Thanks! Right now I'm running it inshore around our bays, flats, and marshes. I could certainly take it offshore on calmer days, and hope to do that soon.
That's a great platform but my NuCanoe Unlimited with an outboard bracket does 10mph with a 2.5 hp Suzuki and the kayak weighs only 80lbs. The motor only weighs 30 lbs.
That's awesome! Yeah, I imagine weight makes a big difference, as does hull shape for speed. I'm a big guy, so that doesn't help either. I'm satisfied with the speed so far, though I may make some tweaks along the way to improve performance. Thanks for following along!
Yes, I'd love to take it out on the beach on calmer days - it would be perfect to get out to some of the rigs, or at least to the color change. I don't have an exact measurement - my estimate is the motor hangs about 10-12" below the bottom. I'll try to get a measurement next time I take it out.

Thanks SO much for the great experience watching your video with a new Yak/Skiff. I love mine and enjoy trading ideas to rig it. See ya on the water.
I'm glad it was helpful! Get out there and enjoy yours, and I'd love to meet up to fish sometime.
Looks like an excellent upgrade!

How far does the motor hang below the kayak? Will you take it beyond the breakers?
