Having served a full 22 years i had the opportunity to see many changes being introduced into the training syllabus and importantly the standard of kit being raised each time ., i commend this series and its content which has the right balance to capture its audience in You tube which in my mind, not only honestly informs its viewers who may be considering a career in the British Army , but also those like my self who have served and who are keeping up with the times...well done.
The one thing I always tell soldiers in my units and it’s even in the SA80 training pamphlet is you’re not supposed to fully clean the weapon in the field and make it look shiny and clean. You’re not even supposed to take the working parts out in the field unless they’re rusting. Just remove excess carbon and rust, oil and that’s it
Worst part of it all lad haha half way when all the tests were due the rifle inspection I was shitting it for but lucky I smashed my rifle out and it was gleaming only for it to get thrashed on sect attacks a few hours later 😂😭

I was just about to go to glencose to do the assessment centre and I got an email saying the strength of the glass in my glasses was to strong. I was meant to be going to AFC Harrogate in September, but now I have to wait until I’m 18 get laser eye surgery then re apply when I’m 19 in 2023. I’m wanting to join the royal regiment of fusiliers. Till then I am going to attend mpct Newcastle to make sure I’m ready. The next 3 years need to hurry along.
Hi Josh. @robert has pretty much answered it for me! The reason that recruits may be back squadded is so that they can have the opportunity to re-learn it and get to the standard required.
@@brentmichelson5899 is it fuck as long as the rifle isn't made ready which is won't be it'll be loaded or unloaded then it's no issue what so ever if the rifle was made ready then it would be an issue but also they have bfas attached which will stop the bullets firing out.

I remember one of my fijian mate cooked one of them green and red packet biscuits from the ration box,and he was waiting for about an hour solid to get cooked,until sgt came and ask him what you having for dinner and he was like no sgt im just waiting for it to get cooked,and this haxi cooker is pissing me off,and when sgt looked in the mashtin,he burst out laughing and tell all the commanders what trauma he had seen😂😂😂😂 FIJIANS FIRST TIME IN ENGLAND,everyone was calling him biscuit hahahahahah mental😂😂😂😂😂😂he even used all the haxi block hahahahah,a bit of morale,hes funny as well and when sgt ask him why you cooking a packet of biscuit,he said no sgt its a fijian thing you wont understand,and that time inbetweeners was very popular so everyone gives a double thumps up to him shouting BISCUIT FRIEEEENNDSS👍👍😂😂and he was like fuck off,laughing away fijian stereotype,hahaha when everytime i bring back that story to him he was like EXCUSE MY SOLIDNESS PAL😂😂😂😂his out now working as a close protection in iraq

I’m planning on applying for an AOSS this September. Hopefully I’ll be able to join the AAC or an Infantry regiment. Could you give any advice for the process of going through initial interviews and then Westbury, hopefully if I make it that far. Cheers
Thanks for the comment. Glad you're enjoying it! There is a lot of information online that can prepare you for AOSB. Some top advice I was given was to not dwell on something once you have already done it (no matter how you feel you did). Just move on to the next task with a fresh mind. Find out what will be involved and that will help you with your preparation - good luck!

When out on deployment, you obviously receive a bonus which I think is £10,000? But whilst on your deployment, do you still receive your monthly payment of I believe around £1,000 aswell as deployment bonus?
Hi Charlie, the bonus you receive will depend on the length of the deployment on each operation. From experience, it is approx. £5k for a 6 month tour. However, you receive your basic pay each month you are deployed (as normal) and on top of this you will get paid extra for being deployed. You can also get paid more for being deployed in a certain country. And the more time away you do whilst serving, you get paid more each day!

I was meant to be booked in for my assessment centre but medical issue came up from the past but I don't have now, I now need to prove that I don't. went to my gp and never got a response after the third time they said if I need to prove this medical issue that I dont and it isn't in my medical history that I need to sort it privately they won't help me now I'm stuck don't know what to do any suggestions
@@remdawg5792 yeah i contacted the recruitment centre and they told me to write my appeal and explain my gp aren't gonna help so when they get the letter they are gonna contact me and my gp to explain what I need but if they still refuse then they told me to switch

It makes me a bit nervous though seeing all these men and buff guys in the army while I am one of the smallest in my school year and look like a kid. Is it realistic to aim to be a paratrooper at 17? Not at all. There is a medical centre that recruits with an injury or illness can go to. They will get seen by a doctor and then given what they need. You will not have to go back to the start (or a certain point) unless you miss a significant amount of training
I’d say stretcher with dummy about 60-70kg, about 4-5km maybe. Couldn’t tell where they were at properly and the day sacks / Burgans probably weigh about 15-25kg max.

Mate in all honesty you could get hit by a bus crossing the road tomorrow. Having said that there are regiments and roles that are pretty safe such as being a clerk in the army.

You always have someone there who will just talk about that one word “Danger”. I personally understand the price of joining the army. You risk your life. I acknowledge the possibility of death. Theyve been unloaded at the end of the exercise, so they think its over, and then they get a surprise casualty. Its to keep it a surprise so they don't know its coming
There are multiple reasons why recruits will leave the platoon. It could be due to injury, missing too much training or because they might need to revisit a certain part they didn't get right the first time. This happens throughout the course but is not something to be concerned about. It is only ever done to ensure that each recruit completes training and is at the required standard

2 months? I just about can run a pass time in the army, when i started 2 months prior i was 250 pounds and running for a min before i had to stop, 2k time non existant.

That’s one thing I don’t miss from training was the admin test, never been so anxious getting a rifle inspected in my life, glad I passed it.

tried switching GP mate? I had something similar and i went to a different GP and they were much more accommodating.

After the long weekend you have around week 6. Less inspections after that too

People drop out from the start, it’s not a requirement to kick people out in training
There are multiple reasons why recruits will leave the platoon. It could be due to injury, missing too much training or because they might need to revisit a certain part they didn't get right the first time. This happens throughout the course but is not something to be concerned about. It is only ever done to ensure that each recruit completes training and is at the required standard

14 stone cant run far really want to join the army used to be really fit 2 years ago if I try hard how long you think it will take me to get to decent standard?
2 months? I just about can run a pass time in the army, when i started 2 months prior i was 250 pounds and running for a min before i had to stop, 2k time non existant.
