- I didn't have a whole lot of time this week, but I really wanted to make a video for you. So I set my timer for 2 hours and started painting with very little idea where I was going. I hope you enjoy it!!

I'm painting on a 12x16in canvas board, but you can use any size/shape/type of canvas or paper that you like. You can paint it black with black paint or gesso. Whatever works for you. I used black gesso. amzn.to/3It5ijy

Love that it reminds me of our old barn at home. My 87 yr old dad is the only one left living down on the old farm! All 10 of us had lived there at one time.

This was sooooo amazing! I love the way you paint doors. You have this way of using light to make the darkness of the doorway look deep and alive, if that makes sense.
I laughed when I saw that you were doing a house in the woods because I had posted that image of the house in the woods with the quote in the comment section of one of your studies! Ha!
Also, don't tell anyone but, I used to run around outside pretending I was Mia Sara in Legend. I always wondered how Tim Curry could hold his head up with those huge horns. Such a good movie!

I'm wondering if you ever wet your brush before putting it in the paint? Thank you Jane, I have missed you...I'm very new to painting and trying to get up the nerve to try a few of your videos. I watched you a couple of years ago and became frustrated with my canvas. Finally I would walk away for a day or two and come back and say that's not tooooo bad, lol I'm grateful for you sharing your time, knowledge and talent...Love and hugs!!!

Hell Jane, I love your work, I’ve learned so much from you. I just wanted to ask you, do I have to know how to draw to be a good painter?
I'm not Jane, but you absolutely don't have to be good at drawing to be good at painting. It helps, but not necessary. I suck at drawing, like really bad. But I paint rather well with instruction and practice.
