glad to see you get into archery on this channel! I've been shooting a bow since I was 7 and shot the buck that is my profile picture with a bow. keep it up and remember to focus a lot on form and the correct way to shoot! the accuracy will always follow!
You have entered the bow zone and you will never leave. Eventually you will fall down the rabbit hole and you will buy a 1500 dollar bow. MARK MY WORD 😂
OMG!!!! I remember at the archery range told me that when I was 12, I really liked archery but it wasn't applying to me at the time, but I haven't shot in over 10 years and I think I'm going to get into it again. I think it might become me haha!
Try move the string stop out so at rest it is just touching, will reduce the sound, You seem to hunch your front shoulder up, maybe try extending your draw length or just relax during the shot, Ive shot for a while and have been through a lot of bows. Hope you enjoy the sport and hope the advice helps
I have the stinger x and the surge and the infinity. I have a brute force lite on the way. I shoot the stinger x more than all the other bows combined. It is a blast to shoot. Good luck and good shooting.
Bought a Bear Cruzer $329 RTH. Great fun. Great exercise in body awareness. Focus. Step into the backyard and throw half a dozen arrows downrange in 15 min. or spend a whole morning dialing the tightest group.
I've always been more of a traditional guy myself, but I'm thinking about starting with compound. And I don't entirely know why, but I'm partial to having a gray one.
Since I live in Salt Lake and got into Archery like 4 years ago. I am glad this video got suggested to me. Because I'm always looking for shops on the wasatch front. And I know now never to go to this shop. The set up on that bow was atrocious! The dam string stop wasn't adjusted properly. Plus, if your new to shooting a bow. The shop should not just sale you a bow. They should take time to instruct you on proper from. If they are not doing that. You might as well go to Cabelas, or sportsmans warehouse. Glad your in the sport now. Hope to see you at some 3d shoots. Enjoy this addiction.. no, it's not cheaper then firearms hahah
Couldn't agree more. I have Elite and Obsession bows, but my SB-1 is simply great. I have it at a DL of 26 inches and a DW of 46.5 lbs and it shoots like a dream. I doesn't have to sold back wall of my other bows, but it exceeds in other areas. It is the bow I enjoy shooting the most. In fact, I'm maybe gonna sell the other bows and just have the SB-1.
I’ve hunted with a gun my entire life, I’ve tried my best to hunt just bout anything I can. But I’ve felt like things have been too easy, so I’m starting to look into getting a compound bow to hunt with, it’ll also give me more time to hunt as-well because the state I’ve come from has the bow season last longer than modern gun.
newbie here, what is the purpose of that string/rubber band about 2/3s up the bow? When he has the bow drawn back it's pulled tight, when it's not drawn back it has a lot of slack and shakes around. Thanks.
in uk looking for mid range compound £500-ish looked at this wone liked it but cant be delivered to my location does anyone know a good bow that is accesible to uk thx
FUCK that shit gave me anxiety! I did that on a #35 bow with 75% let off, I accidentally let go of the string on my way to put it the string back half way through, just where the let off begins and I heard a loud ass slap on my bow. No visible damages on my bow, thank goodness but I still need to get it checked out!
Don't buy a "starter bow" get the flagship model... Even last year's flagship, used, will be light-years ahead of a "starter bow" and about the same price. 😉👍
Thomassino88 #13 look at the Diamond Infinite edge Pro. Or the Diamond Sb-1. Then you'll have money left over for a decent release and decent Arrows. DONT GO CHEAP ON YOUR RELEASE. $60-80 is a good price point.
Thomassino88 #13 also I should add. Go to a reputable shop in your area. The sport will be more enjoyable, if it is set up the right way the first time. Then you can slowly learn to do mantainace on your own.
Thanks. I most buy online from US or UK. Then I will save some money also. I live in norway and there isn't a lot of shop's here. Can u recommend a shop online?
I know this is a month old comment but I'll give it a shot. You'll probably have to pay import fees but I'd try Amazon first, they appear to have a decent selection and they seem to ship to Norway. Brownell's ,Cabella's and other larger retailers should ship most non-firearm related items to as long as your country doesn't have any local restrictions. Take my advice with a grain of salt, I'm still looking for my first bow and I live state side so IDK how shipping overseas works.
Can I use this I am 6ft 2 in. when calculating my draw length by measuring my total wingspan and dividing by 2.5 it says I need a bow that is 70" - 72".
JimmyDean1992 go to a shop to get a proper fit. The measure and divide by 2.5 is just a starting point. Each individual bow will then need a fine tweaking to get it right on your length. ALWAYS go to a reputable shop. A well tuned and tweaked bow, will make a huge difference in enjoyment.
Rsl4Life Rsl4Life I found a friend of a friend who has done it for a very long time that recommended a bow that should be within my length. As soon as I get it I will be running off to the shop to get it tuned. I went with a 2018 PSE stinger extreme. Got it for $298 brand.. new...😦
that 70 -72 inches referes to recurve bow length... doesnt apply to compound bows. You can tune your own bow, its not difficult to learn and that way you will know your kit and not rely on a shop who will charge you for something that is pretty simple.
Oh cool, so instead of breaking the specs down and explaining them (like you _say_ you did at the end of the video), what we have is a 6 minute advertisement for this _particular_ bow. -1
Brett Koch I have one. They are. No silencers come stock and that quiver he has is a heap. It’s not helping. Also looks like his stop needs to be adjusted.
Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older. But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.
Just a tip for the future....if you are posting a video where people need to concentrate on the information you are providing please do not put music in the background...this was unwatchable for me and i really tried
That thing`s $300 to $450 man are you Rothschild`s son or something dude. My first compound costs $64 AND I still have it. But then your a yankee rich guy. Shopkeeper saw you coming buddy.

jr birdman i bought a blackout ss for $120 XD
jr birdman first bow was a carbon icon didn't like it, just shot the hyperforce next to the triax and ordered the triax
nah, my hog killer pellet gun will out do your compound, and for a whole lot less, and way cheaper.
Me with my first bow

Cool video as always. I'm thinking about getting into bow shooting. My 7 year old got a kids bow with soft tips darts and we have a blast with it.
Anyone else had to rewind just to make sure this isn't Eric Koston?
Most ppl on this channel probably dont know who that is. Lol
Man swear he does
Looked like Derek Muller (Veritasium) to me but with a hat.
@@williamvancamp2920 I was saying the same thing haha next thing we know Steve Barra is gonna tre flip in the background hahah
I thought it was Mike shinoda
Nice to know I have a place to learn about archery, I look forward to the info ahead. Thanks!

There's not even a bow in this video..
Pulling back the string with no arrow is incredibly dangerous. Especially cuz you were holding with only two fingers. 2:35
I wanna get into bow hunting looks fun. Anyone can pull the trigger but i think archery takes skill
The pse stinger is a single cam. It makes a lot of difference on the draw.

I am in the Salt Lake area too. Where do you go as I am still new and looking for a pro shop to go to regularly.
Shoutout to my work Sportsmans wearhouse lol.
Diamond SB1, not my first bow, but itll be my last I think. Its amazing, lighter, faster, more adjustable in all areas compared to the stinger
