping balls. The next night after things returned to normal I loaded this game back up and thought to myself “Man…this game was only good on drugs”
I like purple difficulty the best
I loved the first Area 51 game when I was a kid and I was so excited to hear that there would be a sequel. I was massively disappointed by this game once I started playing it. What a major let down and a massive dip in quality from it's predecessor.
Area 51 was a fantastic game. Easily one of my favorite games on xbox.
Love the content dude, keep it uo
Hahaha you got me when you started humming the warthog run theme xD
3:34 holy shit the raindrops bounce off of your gun that's really cool.
I played this game once on a vacation to Jamaica, Thank you for unlocking some old memories.
I thought this game was a sequel of Area 51 :(
Oh my god, I haven't thought of that game since I was in middle school. Hopefully oboshoe plays that one
@@petemcnaughton2482 I played it on the ps2 and it was fun, and I found out about this game thinking about it was the sequel but it was a lie 😂. The game itself doesn't have any adjustable video setting so I barely played it at 5 fps
I was waiting for this one
"Yea you probably did, I mean look at it" killed me :DD
I'll post the 4 main rules of gun safety so everyone knows.
1. Above all, look cool and have fun, you know what you're doing so it's fine
2. You can usually get what you want just by pointing the gun at people, and you can intimidate people by racking the slide or cocking the hammer a bunch and saying threatening things
3. You can guess if a gun is loaded by how heavy it feels, if it's light then it's probably not loaded and safe to play around with
4. Shooting towards sounds is about as good as shooting at things you can actually see, don't worry about what's behind it because you're not aiming for that
0:43 Your Ghost voice always gets me! Lmao
Missed opportunity at the slush section:
NO WEASE THE JUUUICE
i loved this game as a kid. replayed it like 5 years ago and still enjoyed it. it’s like junk food to me
The gag about the realistic nerf gun and looking cool being the key to success and plot armor sent me into orbit XD
Omg. He’s literally slapping the extra magazine that’s blocking the bolt release to his M4. 😂😂😂
As a kid, I'll never forget this game for giving odd numbered achievement points.
The best part about Blockbuster was being able to give games like this a try without much risk.
Dude, seeing that cover art at the start of the game brought back a memory that had been lost to time. My best friend rented this game and I remember thinking the cyborg thing on the front looked super fucking cool, as did the big tentacle crab monster on the back of the box. I don't remember anything about the game, but that monster design was something I immediately recognized after a decade, so I guess they did something well with that.
I like how both MW2 and 3 have a turret section at the first level
Did you know sting said "ayy lmao" in a song once you can look it up
4:28 “BEHOLD, the worlds fastest car, my 2013 Dodge Avenger.”
Brings back some memories this.
Fun fact: you do actually slap the left side of the M4 when reloading, it's where the bolt release is.
the “i got a visual on ayy lmao” killed me
I remember getting this game as a kid for literally 25 cents, and would replay the first level over and over because the disc was too scratched to load up the second level, must've spent 100 hours doing that.
6:33 is no one gonna talk about how good this guy is at making the halo theme tune(to be exact the warthog run version) with his mouth
'which game starts with a turret section in a desert environment?' I first though of Medal of Honor: AA...
I feel old
Opening joke in this video almost transcended comedy itself.
I can only hope someone finally stops you before it’s too late.
voice acting from the villain dude was actually pretty good haha
Oh my gosh I totally forgot this game existed. I played as a kid but could never get past when the aliens came in cause it was too scary 😅 guess I wasn't missing much
This game definitely was taking itself too seriously 😂😂
Holy shit, i just recently remembered this game and the fun i used to have playing it. I just couldn't remember the goddamn name, thanks man.
Closing joke of the video had me screaming.
Not that long ago, my 7 year old nephew was fishing through my old PS3 games and pulled this one out. We got to the part in the intro where you gotta blow a bridge with enemies on it, and your character is literally invincible and my nephew, taking bullets and hip firing dudes in the face said "This game isn't that good." We just went back to playing minecraft...
this is like the first game i played on the 360, i remember vividly being stuck on that last Humvee part.
0:50 as soon as he said that I knew what comparison was coming lol
Fun fact: Harvey Smith was the creative director for this game and its predecessor, right before he designed the Dishonored games.
Suddenly hearing "wake up Ambrose" threw me off waaaay too much
I used to be obsessed with the original demo when it first came out on the 360. I thought the graphics were badass with the rain and the crumbling concrete when you shot at it. Thought it was super gritty and badass hahaha.
"more like area fifty...fun!" Why am I laughing so hard at that terrible pun???? :D
Oh god this unearthed some memories that I didn't know I had
"I've got a visual of ayy lmao" that cracked me up
That halo turret section made me LOL
I still love to play this game to this day. It’s one of my favorites. Yeah it’s not the best but it’s mindless and fun
Man I remember when I first heard of this game as a kid and I thought it was a sequel to the midway area 51 game and got really excited for it.
it had to be
Dude how the heck don't you have more subs your so god damn funny
A couple years before this came out Midway had made another Area 51 game that I remember being decent for the most part. May be some good fun checking that one out.
That was "Area 51" from 2005, and it's a lot better than this one.
0:50 - literally perfectly described the beginning of Spec Ops The Line xD
The first Area 51 on console was an incredible game. I still enjoyed this one back in the day, but it was definitely not as good as the first.
I have this game for the xbox 360. My uncle got it for me for my birthday because "I liked halo" (I do like halo). I genuinely enjoyed this game but none of my friends had ever heard of it. With good reason. It wasn't until years later that I learned how bizarre the story about this game actually is.
This looks like the most 2008 shooter ever made.
i always wanted this game as a kid, even after watching this i still want itlmao
"Our most prized possession ace combat 5 " true on that
oh my fucking god you FINALLY covered this game! Damn I remember playing it back when I was a freshman in highschool. (I remember getting this and Unreal Tournament 3 as christmas presents)

I actually thought the voice clips for the Star Wars reference were edited in by Oboe because I was in disbelief that anyone could use those takes as the final cut 😭
I remember playing this game back in youth day, I got mesmerized by the Graphics
Oh god. I remember the robot walkers. Thanks for unlocking random shit game memories from my childhood every week.
Nobody in the history of the AR15 has ever reloaded one like that. Where did they even get that cursed idea
This is why cod ghosts annihalation was good. It was like a brother to this.
I want to watch you play black now, as this kinda reminded me of it for some reason.
I remember playing the demos for this game.
