One tip about screenprinting ink is that it tends to be rather thick out of the jar. It's meant to go down on a mixing plate and get worked with a palette knife for a little bit. This is also how you can mix colors together to get custom colors instead of having stuff straight from the jar. A really solid advanced technique is to then have a color blend on the screen that you squeegee, which is a technique that really sets this apart from HTV.
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this comment! I have spent 3 days trying to find out how to deal with my “smalltongue” silk screen ink. It is incredibly thick and I kept adding water to the jar and stirring and stirring but still too thick. So, tomorrows a new day and I’m going to put it on a plate and try to get the right consistency FINALLY. I am hoping that my ink being so thick is the reason my images are so light. Maybe the thicker ink can’t get through the silk screen. Also, I DID look online and could not find anything that gave me any help until I read this comment. Thanks.
Great job Michael. I am a Cricut Maker 3 rookie. I’m so green it’s a wonder the cows don’t eat me. I enjoy your videos, you are an excellent teacher. Thank you!
Great video, I'm especially happy that you explained the circuit logo design part as I'm very hands-on crafty but not so techy. This will give me the confidence to try T-shirt printing myself. Thanks. :)
Michael, I cannot say enough how WONDERFUL you are, especially with all your awesome projects. I just LOVE to see you. You do inspire me to “stay crafty!”
This is a life changer for me because i have some customers they don't like htv. Man i really appreciate you sharing your knowledge may god bless you thanks keep up the good work you got your self a new subscriber. Stay blessed
I just started watching you. Love you. I wish I had you here to help me get get up. So many issues. Keep doing what your doing and can’t wait for the next video.
Just followed you on TikTok! Thank you so much for helping me figure out how to do this. I'm trying to take over the screen printing needs for my fiancé's business and I was LOST until I started watching your videos. I can't tell you how much you've helped. Thank you again!
I love this way of designing tshirts. I have been doing it the old way and it was getting kind of boring. But I love the way that your shirt came out. I am yet to try it. I pray for the best and that my shirt will be as beautiful as your shirt. I am a follower now and I am very excited to know I am going to be learning new things and ways to use my Cricut machine. Keep it coming.
I will watch different videos for technics but when it comes time to actually make something, I always return to Mr. Crafty Pants. Your instructions are always easy to follow and on point! Thank you!
This was very well done, Michael made what could have been complicated -put into simple steps. I hope he does another in the future with several colors using the same screen by taping over the screen/design in different places. If you plan to use the design many times - like every year, keep the frame and screen as is so you don’t have to make another each year. Yes, you’re out the cost of one screen, but it may be worth it on several holiday designs if done frequently.
Mr. Pants, thanks for the tutorial. I have an order for repetitive prints, and I'm going to give this a try since it is less expensive because I already have a cricut and heatpress. I will keep you posted on the outcome.
I love all of your training videos. You are very thorough, easy to follow, and although you have explained some steps on other videos you always sound enthusiastic and make no assumption we have seen a previous training video. I feel more confident with getting the supplies and attempting this. As always, we appreciate You!
Mr Crafty Pants this is by far the best video of doing screen printing with your vinyl cutter that I have seen. Thanks! I also have a question, have you ever made your own screen if you can't buy one?
I never knew that screen printing could be so easy. I really like the way you explain how to do these projects. You do it so well that I actually believe I can do that too, even as a first timer. I’ve already started getting prices for supplies. Thank you!
I took silkscreening classes in college but didn't think I could replicate it without the developer, darkroom, power hose, and exposure machine. I can't believe I didn't think of this!
I just love your personality, and I had learned a lot from you. Each time I have a question a about a technique, you are my to go person 🤗. Thank you so much.
Had major fail with screen printing today. We were told to use cardboard in between layers of shirt. Didn't work out. The cardstock idea is great as you have a more firmer surface to do the screen printing on. Thank you so much for that suggestion.
Thanks for the step by step on this process. You have taken the fear out of trying this. I will be treating myself to some screens and ink for Mothers Day.
I just started watch you, but you show me step by step what to do. I start watching others that start like you do of step by step, but then the more videos that are done by them they think you know what they are doing and you don’t or you haven’t used that technique in a long time and need it step by step. That you for your consistency in showing others how to do things. Do you ever do Scan and Cut videos.
Got a screen printing kit for Christmas was so happy to find that both you and DIYAlex have videos. It should make the journey informative and I know you both will be helpful.
I read the title and thought, "I'm not going to be able to do this." Wow! You only need a screen, and screen printing ink! I'm excited to try this task! Thank you so much for enlightening me about screen printing! You are extraordinary!
OBSESSED!!!!! Just tried this and I don’t think I’ll ever use htv again 😳 I feel like this method looks way more professional like something you’d buy at a store!
I just watched like 4 videos back to back lol you are awesome! Definitely saving me money on a few different projects I want to do for my currrent business and new business I'm starting! So glad I came across your channel and finding out about the cricut and all its wonders!
I like your videos. You say y'all often, where are you from? I like your channel. I just don't like a crazy notification feed. I really love your honesty and promotion of other people when you learn from their channels!! You're an awesome person! Keep up the positive vibes, maybe it will spread and people wont steal other ideas, rather they share them with their own twist while acknowledging the original creator, artist, etc. Admirable!! If only there were more people who support other channels! I mean without anything to gain.
