stretford reds right, I’ve been working out a lot for the last few weeks and I’ve seen a big improvement in my strength, which is present when lifting weights, doing push ups and sit ups. I’ve also been going for jogs after my breakfast and I can now do around 3km, might not be much but it’s a big improvement and is only getting better with each day! :)
@@georgiamuir9477 3K regularly is a good start. The army selection test is a mile and half so that is a similar distance. I'd carry on what you are doing. Don't do too much or you might stop in a few weeks. I find doing less but sustaining it over years is more rewarding because lets be honest, it can be boring and if you do too much you might stop. Throw in exercises like squats and do a longer run every so often. Joining the army cadets might be a decent shout as well for some basic experience
Is it me or does this test look somewhat weak? I know it's just a fitness test to confirm that a recruit meets the minimum fitness standard to begin entry but wtf????
Might be because of the higher prevalence of overweight and obese youth. It's hard to find fit youth. It's easier to train them up once they are in instead of not even letting them start. The war machine needs body's.
british army fell short of man power under recruitment has meant its 7000 short of manpower even after cuts that were made....british army is no longer valued s under equiped and under manned and lost 100s of years of tradion to be politically correct about getting new officers from poor backgrounds as opposed to the normal boarding schools that had kept britain elite...
My fastest 1.5 was 8 minutes 40 and my best 20 meter Beep was slightly under 13 12/8 I think. 1.5 mile is 9 laps around a football field Tips 6 laps at a fast pace 3 laps best effort If your running on flat road like army lads do generally when you see the last few hundred meters you belt It! My only tips for the beep test If they still do It Is make it harder for yourself when you train at home. Measure out a few meters extra (makes you work harder for every level 22/26 meters. One thing they do I think In the Court System Is they let you get to a certain level For example the prisons service and police force Is a 15m one but they let you get to level 7 or 8 first then stop everyone for 5 minutes then do the actual test. Some Public Services let you get tired before you do the tests. For the army mainly It's a slow jog and a slow walk for about a mile from what I've read and seen! Then they ask you to do the run! You can make It harder for yourself when you train at home before you go to the PFT Center. Running cross country up and down hill uses alot more fitness then normal flat road running! Measuring a few meters more when you do beep tests at home u can buy apps ect. Do fell running and jog places up and downhill (ben nevis, snowdonia, your local moors!).
Just remember everyone else will be too. Main thing to get your head around is being away from home. When its hard crack a joke, be the person who's looking out for others. If someone's struggling help them. Best advice i can give. Good luck 😎
Thanks FZ, biking I do a fair amount , but it hasn't made that much improvement on me, a lot of your routine is new to me but ill have someone to assist when im in session .many thanks D.

Do it don't wait!
Purple Aki see people don’t speak to or ignore people like you because your clearly a negative person, i can do what i want to do and if you don’t like it, don’t comment...simple MATE
@@AshSmash981 Haha treat yourself youngen. When you are sick of being treated like a child with zero control over your life just remember what ive said. Those Sunday nights lad... you will understand once you are in
Purple Aki “Yougen”, mate i’m old enough (18+) to make my own decisions, and if they are wrong i’ll learn from my mistakes, but im not taking advice from you, you’ve gone about it in like worst way, because you’ve probably had a bad experience doesn’t mean everyone else will,so take your negativity somewhere else n f**** off 😘
Really good video showed me some of the stuff to expect , since am thinking about joining the army in 2020
Same
Same here bruh...is 25yrs cool age to join???
@@denneloheneba7489 ofcourse why would it matter
@Amy Thomas: Amy, maybe you should watch the do's and dont's video as the PTI hit the nail on its head by saying "If words are offending you, you really need to reassess what line of work you've chosen "...Also, it's not up to Fabziy to teach somebody how to conduct themselves on social media, it's common sense! in particular if you want to join the Army you should know how to conduct yourself. And if simple words on a social media platform have the power to discourage the (potential) recruits in their training then we revert back to the wise words of that PTI "If words offending you you should reconsider the career path you've chosen!" , simple as.
words people should take on not just in army life but in civi life as well, offence cn not be given, only taken by people that are not robust enough to deal with everyday life
Well put Nat 💪🏻
simon illsley It cannot be said often enough 😂. I see you got the same name as that PTI, so u seem to have good sense too 😬👍🏽
Nat Nice I am the PTI
3:51 that guy has a chest like Arnold
And legs like a fucking starvation victim..... who cares what your chest does if your legs can't even hold you up properly 🤣
Steven Haskell and the legs of a fairy 😂
very informative . Preparing for my selection on 1st october
@-KracN- thank you mate
Joining Harrogate in September to hopefully end up joining the paras. Really loving these videos!
Have u passed Prac yet?
@@danielbaliga1487 No, Harrogate is an army foundation college. Once I've done 49 weeks there I'll go into Para training and do prac, p coy etc.
Thanks for watching also good luck on your course.
when’s your start date mate? i’ve got the 15 th but others i went to assessment with have the 23 rd
@@Smiffyplays I assume you're going for a role with a trade? Because infantry lads are going in on the 22nd. That's my start date too.
i was there in the 1980s with the royal county of berkshire army cadet force pl 5 cippenham c coy, duke of edinburghs royal regiment. loved every moment. and not much has changed, part from some new builds.
I was on a cadet camp in literally that first barrack 12:32
How did you find it? If all of my information comes back right il be doing it in the near future
Joe it was really good but strenuous
Always look forward to your videos great work will definitely share👍👍✔
Hi nila❤
I have my run in two days looking forward running next to you 😎
Thanks for watching, looking forward for that!
Kenny how is it going I want to join
😁 Did my basic at Catterick in 1977(old git)...wish our pti had been so cuddly and polite!
I was there in 1971, RAC. Lots of beasting😂😂😂
I love that it’s not how good u r. It’s always bettering ur self if ur first great but the 13th person who is about to vomit and doing 110% is deemed better !
Wow, was here 18 years ago, seems like yesterday. gym and parade square haven't changed. PTIs not swearing 2 inchs from your face is different. i hated heartbreak hill, especially doing it backwards
I’m about to turn 15. Although I still have a few years I’ve been working on my fitness so that when it’s my time I’m ready! 💪
If you become a fan of running and regularly run 10ks etc for the next couple of years then it would make it so much easier.
WarDaddy nonce how? So preparing to train a few years in advance so I’m in fitter shape and more prepared...hmmm that sure does seem like it’ll cause the standards to stoop
@@georgiamuir9477 Best thing to do. How prepared would you be if you were used to running 10ks and then doing walks with weights in a back pack. Ignore him
stretford reds right, I’ve been working out a lot for the last few weeks and I’ve seen a big improvement in my strength, which is present when lifting weights, doing push ups and sit ups.
Getting a little look of what to expect just applied a few days ago
Is it me or does this test look somewhat weak? I know it's just a fitness test to confirm that a recruit meets the minimum fitness standard to begin entry but wtf????
yeah i agree but you have to be fit to stay in, not necessarily to get in
Might be because of the higher prevalence of overweight and obese youth. It's hard to find fit youth. It's easier to train them up once they are in instead of not even letting them start. The war machine needs body's.
John coughlan it doesn’t matter what level there at they want to join and are ready to serve for the military, that should be enough
John coughlan they BECOME soldiers it doesn’t happen overnight. You can’t expect a new recruit to be at military standard straight away.
british army fell short of man power under recruitment has meant its 7000 short of manpower even after cuts that were made....british army is no longer valued s under equiped and under manned and lost 100s of years of tradion to be politically correct about getting new officers from poor backgrounds as opposed to the normal boarding schools that had kept britain elite...
My fastest 1.5 was 8 minutes 40 and my best 20 meter Beep was slightly under 13 12/8 I think.
1.5 mile is 9 laps around a football field
Tips
6 laps at a fast pace
3 laps best effort
If your running on flat road like army lads do generally when you see the last few hundred meters you belt It!
My only tips for the beep test If they still do It Is make it harder for yourself when you train at home.
Measure out a few meters extra (makes you work harder for every level 22/26 meters.
One thing they do I think In the Court System Is they let you get to a certain level
For example the prisons service and police force Is a 15m one but they let you get to level 7 or 8 first then stop everyone for 5 minutes then do the actual test.
As always good video. Thanks for these man 👍
Thanks for your support appreciated.
I've recently subscribed and your vids are the only thing keeping me entertained during lockdown. Keep up the good videos
I bet he's just being "gentle" with the new entrants until they're accepted for basic training!
The PTI's have adjusted their technique for the overweight snowflake generation.. or is it just those black pants that make their arses look big ?
Jonathan P ok boomer
Bet your fatter then a trout mate
Jonathan P piss off Jonathan
Thanks for posting these, I love your videos, I start at Pirbright beginning of September and I'm super nervous
Just remember everyone else will be too. Main thing to get your head around is being away from home.
When its hard crack a joke, be the person who's looking out for others.
If someone's struggling help them.
Best advice i can give.
Good luck 😎
I go for my assessments on the 28th of August, I can’t wait 💯

How long it took for assessment date ??

I'm really learning from this New Fitness Test!!!
Hi henry💕
13:36 would have been beasted within a inch of his life for not trying until he could see the finish line. What an absolute whopper
We used to have 2 PT vest a red one and a white one. the white one was worn when we had PT in the Gym and that was for us to lay on the floor on our backs and push ourselves around on our backs cleaning the floor - the white PT vest were not so white afterwards. The next day we would have to show a lovely white vest again. We never had any type of washing machines or dryers - yep it was great fun.

I can't believe how out of shape people are today. They're all below mid twenties yet are all out of shape and gassing!
Like honestly...i'm a chubby guy and i started working out about two months now or so. Its really shocking how easy it is to be overweight nowadays....

More standing and sitting than my time at pirbright lol
See the girls sprinting at the end. Good effort.
Thank you! I have my assessment on the 24th

Very polite PTI's, never had that at Woolwich in my basic. A few things not to change, bad PTI moustache and the phrase 'Standby, go'...those words were usually followed by a beasting. 🤣
Had my assessment here 1st October, passed with an A grade, start basic in Catterick in February! Anyone else starting around that time?

I really want to join the Army, have done for many years but I got rejected because I broke my hip 5-6 years ago, sucks. Still enjoy watching military videos though
Sorry to hear it Connor. My advice mate, join the Royal Air Force.
Deplorable D I dont have any GCSE's so I dont think I could do much in the RAF. Ill have a look into it though, why not
@@conorprice4229 Conor, they still need drivers, cooks and what not in the RAF. Once your in, the sky is the limit mate. All the services do a good job of training you if you are ambitious and want to join other branches... provided you are a good operator, keep your head screwed on and polish your boots.
Deplorable D Would my hip situation affect my medical like it did with the army?
Good videos fabz🔥

They seem too polite with their instructions
a b probs cus they’re being filmed they have to do all the formalities that they might not normally do if they weren’t being filmed.
It’s called respect
It's the army, not some Marxist community college quiche making course! How should they be with their instructors ffs???
TL Strength & Conditioning instructions. Not instructors
I’m not British but it is interesting seeing how other countries do their military training.
This lot should try the boarding school I went to.
Where’d you go?
