Dan, I really like this review, it's no nonsense, straight to the point, all points covered concisely, and you're not trying to be clever or a comedian (mentioning no names, Jack Scarlett of Fully Charged!!). Keep up the good work!!
@@ItsDanLatham It was so refreshing to have someone just get to the review, not fanny about in the beginning trying to be witty and making Clarkson-esque quips!! You just got on with the review no filler and it was concise and honest! I can't ask for more than that!! Kudos.
@@SenorSol very kind words - I like to be thorough but to the point and honest. I think a lot of reviews can be too short and miss key elements of living with the car day to day, but likewise I don’t want to drone on with unnecessary commentary - it’s nice to hear I’m getting the balance right!
I agree about the brakes, what I do is put the brake regen on level 1 and in the infotainment system turn on the sport braking from comfort, makes a massive difference. Also the paddle shift to turn on the regen braking can be held like a foot brake to slow the car down try it.
Good review for the older model, although you do talk accurately about the new model spec. Hopefully you will get an example of the new model to review as most of your issues with the car are old model specific.
@@pholloway999 they’ve done a good job of listening to feedback - I’ve just reviewed the facelift Kia EV6 - that video is coming next week so hopefully I can get hold of a new 5 as well !
Enjoyed this review, I’ve ordered a RWD Ultimate 84 Ioniq 5 supposed to be arriving end of January. I waited as I really like the listed changes for this model. Better centre console, dark surround for the screens instead of white and of course the rear windscreen wiper. I'll be sad to see my 2016 SantaFe go but 80% of our journey's all under 25 miles makes sense to switch to electric. Wife not 100% about the looks yet but I’m sure she'll love it 🤞
you prefer the ioniq 6....eeewww, hope your not making money with your taste choices :P / Well i like the style of it because and i think it's refreshing look they tried something and they nailed it. Kinda bord with other model they pretty much look the same. and the interior it's way above other cars, spacious and clean. We have a polestar 2 we were looking for another EV. Overall i think we will go for the ioniq 5 it's an all in one choice it got pretty much everything right. Tesla model y : quality build is meh, suspension, paint and interior quality is really not there. Mach-e : okay i like it but not as spacious and battery lack some point like heat pump Ev6 : i don't like the interior and the lack of panoramic roof it's a no from me equinox : was not sure when i tried it i don't know why just did not felt it. ID4 : really bad review for early years so i did not bother Solterra and Bz4x : same problem/poor battery Kona : did not even think about it Ariya : did not liked it Audi Q4 E-tron : good car but higher price for less but nothing to say there We are still thinking about it but we might make a choice in the next days...
@@thedaeron3877 EV6 I really like to be fair, I have the facelift one in a few weeks for review. I agree though it’s nice to have something a little bit different! Good luck with the decision.

The only thing I don't like about mine is there's no rear windscreen wipers on the back. But on the 24 model they've put them on
