Nice day on the water. I was thinking about a hydrofoil mounted to the cavitation plate to help get the stern out of the water and possibly make it more stable. Still looking....and also I might try lifting the motor higher with some kind of spacer on the transom. Any ideas? Check out "permatrim" foil.
I went from a 7° pitch to a 6° on the prop, and also went down to the last trim angle (removed the trim pin), and that seemed to do a lot toward bringing the bow down at speed,. In my case, I wouldn't want the motor mounted any higher as I feel it would limit the turning ability, and of course, adding a foil would do the same (and would it fit between the rear sponsons when tilting the motor up?), and I'm not too concerned about how low the stern sits. It was pretty choppy on this last trip, so until I can get it up and running at ideal flat conditions, I really don't have a good idea how much performance I've gained. Using my GPS app, I was hitting 10mph going into the wind with chop, and before I was getting that in flat, calm conditions. Any way you take it, though, this is a darn fun platform to run around on!
Funny enough, I do still enjoy paddling, and have a paddle-specific kayak if I want to scratch that itch. This one, though, is a game-changer for getting out to good fishing spots and back before work! Thanks for following along!

No matter what, it beats the hell out of paddling any day.
