Thank god for comments. Ive been sitting on a island for half an hour and got nothin. So I came here to see if anyone else had the same problem and yeah... Thank you for letting people know!
There are a few beetles in july/august that are from 8,000 to 12,000 bells as well. They spawn on palm trees and this is how I’ve gotten a lot of my bells
Sneak up on the tarantulas. Hold down A when you have the net out and slowly creep up on the spider. Tarantulas will hiss at you but won’t attack you if you stop. Slowly approach the tarantula and when it hisses, stop until it stops hissing and then continue. You can get as close as you need to to catch it without it attacking you.
Easier way, create a square shaped pattern of holes, find tarantula, run to holes and jump into middle of the pattern(which should be left without a hole), tarantula keeps running in a circle, you can get it, but it can’t get you
Sonario648 Helicopter noises intensifies as a man in a yellow suit with a spider logo on the chest area runs full speed at you with his army of tarantulas.
You can actually go near a tarantula and when it raises it's legs you stay still and when it puts them down you stop. Then you can get close enough to catch without them moving. ^^ (a way to do it without traps)
3:17 - "You don't want it to be raining because the rock bugs will spawn." 7:40 - "You want it to be raining because then only tarantulas will spawn and other bugs won't."
Quick re-cap 1. Go to an island between 7pm and 4am (better if raining) 2. Cut all trees, rocks and flowers down including stumps (No need for weeds) 3. Get rid or scare away bugs (including wharf roaches) on the island, except the Tarantula obviously 4. Catch Tarantulas 5. Get rich
Dropping weeds all over the rocks seems to prevent the wharf roaches from spawning. I've had them spawn on the rocks after doing that one time, but outside of that, it's worked great. Thinking I may have left a spot open or something when that happened.

Mole Crickets, ruin this every time for me. I am terrible at digging them up so not even Bamboo island works for me. Add in Water Bugs and nope, I give up.
This is similar to the method I developed a while ago, when I first found out about goliath beetles. I would clear out everything except for palm trees, and grind out beetles, stags, scorpions and tarantulas. It took longer cause lots of things can spawn on the palm trees, but it worked for me. This is EXTREMELY hard to do in April. Worked like a charm yesterday and now with the spawn rate of water bugs. It’s not worth it unless you time travel back to March.
Hey, creep up on them slowly and stop moving every time they raise their legs. It's a bit more time consuming but less anxiety then having them chase you. I find I sometimes dont hit the holes straight on and dont jump over them in time.
Yup. Water bugs were so annoying today, I was able to do it yesterday pretty well but still had to juggle water bugs constantly but weren’t AS bad as today’s island. I’d say wait till you hit an island without a pond which do exist I know bamboo island doesn’t have a pond
Read this if you want to make money in ACNH So, some people are saying this doesn’t work because it’s April, but it still WORKS! It is harder to do because of water bugs, but if you catch them you can swap them out for tarantulas when your inventory is full. It will work on mostly any island, accept for one that I found. If the island has two layers, dig holes on every space on the second layer. Eventually tarantulas will spawn. Hope this was helpful! Edit: Now it’s May, but the same thing happens.
The secret world of Arr.i.etty__ true, but if you don’t wanna time skip my idea was the alternative. Sorry if that sounded rude I wasn’t trying to be 😬
You don’t really use durability when digging/ covering a hole The only time you will use durability is when you hit rocks, dig stuff up and plant flowers etc.
Here's how my attempt went: >Saw video >Seemed simple enough >Buy Nook Miles ticket to attempt this >Follow steps >Find tarantula >It falls in the water >I don't find another tarantula
You really have to look for the random bugs that occupy the tarantula spawns, I've found that after cleaning an island there could only be 2, at max 3 bugs around at any time, if those are the little roaches on the rocks or anything but tarantulas they won't spawn so you'll have to find and scare them away, sometimes there might also still be some bugs on the ground on a higher level so you'll need to check with a ladder occasionally as well
There's an island that has a ring of water inside it surrounding more land which only spawns tarantulas dubbed "tarantula island" basically an rng fest to get there tho
That's why it's easier to create artificial tarantula island yourself by uprooting trees and clear the land. I made 200k yesterday. Certain island doesn't work though like bamboo island and I heard some can only find water bugs spawning
It’s easier in a small island. But the technique works. I tried it on my island and that was hard. Because the river is long and it splits into two. I caught three sturgeons.
Ya’ll I found an island last night that had a three tier river system with water falls that was giving me all high priced fish! The only thing the ocean was producing was sea bass and olive flounder, so when fish weren’t in the river I’d run around the island scaring away the sea bass. In the river the only low priced fish it was producing was black bass, so I would just toss those back in. It was producing pike, soft-shelled turtles, snapping turtles, saddled bichir, arowana, and arapaima! I just kept throwing fish back until I only had arowana and arapaima. The island also had hybrid flowers I didn’t have yet, so I pulled some of those up but even with those I ended up making 300k!
bigspicychicken darn ☹️ I’m a little sad I chose the Southern Hemisphere though. I realized during Christmas it will be summer and not snowing 😢 (I’m from the US). Also currently the Southern Hemisphere doesn’t have tarantulas, we have scorpions. I did try clearing an island too see if scorpions will spawn and it does work! However there doesn’t seem to be a scorpion island. I’ve gone to mystery islands around 20-30 times and nothing ☹️
Idk if it’s been said anywhere else here: where I live it’s currently scorpion season no tarantulas. Catch as many as you can but DO NOT sell them! Hold on to them in storage and sell them to Flick when he comes. He’ll pay you 150% more for them and you get even more money! And with fish, sell them to CJ when he comes to your island. If you’re on an island with water be sure to catch and release the water bugs; they really slow down the spawn rate of the scorpions/tarantulas.
This is a LOT of work with regard to seasonal, location, and daily time constraints, not to mention that you’re using Nook Miles to do it. A much simpler and faster method (also without using time travel, glitches, etc.) that yields more bells is farming pumpkins. I built up over 40 million bells pretty quickly by farming pumpkins on my island. ZERO risks involved, either. Trapping tarantulas is VERY rewarding, though! Thanks for the video work. 👍
I did this on an island that an animal lived on so he was just watching me deforest his home and destroy and take all the minerals he needed to survive and then I ditched him
I was lucky enough to find a tarantula island while Flick was on my island, so when I got back and sold them to him... He gave me 228,000 bells total ;_;
Kha Han Dang I nearly filled my pocket, still saved spaces for my tools. So yeah, that's a darn good amount for not even a full inventory of tarantulas lol
TIP: When sneaking up to a tarantula it will look at you and rise it legs, when you see it jump it means that you can hit it with your net. best way to not get bitten or miss as long as you are facing it and sneaking. happy hunting!
If you play red light green light it works too. Red/stop when they raise their legs and green/go when they go back down until you are able to catch it at a comfortable distance. I usually only take out my net until I see it too ( to avoid getting accidentally bit). If you have the tool wheel it's a lot easier :D
I would say maybe save your sturgeons and tarantulas, or any expensive bugs/fish for flick and cj. I caught 13 sturgeons early in my game and saved them all and got 195k instead of 130k by selling them to cj. Also for new players, if you catch a fish or bug and you really like it, save 3 of them bc you can get 3d sculptures of them made by flick/cj who gives them to flick lmao . Its so disappointing to sell rare creatures and then flick shows up and you cant find them again in the same day . Just save 3 of the ones you like the most until flick/cj shows up on your island and you can get a sculpture in color . I got a goldfish sculpted and im waiting to get an emperor butterfly sculpted . Also i disagree w the blathers point. Give one tarantula to blathers. If youve caught over 30 you can give away one, the museum is actually really amazing and its much more involved than the critterpedia . Personally i donate the first of everything to blathers, he wont take duplicates of things unless you give them all at once
i found a way better method on this exact island and all the other ones. Clear the island like normal but leave the coconut trees. I filled my inventory with beetles that sell for 10k each and it works way faster
Drew Davis they are Giant Stag & Scarab Beetle but if your playing normal and not time jumping, you can’t get them yet. They don’t come out until July.
I have another strategy. Everyday do a couple of fishing/diving sessions until you get at least 100,000 bells per day. When the day is over, put all of your bells in the ABD and never take them out until you want to pay off your load, etc. It may not be fast, but it's easy. I'm currently at 582,000 bells with a loan of 700,000 bells, and it's only been three days. The reason there's more bells is because I've been getting a bit more diving sessions in, etc.
@@madcutynot4utho Until you fill your inventory. You don't have to aim for rare sea creatures, one dive with a full inventory will give you 20-30k, and one dive usually lasts me 20 or so minutes. You could also just do fishing but in my experience, it gives less bells since most fish are worth around 200 bells whereas the least profitable sea creature is worth 500 bells (but you usually get sea creatures that are worth 1k each, so it's definitely worth a dive)
My method: stream your first time playing the game and some really nice player will come in, ask you to open your gate, and then proceed to give you 2 million bells as well as a crown worth 1,200,00 bells (alongside all the golden tools to give you a crap ton of Nook miles and a bunch of other resources). Thank you to this really nice community, that really sped up my game and got to the really fun stuff by a lot 😂
Me: **watches without having animal crossing** Also me: yes I will do this Edit: so people when they get a lot of likes say: “OMG THANKS!” But then I’m here, and is glad, so I hope I’m doing this tight Edit 2: I meant right
In case you want to move the flowers w/o worrying about inventory, just plant them in the sand off of the grass - it'll create more clear grass patches where tarantulas can spawn. Also pulling weeds increases spawns as well.
@@tylerwolcott5602 However, if you bring a trash can, brining it back wastes a spot that could be used for tarantulas (so it might end up being a waste of bells/resources).
If the tarantulas are stuck on those types of terrain where they might jump into the water, then just do the staggered method of approaching them. Slowly move in, wait until they rear up on you and then stop. When they turn back around, move forward a bit until they rear up again--continue this until you are in range to net them!
Every time you send a scorpion or tarantula to leathers okay I know I spent all these years listening to classes just tell you a whole report card of your school but Lord you can own this museum
"For today's method, you'll need 2,000 Nook Miles to get started." **Looks at my Nook Miles** This is a sad, sad day for me. (Like, bro my entire reply section is like a Discord chat. Please, do this somewhere else, dudes.)
One way to simplify the process of clearing the island is to put a trash can in your pockets before you go. That way you can just throw away all the flowers and stuff instead of finding a place to set or replant everything. Trash cans are one of those things you seem to constantly get from balloon presents and shaking trees. So keep a few in your inventory for times when you plan on cleaning up in remote locations.
Me: hey blathers take this Gives blathers a butterfly Blathers: *mental break down in tears explaining what a common butterfly does* Brings him a tarantula Blathers:... Blather has died Blather's ghost will serve you xd
simple.city11 My boyfriend got the actual tarantula island on like the 2nd or 3rd day of playing. He absolutely hates spiders and it was the funniest thing. But it’s such an easy way to make bells without time jumping.
This method sends chills down my spine, just watching the tarantulas walking around and hissing at me. Sometimes, it felt like there was something crawling up my arm while I was playing, but there was nothing there lol. 😂
simple.city11 I’m scared of roaches crawling from across the room, and I would *actually* scream and run out of the house if it was a spider, but I’m not scared of this?
"why would my axe break? of course it wo..." the word *WOOD* appears as you say it - glorious. I go through axes & fishing poles like there's no tomorrow :/
And also remember, Tarantulas will spawn in different month cycles, like how scorpions may only spawn at November and more. So if you done all of this and don’t see any tarantulas try looking in the critter Wikipedia in your ZL button to see if they’ll spawn in your month zone and don’t be afraid to time-travel (also bell vouchers are also a good option for bells to sell at nooks cranny with Timmy and Tommy, only costing 500 tickets and getting 9000 bells if you sell three of them)
is it just me, or i went to an island and did everything he said in the video, except the island was COVERED in fireflies and mosquitos so only ONE tarantula spawned for me in an hour
Fireflies only spawn where there is freshwater, so go to a bamboo island since there is no freshwater. Tiger beetles and mosquitoes still spawn, but they don't seem to effect the scorpion spawn rate, at least for me. You'll still have to deal with the warf roaches though. Hope this helps!
@@tiffanysenin2010 you can't pick the island, but you have a 10% chance of going to bamboo island which is the highest percentage so it shouldn't take you too long to find one
While watching this i spawned on my very first tarantula island. Good thing I'm a pro at catching these things bc there's like 5 already Edit: 8 spiders caught
@Reed Ryan basically, when you make a tarantula island, normally only tarantulas, warf roaches and tiger beetles will spawn. The giant water bugs are annoying af because they spawn a lot. The basic mechanic is that only two different types of bugs can be spawned at once. Say one tarantula and one wharf Roach. When you run around and scare away the bugs are not looking for, you can force tarantulas to spawn. the water bugs are just an extra thing that spawns and makes it just a little bit harder and longer for the method to work. Yeah the farm still works it just makes it really slow
@@MagickPizza hey, so if you get the bamboo island, it works like a dream, if you've got loads of miles racked up, just go back and forth till you get a good island with little to no ponds, and it should be good
Update: they only work on the bamboo islands now. They will not work on 3 level islands. Sturgeon fish are no longer in season but to get a better spawn rate, chase out ALL the fish in the ocean and river.

Sneak up on the tarantulas. Hold down A when you have the net out and slowly creep up on the spider. Tarantulas will hiss at you but won’t attack you if you stop. Slowly approach the tarantula and when it hisses, stop until it stops hissing and then continue. You can get as close as you need to to catch it without it attacking you.
zyon, I was looking for this comment.
Or when the moment it jumps release A, there's a pretty generous time frame within the jump to be able to catch it
Hi Deku!
i like to miss so they charge at you then immediately just swing the net again to catch them
Easier way, create a square shaped pattern of holes, find tarantula, run to holes and jump into middle of the pattern(which should be left without a hole), tarantula keeps running in a circle, you can get it, but it can’t get you

You can actually go near a tarantula and when it raises it's legs you stay still and when it puts them down you stop. Then you can get close enough to catch without them moving. ^^ (a way to do it without traps)

1. Go to an island between 7pm and 4am (better if raining)
2. Cut all trees, rocks and flowers down including stumps (No need for weeds)
3. Get rid or scare away bugs (including wharf roaches) on the island, except the Tarantula obviously
4. Catch Tarantulas
5. Get rich
Dropping weeds all over the rocks seems to prevent the wharf roaches from spawning. I've had them spawn on the rocks after doing that one time, but outside of that, it's worked great. Thinking I may have left a spot open or something when that happened.

So, some people are saying this doesn’t work because it’s April, but it still WORKS!

You really have to look for the random bugs that occupy the tarantula spawns, I've found that after cleaning an island there could only be 2, at max 3 bugs around at any time, if those are the little roaches on the rocks or anything but tarantulas they won't spawn so you'll have to find and scare them away, sometimes there might also still be some bugs on the ground on a higher level so you'll need to check with a ladder occasionally as well
Quad_Plex yeah I was able to run around the island and scare away any other bugs but sadly I only find one tarantula :(
Quad_Plex you can dig holes on the higher level to prevent bug spawns from ever going up there
Bro sometimes it be like that. I've taken to calling tarantulas 'hari kari' (mispronunciation of harakiri) for this very reason lol

There's an island that has a ring of water inside it surrounding more land which only spawns tarantulas dubbed "tarantula island" basically an rng fest to get there tho

To get sturgeon you have to get rid of all smaller fish in the river and then the sturgeon will spawn at the mouth of the river.
It’s easier in a small island. But the technique works. I tried it on my island and that was hard. Because the river is long and it splits into two. I caught three sturgeons.
Itsasigrid just like red dead redemption 2, i love it
Ya’ll I found an island last night that had a three tier river system with water falls that was giving me all high priced fish!
Theres turtles? Wtf lucky, how.
PROUDxRUSHxDENIER yes! I decided to play on the Southern Hemisphere so that’s probably why!
bigspicychicken darn ☹️ I’m a little sad I chose the Southern Hemisphere though. I realized during Christmas it will be summer and not snowing 😢 (I’m from the US). However there doesn’t seem to be a scorpion island. I’ve gone to mystery islands around 20-30 times and nothing ☹️
HOW?! I need this!
It seems you got the rare fish island
Idk if it’s been said anywhere else here: where I live it’s currently scorpion season no tarantulas. Catch as many as you can but DO NOT sell them! Hold on to them in storage and sell them to Flick when he comes. He’ll pay you 150% more for them and you get even more money! And with fish, sell them to CJ when he comes to your island. If you’re on an island with water be sure to catch and release the water bugs; they really slow down the spawn rate of the scorpions/tarantulas.
@@alexlang5390 yes, sorry
Is there a specific place that I should release the water bugs so that they don't just go back or keep spawning?
This is a LOT of work with regard to seasonal, location, and daily time constraints, not to mention that you’re using Nook Miles to do it. A much simpler and faster method (also without using time travel, glitches, etc.) that yields more bells is farming pumpkins. I built up over 40 million bells pretty quickly by farming pumpkins on my island. ZERO risks involved, either. Trapping tarantulas is VERY rewarding, though!
Thanks for the video work. 👍
I did this on an island that an animal lived on so he was just watching me deforest his home and destroy and take all the minerals he needed to survive and then I ditched him
Oh wow-
I was lucky enough to find a tarantula island while Flick was on my island, so when I got back and sold them to him...
He gave me 228,000 bells total ;_;
Just farm tarantulas.
If you got 200 tarantulas/scorpions you net like 2.4 million bells if you sell them to flick since he takes 12k bells for each
how many tarantulas did you get
Kha Han Dang I nearly filled my pocket, still saved spaces for my tools. So yeah, that's a darn good amount for not even a full inventory of tarantulas lol
I’m doing the same, and I’m like, “screw my tools, I’ll make more” and threw out everything except my net.
So lucky .-.
Big house .-.
Bells .-.
It works even with the latest update ?
What's the name?
Drew Davis they are Giant Stag & Scarab Beetle but if your playing normal and not time jumping, you can’t get them yet. They don’t come out until July.
Water beetles?
Northern hemisphere doesn’t have those yet
I have another strategy. Everyday do a couple of fishing/diving sessions until you get at least 100,000 bells per day. When the day is over, put all of your bells in the ABD and never take them out until you want to pay off your load, etc. It may not be fast, but it's easy. I'm currently at 582,000 bells with a loan of 700,000 bells, and it's only been three days. The reason there's more bells is because I've been getting a bit more diving sessions in, etc.
I made a huge farm with a non native fruit.I get 70,500 dollars every time I sell all of the oranges.I have like 47 trees.
Here the thing how long do you mean by “fishing / diving sessions”?
@@madcutynot4utho Until you fill your inventory. You don't have to aim for rare sea creatures, one dive with a full inventory will give you 20-30k, and one dive usually lasts me 20 or so minutes. You could also just do fishing but in my experience, it gives less bells since most fish are worth around 200 bells whereas the least profitable sea creature is worth 500 bells (but you usually get sea creatures that are worth 1k each, so it's definitely worth a dive)
I hate diving because I’m a super impatient person, but if I find good things then it’s worth the effort and bells

This method is so scary to me but i've been doing it a lot lately! It's so hard for people with arachnophobia....but I need the bells 😭
simple.city11
My boyfriend got the actual tarantula island on like the 2nd or 3rd day of playing.
You are really strong!Good Job!
simple.city11 I’m scared of roaches crawling from across the room, and I would *actually* scream and run out of the house if it was a spider, but I’m not scared of this?
I’m scared of spiders too, but it’s funny because tarantulas in real life are harmless really to humans, but are so scary in Animal Crossing lol xD
10:17 im not sure if this works of mystery islands but I keep a trash can or waste bin in your pockets so i can throw out the flowers
Now just wait until Flick comes to town and they sell for 12k each instead ;) plus, Flick is supa awesome.
Mesa needs some flick
I have a bunch of spiders im just waiting to sell to him lol
who is flick?
Kxmx xx event character. Comes every week, for hes a chameleon
hey pal you blowin’ from stupid town? does he come at a certain part? i just updated the basic house (198,000 loan) and still haven’t seen him
"why would my axe break? of course it wo..." the word *WOOD* appears as you say it - glorious. I go through axes & fishing poles like there's no tomorrow :/
nunnybunny same
"You're a pretty little butterfly! I feel like you're worth some money!"
-me everytime Flick visits.
You’re a pretty little butterfly *heavy breathing*
I love when they visit. I got 24,000 bells just by catching 2 lines worth of inventory space to whatever his name is. I forgot 😭
And also remember, Tarantulas will spawn in different month cycles, like how scorpions may only spawn at November and more. So if you done all of this and don’t see any tarantulas try looking in the critter Wikipedia in your ZL button to see if they’ll spawn in your month zone and don’t be afraid to time-travel (also bell vouchers are also a good option for bells to sell at nooks cranny with Timmy and Tommy, only costing 500 tickets and getting 9000 bells if you sell three of them)
is it just me, or i went to an island and did everything he said in the video, except the island was COVERED in fireflies and mosquitos so only ONE tarantula spawned for me in an hour
in june fireflys and mozzies spawn without a spawn location. do it in a different month
Fireflies only spawn where there is freshwater, so go to a bamboo island since there is no freshwater. Tiger beetles and mosquitoes still spawn, but they don't seem to effect the scorpion spawn rate, at least for me. You'll still have to deal with the warf roaches though.
Hope this helps!
xX Cherry Blossom Xx you can choose what island you go to with nook mile tickets?! Am I missing something?! Sorry super new to this
@@tiffanysenin2010 you can't pick the island, but you have a 10% chance of going to bamboo island which is the highest percentage so it shouldn't take you too long to find one
I didn’t get any 😭
“Of course my axe would break...” lol laughs in Animal Crossing
i did this last night when Flick was on my island & he takes 12k each tarantula & he offered me 468,000 bells for a full inventory of them 😊
While watching this i spawned on my very first tarantula island. Good thing I'm a pro at catching these things bc there's like 5 already
Edit: 8 spiders caught
Hello from the future. Giant Water Bugs have ruined the Tarantula Method.
S L A P P Y i spent like 4 hours on one island and u have to catch all the giant water bugs its so annoying i only got like 5 tarantulas
@@MagickPizza hey, so if you get the bamboo island, it works like a dream, if you've got loads of miles racked up, just go back and forth till you get a good island with little to no ponds, and it should be good
S L A P P Y i only have 8000 😭
@@MagickPizza good luck, friendo. Get them login bonuses, do challenges or daily tasks
I remember the first time I saw a tarantula I was like, “hey you! Wanna go in my net?”
It: Yeets itself at me
Me: AHHHAHAHA
Update: they only work on the bamboo islands now. They will not work on 3 level islands. Sturgeon fish are no longer in season but to get a better spawn rate, chase out ALL the fish in the ocean and river.
Another update ontop of ur update, tarantulas are out of season, and for some reason scorpions are hell to spawn
