One thing Im quiet confused on is how you don't do push ups for fitness anymore, and Im sure you can pass the test without being able to do even 1, so do you still do push ups within the training (phase 1) or not ??
Hi Gabriel. Yes, you will do lots of push ups in training! My advice would be to do them (even if they are not in the actual assessment) as good upper body strength is key for a soldier.
I have been slacking on my running and I’m super nervous as my assessment is on the 15th March, just over a month away. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful.
I think a good boost to your confidence will be getting yourself into a simple routine. Doesn't have to be anything too strenuous. For me just having some structure to my preparations puts me at ease and helps me identify where my strengths are and which areas need work. Hope it goes well.
Another flaw you can exploit: 100% of soldiers wear boots pretty much all the time it seems. Therefore 100% of soldiers have weak feet and also may be highly dependant upon their boots. Get them to constantly pound their feet and keep them wet and diseased...
Head over to my Instagram and there's stuff on there that can help. But, as the saying goes, make your easy runs easy and your hard runs hard. Essentially, when running longer distances, run at a slower pace. Something more comfortable
Do bodyweight exercises like push ups and pull ups. Leave the weights alone, you don't want to put loads of muscle on as you'll find it a lot harder when you run. You can buy a pull up bar online for like £10 and it'll help massively.
@@MF_anime4life i recommend a UA-cam channel called Iron Wolf. The routines he does are perfect for people joining the military. You'll gain a ton of strength and endurance following his stuff.
