- Flowers don't always need to be bright and cheerful to be beautiful. Sometimes dried, old flowers convey feelings that fresh ones never could. Come paint these remnants of last year's blooms with me!

Yess, Jane! Come through with the moody spring paintings! This is why I follow. You're the only artist to inject a "darker" painting any time of year. I wish there were more of them, but I get that bright light paintings appeal to the masses.
What she said.
Thank you both so much 💛💛💛
Yes!!! I love Jane’s style and her taste in art. Her work is amazing and right up my alley! I love”darker” type stuff!!
While Jane has a wonderful teaching style that I admire and can easily follow as a beginner, it's the "moody" paintings that I come for. That is what strikes my soul.
Thank you Jane, I hope you never stop making tutorials of dark and moody paintings. Because I'll never be done with my Art journey and I'll never stop watching you teach.
Please do an Edgar Allen Poe series: Rivals and Doppelgänger's; The Dead and the Living; The Gothic Style. Thank you for your videos!

@@PaintingwithJane ♥️ Thank you Jane, I truly appreciate it!!! Good news, I'm going to the beach in Florida in 3 weeks with Katie and Josie!! Katie is halfway through her pregnancy and we thought it would be nice to spend some time together and with little Josie.. I need this trip more than imaginable, hopefully I can figure things out and get some peace.. We are taking our paints too so I may not ever come home... Lol
hey jane - when are you going to get more #12 cloud brushes in?
Yup, trying to be perfect I messed up the water horizon line in a watercolor I was working on. So I put it aside, painted a canvas panel black and did some easy hydrangeas in acrylics using Q tips. It came out so well and was so relaxing, let my brain work out the fix for the
watercolor. I'm definitely framing the hydrangeas. Lol.
See! Let that perfection go! 💛
@@PaintingwithJane 😉🤗💙
i like Your painting
Thank you, Mark!
I love this painting but the cloud/scuffle brush is just not my thing. what other technique or brush has anyone used for this smokey effect?
You are great 💗
I am blank at the moment for some years now cannot seem to push myself to start painting again
It’s alarming is it normal?
Love your paintings And you are a great teacher
Im the same way.... ♥️👋🏽😊
Cristy I feel really blocked as if I have never painted
I guess we have to watch more support each other and start even few strokes
I’m visiting a friend in Italy so I’m trying to decide to paint something for her so we need to motivate ourselves
It's totally normal! Don't let it get you down, just figure out what helps you push past it. It's different for everyone. I actually have a blog post on my website about this very thing. Read it and see if it helps you! www.paintingwithjane.com
Lo:e this!
hi, love it...can you tell me if your brush for the moody black/white shy was dry or did u wet it before you started?
Nice effect.
Sad she didn't answer ... but look at her listing she used liquid acrylic paint colors, that's more wet in itself.
Thank you, Gloria! I almost always use this brush dry.
thanks I'll look again
@@ulrikevolke7651
Thanks for the reply Jane that helped a lot. You inspire me during the long winter months.
@@PaintingwithJane
Lobe your hair
Would it help with the background if the canvas is sanded interesting technique, tfs
I feel like it would make the paint look more streaky. I really like the tooth and texture of the canvas for this technique. I've tried it on smoother canvases, but didn't get very good results. Thank you!
