I'm getting two totally conflicting stories. Some are saying totally ignore them, others are saying talk to them so much they get annoyed. I don't know what to believe. All I known is when i boxed Nan in behind jail bars she would occasionally teleport out. We then started talking to her so much she'd get annoyed once a day for several days. So far nothing has worked.

@@setht1194 Correlation is not causation. Just because you hit those villagers and they decided to leave soon after doesn't mean it was because of what you did. The games have literally never functioned like that.
@@setht1194 In actuality, no, it does nothing. Infact, sometimes engaging with them makes them stay EVEN LONGER. You just happened to get lucky. I'm not sure what vids you've been watching but it's been mentioned everywhere that hitting your islanders does nothing towards making them move. The ones that DO say it works are uploaders influenced by misguided commentors.

Check out the Action replay PowerSave for amiibo. You'll probably need some computer skills to activate any villager you want. plus other amiibo for other games too. ultimate, mk8, breath of the wild, etc. Can be found on Amazon, gamestop, ebay, etc.
Probably at least one person on Ebay that'll sell you custom amiibo cards. That is if you dont wanna make them yourself

I've found actually talking to the villager you dont want every day and making friends with them actually makes them want to leave faster.

the best way to get rid of a villager is to talk to them so many times in a row that they get a black swirl above their head. i did that once yesterday and once earlier today and the villager just asked me to move out :)

You don't understand the GREAT dissappoinment I had when I finally got the game and hated my starter villagers
A TIP if you are at the point where you are buying plots of land for 10,000 bells, save up nook points before you build it. When you decide to build (build first) take a lot of island trips and pick out who you want. It leaves more control than waiting on campsite.
That's what I'm going to do! I did it with my first three residents, too. It's cool because there's still an element of surprise, not knowing who you're going to get on the mystery Islands, and at the same time you can pick and choose.
I’m at 44,000 nook miles because that’s the same strategy I’m using.
I did that and wasted a lot of miles since I didn’t like anyone I saw
that’s what i did. i had 35,000 nook miles and i went island hopping for my favorite villager but still no sight of her and i have 2000 nook miles left....
That's exactly what I did. It netted me Zucker and Stitches, but I have not gotten anyone else I like so far and I am out of miles.

I'm almost entirely convinced it's random. One of my favorite villagers, Coco (whom I talk to everyday, multiple times), just asked to leave, while villagers I have ignored haven't had the thought bubble appear. I was also extremely mean to one of the villagers and he hasn't asked to leave either.
Therefore, I think if you befriend them, the thought bubble appears more frequently, and after that it's just RNG on what they want to do. I'll keep testing this 'ignore' theory for another month and see where it goes.

They’re probably wording it that way because of the two ways these dialogues can go.
My tip is I keep talking to the villager until their is a black swirl thing and I teleport 2-3 days and keep doing it until they wanna move it usually works

So, whenever a new villager comes to my island (campsite), the same thing keeps happening. The want to move here, but unsure. They play this card game, if I win, they’ll agree to move in. But I haven’t once been able to move out a villager I wanted, they tell me who wants to move, instead of me selecting the villager I want out.. any tips? I currently have a 3-star island rating if that’s a factor.

You have to use the amibo if you want a guaranteed leave that wont move out someone else. The rest only increases the chance, and ignoring them is nutral.
Got Rex as my first camper, had to take him in. He left within 4 days. Even though Mac hung out with him all day every day. Was glad.

You don't get to pick the villager always if your at capacity. They'll choose on for you to swap sometimes. Just went through this with Clay. And he will only swap with portia.
