Thank you Jane. I have learned more from watching you with your quiet gentle approach and personal comments here and there than I did with many $$$ of group lessons I've tried. And no...to sound redundant "I never get bored". It is a pleasure to watch you slowly teach. Perhaps I'm a bit slow, but I need to watch you do something over and over again until I get it. I can't paint in the same room as my computer so watching it many times I can walk away and have it drilled into my mind and feel comfortable trying it without hearing your soothing voice. Your a real treat.

PS- I never use black, I use Payne’s Grey for my black. I have Mars Black, but in most all of my paintings except the Ravens, I use Payne’s Grey because it’s softer.

hello jane, thank you for sharing your gift, beautiful. also a tip, try turning your palette wetting spray bottle upside down when you spray the bit that you are going to use, each & every time you use it. that will clear the straw and nozzle so there shouldn't be a clog next use. good luck & thanks for sharing your time & space w/us.

I love these magnolias! I used to have this tree, not a leaf in sight.. but Loaded with flowers. They're also called, Japanese magnolia.

I have a Japanese saucer magnolia tree out front of our house . I’m amazed at how some flowers had down while others are up. Love when it is bloom . Don’t like the mess

I woke up this morning at 4am crying from backpain, so just by watching you paint this beautiful Magnolia (kinda looks like big cherryblossoms to me, but I never seen a magnolia so..) almost made me forget the pain!

You look so pretty with the little piggies today, they suit you and it really comes across how relaxed you are in this video so the painting is pretty too! I’m miffed that I missed the live show but I had to go and buy groceries because eating acrylic paint can’t be good for you! This is definitely one I’m going to try out once I’ve finished the one from last week, thankfully I’m taking meds for the nerve pain now so I can sit at my desk comfortably for the first time in a week 😊

I know it sounds trite, but practice, practice, practice! Trust me, the more you do it, the better and better you'll be. Trust yourself. Don't feel like you're searching for "THE RIGHT COLOR!" Pick colors that make you happy. I challenge you to make color charts. Not only are they fun, but you will learn an incredible amount. Also, I have a video on Instagram about how I go about picking colors for a painting. Maybe my thought process will help you out. Just dig in. Color mixing is honestly my very favorite part of painting. It's very fulfilling 💛

We are praying for miracles. Shes two weeks early and so tiny and beautiful. I cried all day yesterday. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers sweet friend ♥️

My magnolia tree has white flowers, but in the spring they are amazing to look at anyway.
Is this a good way to make clouds and sky scenes? I’m going to try to paint this tomorrow using gouache. It will be my first experience with gouache. Im traveling for the next 3 weeks. I picked up a traveling gouache set and haven’t tried it. I think this is the perfect painting for it. Wish me luck!!

This is my second painting with you.
My issue is about the scrubbing, I can't get the cloud the way you have it, it is gorgeous 😍 I can't find cloud brushes on your website, where can I find them?

Hi- when you say scrubbing is that the same as scrubbling?
Jane is hope that's tempered glass your holding,glass out of a frame can shatter very easily,I would put a cross of tape at the back, pretty painting.
lol! Thank you for your concern. Normally I leave it laying flat when I use it. I was actually considering doing something to the back of it to make it opaque, so that will probably do the same 😊
I use the back of a drawing pad it's gray it's very firm,tape it around the edges again.

If I were to do a pink and a white flower - how would I add highlight/depth to the white flower?
Jane I have Blick's Student Paints. Should I put a coat under my back ground? Light Blue or Gray? Pale Yellow? I don't know if you will see this but my plan is to put a very pale blue base coat on so I will not have any white canvas showing....as this distresses me. Thank you for your tutorials!
