The campaign for this game is legit good if you don't try to rush through it. Take your time to do all the unique side missions and it becomes a pretty rounded experience with a fine but fun story. You had less health, no regen, would take limb damage which could cripple you, and you needed a helmet to protect your head because you could be instakilled by a headshot. @@dscorpio1626 Funnily enough, the one-hit-kill headshots actually lead to me dying before I'd even had a chance to move at one point.
I was coming out of a cutscene where the characters had no helmets on, and the mode is actually consistent enough that at the start of gameplay the first thing Reyes would do was put his on. But since this was a section where the cutscene transitioned directly into an active firefight, there was a small window of "gameplay" where he doesn't have one equipped.
Cue a random bullet flying right through his head the moment the cutscene ended, sending me right back to the previous checkpoint.
Fortunately, this both happened very early on in my playthrough (at the start of the first Geneva mission, when Nick and Nora are in the dropship that crashes into the market) and it was somewhere in the middle of a series of restarts (I will readily admit that I'm not the best at games), so I was more amused by the improbability than annoyed by the inconvenience when it happened.

I just couldn't get used to the new dynamics of multiplayer that they incorporated with wall running and everything else. It was starting to feel like they were edging dangerously close to Halo rather than maintaining their own identity.
Now it feels like its taking on a new form of life where it mirrors that of Fortnite and Halo... There's so much sprinting, jumping, sliding, skidding, and bunny hopping that it doesn't feel like CoD back in MW 1-3. Hell, even BOII people called drop shooting as a "tryhard" tactic.
Now its just everywhere... It turns me off to the game's multiplayer now... Because I just don't have time, with a 40 hour work week, to want to learn those kinds of reflexes...
They don't even realize they're killing off an entire generation of gamers who, most of them, having a genuine love and a genuine standard they would like to see CoD return to again (which they did with MW2019, where everything felt whole again).

Why the hell did they get rid of the firing range to test weapons and attachments? Like what even. And the HQ - sure, it was just a way to show off people opening loot crates - but it was one hell of a lot better than "repeat dynamic walk down straight line" menu they've been doing 3 years straight now. It's just releasing with even less and less content now

CoD is going through this repeat phase. Again.
Sledgehammer went back to WW2 because people were making comments about the repetitiveness of how future is becoming the new "fad" for Activision to capitalize on, rather than spreading it out and allowing more creativity across the board.
But this time their creativity feels INCREDIBLY stifled. So much so it almost seems as if the Developers really don't have any control anymore. They just pump out the game because Activision is holding a metaphorical gun to their heads of "Do this or the entire team gets replaced with people who will do this,"
And considering from what I understand, game design and development is an INCREDIBLY competitive career field. So its even worse when you consider that these people are having to make the choice between keeping their jobs and ensuring their families are cared for financially and benefits wise, or sacrifice it on the principles that made the likes of CoD, MoH and BF great in the first place...

You feel like you've fought a war across the solar system slowly taking out the leadership and dangerous people, as one of the few ships left defending Earth, you almost die being spaced, recover, and do many jumps through space and massive battles, finally do the final fight and its just, it's been a day since first surprise attack, don't know why they decided to make the timeline so short

I think the Martians could be rewritten as sort of ‘pseudo heroes’ fighting for independence only and Earth are the true aggressors. Like, in the first scene the Martian admiral could instead say he also cares about his men and spares the Earth troops. The Expanse did a really good job at a Mars - Earth conflict and Templin Institute has a great video detailing the problems of the lore. Either way, RIP E3N, one of my favourite CoD characters ever
