At the moment, Southern Ontario summer, we are getting 450 - 490 km on our Ioniq 5 Ultimate AWD. VERY pleased with the car. We had a Hyundai Kona EV for 10 months and we put 48,000km on it and it was a fantastic car. Not a single issue to return to the dealer for. When an I5 came available to us we jumped at the opportunity. Hyundai has done an excellent job and we couldn't be more pleased. We average about 60,000km/year on our vehicles so we tend to break them in pretty quickly and I have to say in my 55+ years of driving the I5 is one of the nicest cars we have owned! Cheers! Mike 🇨🇦
At the moment, Scottish summer, we’re getting rain 🌧 Grrrrrr 🙁 The I5 does feel well built and well put together with good materials. Credit to Hyundai. I’m trying to convince the owner of that car to go for the new N performance model next 😎 Enjoy your summer in the I5 👍
To those who have the AWD and getting less range, don't drive in i-pedal. i-pedal forces the front motor on at all times, to help with more regen when braking, but the amount of power the car uses to accelerate with both motors far outweighs any benefits that i-pedal can regenerate. If you put the car in Eco or Normal and not i-pedal, you should get quite a bit more range. Of course, if you're driving in the winter where safety is concerned, then keep i-pedal on for the AWD. I am getting about 310-320 miles in mine and it's also AWD and I do use the AC now that it is summer here.
@@midlifemotors5050 I drive the same model, almost all the time, in auto regen and normal driving modes - and use the left paddle for extra braking /coming to a halt. Only 5.5k miles in 6 months but now regularly achieving high threes and often see 4.1 m/kWh. I rarely use the sport mode, but enjoy the car. ‘Normal’ driving mode loses very few miles of range, compared to the ‘eco’ option, and retains the AWD, when needed, but mostly only uses rear wheel drive. A much better compromise, I think, than i-pedal unless in stop-go town traffic. I don’t often drive at the 70mph limit (or above), which will use far more energy than cruising a few mph under. I’ve not seen much above 300 miles range. I only need to use the left paddle (or the foot pedal if the steering wheel position is awkward). Works for me with level 3 regen. I don’t particularly try to keep up with single carriageway traffic - one usually catches up with traffic at the next roundabout/junction anyway.
@@djnoy842 Yes, but having it on regen brake level 3 is also very aggressive too, it just won't come to a complete stop like ipedal. So in terms of the brakes lasting longer between ipedal and regen level 3, not really. You can also pull the left paddle to come to a complete stop using regen only too.
Hi from Australia. I have the brother Genesis GV60 and have driven 15000k in 9 months. Best car I’ve ever owned. You never tire of the torque or sheer effortless of driving. It is not a sports car but does out a smile on your face. Absolutely no faults so far - smooth fast quiet and super comfy ! I love it ! And I leave the regen braking at ‘1’. Cheers Steve
Hi Steve. Yeah the effortless drive and instant acceleration hit do make you smile, no doubt. I was also impressed with the quality of the Hyundai, fair play to them for that. Keep enjoying your car 👍 and all the best from us here in sunny Scotland 😎
I just bought one, exacly the same colour and AWD. Range is a little short but never worries me. I will be fitting a tow bar to it and see how it does hauling my toys around🎉
My neighbour has the 77kw rwd version and is easily getting 4.4mpkwh with mixed driving. 3mpkwh is very low, probably due to the awd and xtra performance. The newer versions have a revised suspension and rides better.
Think that car spends most of its time on the motorway, hence the high miles and lower mpkwh. Still an impressive bit of kit by Hyundai though, fair play to them 👍
And what have you told as new that 1000 others youtubers dint tell us? THE title says daily driven for a one years. What about usual problems and how to solve them? Rattling doors, hatch...vibrations, things that not working properly.
Hyundai did a software update to limit the number of times the car "wakes up" in response to information requests, some 3rd party apps were waking the computer up 100's of times a day, draining the 12v, they also changed parameters for when the main battery recharges the 12v, so this issue should be 'fixed' for all cars that have current software updates.
Mainly motorway tbh + enjoy feeling the instant torque. It replaced a Golf R so the owner does use the performance. Never tire of that instant acceleration 😄
@@midlifemotors5050 Actually, you’re an influencer, so I would urge you to put up a disclaimer when you talk about your range or efficiency. People are already skittish about range. @@midlifemotors5050 the Ioniq 5 will charge very fast if you have access to 350kw chargers (15-18 minutes from 30-80% charge), but EV's are best if you can also charge at home.
Probably not. Cheaper rates at night will always encourage off-peak charging - which is a big plus for the UK grid operation. More likely is that the peak usage times will become even more expensive, at least in the shorter term.
Don't worry, i'm good at faffing about 😊 TBH you're right, for everyday use leave the regen on, it makes perfect sense. I was just messing about with the car, seeing how everything works/feels. Pulling the paddles made me feel like I was doing something!! To easy these EVs.
@@BioniqBob What do you mean? I leave mine in auto regen (level 3) and only use the brake when needing extra braking or the paddle is not in a suitable position for my left hand. The paddle will stop the vehicle and it will remain stationary - as long as the foot is removed from the brake pedal, before releasing the paddle (ie paddle is over-ridden by the brake pedal operation).
@@BioniqBob Whenever possible, in traffic, I use the adaptive cruise control (but not to come a halt, by itself, in a traffic queue - it does not leave sufficient space between vehicles for safety, in that mode). Something a bit different this time. Have you gone EV yet? Anytime soon?

Interesting, cheers 🍻
Enjoyed the car, even though it's not really my cup of tea. Fair play to Hyundai though, they've obviously tried hard with the IONIQ.
Is it got a heat pump ?
No, wasn’t available at the time. Would get one now though
It is a nice looking car. Very modern. Rather stick with the Polo GTI though 😉
100%. No way we'd change the Polo for that. It's way too big anyway tbh, huge car.
